The hotel was OK, very nicely furnished in an older palace. The room and bathroom were big enough, and there was a fridge. We also had a nice balcony with a view of the park behind the hotel. Breakfast was sufficient, the coffee machine only gave a minimal amount of coffee, but pressing it three times was halfway full. The proximity to the old town and the Escorial is ideal. By car, you can get to the Valle de los Caios in about 20 minutes. In our room, however, there were no sockets by the bed, which is actually standard these days. The shower head was oversized. If you wear glasses, you can only read the selection display for the various shower settings if you take your glasses with you into the shower. The rotary handles were hard to move, especially with soapy hands, so it was completely impractical. Nothing came out of the body lotion dispenser because the push mechanism was broken. One of the bedside lamps was hanging loosely from the wall. It would need to be screwed down. We checked the parking situation before we arrived and there is a very large free car park (Parking Campo de la Herreria) about 900m from the hotel. We used this as we were staying several nights. You do have to drag your suitcases up the hill a bit though. Overall we were happy with our stay.

We stayed 2 nights in order to visit the Palace of El Escorial. There is space to pull up a car to unload baggage, but no parking. Check-in was friendly and efficient. When we checked availability of facilities, the pool was closed, which didn't surprise us as the weather was still cool, but also the bar/cafeteria and restaurant were also not open. Very disappointing for a 4* hotel. We were able to find a street car parking place 2 roads away. We had requested a quiet room and were allocated a corner room at the end of the corridor, with a pleasant balcony. Our room was small and functional, but with no kettle or coffee-making and the bar/cafe not open we realised that we would have to go out for morning coffee. Admittedly, outside of the hotel's control, but the noise from the neighbouring room was intolerable both nights. (through to and beyond 2.00am). Seemingly the separating wall does not suppress the sound of conversation, shouting, moaning, screaming, music, TV, etc. We complained to the Manager at check- out that the facilities on offer were not at 4* level and, to be fair, she listened and made a reduction to our bill. All in all, a disappointing visit. Unable to recommend.

After 6 years we return to this hotel, well located. Unfortunately things have changed a bit since then... Very nice and helpful staff, but room conditions definitely deteriorated: mold on the bathroom ceiling, floors not well cleaned (sticky), sheets not perfect, window not closing well, bathroom door in a precarious state (sliding: sometimes it did not close, sometimes it opened itself, etc.), strong sewer smell from the shower drain. Evident lack of maintenance over the years; shame!

I stayed like every year in the month of December because it is a special and personally significant date in this place.
Firstly, we request a specific room in advance, to which they reply that it is subject to availability.
When we arrive they give us a room that does not fit anything we requested. They actually changed our room with the corresponding supplement. We ask about the requested room and they tell us that it is occupied. But during the stay we confirmed that it is not.
Secondly, in relation to the Wi-Fi connection throughout the stay, it was non-existent and none of the receptionists on different shifts were able to give me a solution, not even bringing them my device in question.
Surprisingly, when we check out, the receptionist's response is "it's fine for me, it will be your tablet." I don't think it is an accurate answer in a hotel of this category or in any other hotel.
This is not my case, but would you give the same answer to a person who needs WIFi 24 hours a day to work?
The finishing touch when leaving is to charge for a measly bottle of water consumed in the mini bar when they have not been able to give me a solution to any of my small problems.
What a shame that they have already lost two clients because of these types of details. Keep taking charge of losing them with your little involvement. Get your batteries.
Merry christmas.

We went on New Year's Eve, the hotel was full. The room we were assigned smelled like a sewer, we were switched to a suite where the sofas would disassemble when you sat down and were not clean at all, the bathroom had a jacuzzi that was really risky to access (it was on a high platform and with nothing to hold on to and there was no shower tray. There is only one elevator for the entire hotel so it was impossible to access it, people ended up dragging their bags down the stairs after waiting uselessly to get on. The best the staff, trying to solve and make up for the shortcomings of a hotel that is not what it seems.

A beautiful 4 star hotel within walking distance to Monasterio de El Escorial. There aren’t too many hotels in El Escoriale and we heard this was the nicest in town and it was a pleasant surprise. They also upgraded us to a suite with a breathtaking view of the monastery, which we enjoyed very much. Breakfast had a good spread and with good hygiene standards. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside is that parking is not available so you will have to park somewhere outside. All in all, an elegant hotel which feels more like a mansion but with modern amenities in the rooms.

The pool is very nice, other than that the hotel is much shabbier than you would expect from its ratings or the photo. Though of course breakfast buffets are a thing of the past, their solution of putting a bunch of low-quality food (that we couldn´t choose) into a box and calling it breakfast was horrible and NOT worth the money. In general, the hotel is very over-priced for what it is. In addition, windows were not clean, there was dust in the corners of the room, and in general the place lacked attention to detail.

Very comfortable room nicely modernised. Brilliant position close to the Monastery. Great breakfast. The parking was very easy. They allowed you to unload outside the hotel and then go to the underground parking which the hotel had a discount for. There is no restaurant but the recommendations of where to eat in the village were great. Lovely reception staff who spoke excellent English

This hotel is not bad, but I don't think it deserves to have 4 stars. We paid about €180 for a rather small double room. Good terrace and bed. The bathroom has a fairly narrow shower, you can hardly move or bend down. Good breakfast, buffet style. They don't have parking. The pool is not bad, although it should clean the edges, which are full of veridy.

I would have given 5 stars if the pool was open and the bar had better service The rooms are bright big and the bed is huge but hard Bathroom is clean bur shower a bit broken but I did not say anything so can't complain. Easy check in and out Right next to the town centre with its resteraunts and bars which there are plenty. There is a lift to all floors as well as stairs. Breakfast is a buffet style self service open from 7am. Not a bad hotel all in all.
