We are staying close by the Chateau de Born and had passed the Chateau many times. There is a sign at the roadside advertising their shop selling prune based products and today we decided to take a look. I'm glad we did. What a lovely surprise. There is a small attractive shop in a vernacular building originally used to dry the plums. This is stocked with all sorts of exciting plumb/prune based products, including chutneys, brandy, whisky steeped prunes and lots more. Paul, one of the owners sons, explained some of the production processes (in excellent English) and even gave us a guided tour of the outside areas of the castle. This is well worth a visit if passing through the area and you are interested in purchasing some top notch prune based fare. Don't expect to be there more than 30 mins and do buy some of their wonderful produce. Excellent for presents to take home or just to treat yourself. Yum
