I have decided to give this a 5 star rating not necessarily because it was the best hotel in Glyfada but because for what we paid and the service we got it gets my top marks. The two people we spoke to on reception were the most amazing helpful people. Eva was making calls for me for me to book up excursions and the hiring of a motorbike and Costa was the most affable reception attendant I have ever encountered. Please say hello to these two people if you do visit. The room was extremely clean with two balconies. The room was basic but extremely comfortable. The location is superb as it's a short it walked to the bottom of the road and like an Oasis you walk into lots of bars + classy restaurants but you wouldn’t have known had you not walked that path. We certainly will stay there again should we visit. By way of a footnote I would recommend not hiring a car as the tram service is at the bottom of the road and takes you to 12 beach resorts stop by stop for a very cheap price. The trams are clean and regular and travel right along the coastline... Eva told us that. Very helpful

I stayed at this hotel for 16 nights using it as a base to visit friends close by.The hotel is in a residential area at the Voula end of Glyfada. Perfect for those that want a decent night's sleep as most of the other hotels are on or near the very noisy coast road. In addition to this it's ideally located for not just the bars and restaurants in Glyfada, but also the bars and restaurants in Voula Square which is definitely worth a visit. Voula beach (chargeable) is also only a 15 minute walk away.

Although the hotel only has 2 stars, they can't do much more to make your stay welcome. The hotel rooms are very clean with a comfortable bed. There is an adequate breakfast comprising of filter coffee, fresh bread and a choice of cold meats/cheese and jams. Cereals and fruit are also available. The staff are friendly and helpful. I was very happy to stay here and would have no hesitancy in staying here again and recommending it!

A nice no frills hotel for an overnight stay. A nice smallish room with immaculately clean bedclothes equipped with fridge, safe, a/c and a nice small balcony. easy 5 minute walking distance to a selection of good restaurants. Breakfast was a basic but sufficient buffet choice of cereals, ham, cheese, breads, boiled eggs, fruit with juice and tea or coffee. Ample for a good start to the day. Twenty minutes from Athens airport so possible for an airport night and with a metro station into Athens centre within 5 km.

When I bought the package with British Airways for flight and hotel for 5 days the difficult decision to make was about the Country to go to. As I am Brazilian and teach Brazilian Portuguese in London I have always wanted to go to Portugal for several different reasons, but when I saw the package for Greece I decided that this time wasn't the time to go to Portugal just yet and I came to Athens. Tonight is my last night here 5/6/2015 and I wish I could stay a bit longer, maybe 10 or 20 years more (I mean it). I loved everything single day here, with very few exceptions. I am talking about other places I visited in Greece in my other reviews. This one is for the hotel we stayed in - Blue Sky.

If you are looking for a luxury 5 star hotel, with a huge swimming pool, games room, a nice restaurant at the top and the buffet room at the basement for your breakfast, Blue Sky won't do it for you, so it is better you look somewhere else. What this hotel has to offer you will be:

1) Nice staffs: They do everything they can to make you feel welcome. Katarina (Catarina) who is at the reception in the mornings, is great. She will help you with any information you need. She can speak good English, if you don't speak Greek.

2) Breakfast: It is continental, so don't expect anything more and you won't be disappointed. It will have bread (brown, white and for toast), cheese, ham etc, fruits, yogurt, some marble cake, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, milk, 2 types of cereal. Breakfast should be available from 7:30 – 10.30am, but they are not fussy and for the whole week guests have been having their breakfast until up to 11am.

3) A beautiful garden as you can see from photos. You can have your breakfast in the garden and although we saw several guests it was never crowded. There are several seats around the garden.

If the hotel is not fully booked your chances to have a room with a balcony will be higher and you will enjoy neighbourhood view. This is a very nice and rich area. So houses and building here are nice to look at and you rarely see anyone in them.

People in Greece can smoke in most places, inside bars and restaurants. Our room has a balcony where you can smoke, but not inside the room, so I am not sure if you can smoke in a room without a balcony. If you are a smoker you should enquire about this. I quite smoked 9 months ago, so I am okay, but my friend was glad we had a balcony.

Rooms are tidied up everyday and clean towels are left for you. Just remember that this is not a 5 star hotel, but everything is well organized.

The hotel looks nice from outside and the garden is very nice. The inside is looking a bit old and will need to have some work done soon, but it is not a major problem, as I don’t believe you will come to Greece to spend the day at your room. Also, in my honest opinion, the three most important things for any guests you can find in the room. a) A nice and soft bed (I slept like a baby), b) a hot and great shower (the compartment is a bit small, but the shower is just great), c) peace (you close the doors and relax, but it is not a noisy neighbourhood, so you won’t have a problem).

Somebody said in another review that it is far from everything or it doesn’t have good transport system or something like this. My first impression when I went out for the first time was that the hotel was in the middle of nowhere, but when you leave the hotel and go left down the road in less than 8 minutes you will find the main road with the tram station on your left. Walking right you will see a few restaurants. I will write a review on one of them, which is amazing. Still walking to the right you will find places to buy cigarettes, sweets etc and they are open until late as also the restaurants nearby.

With the tram you can go most places. If you ask at the reception they will explain to you how you can get to Acropolis and to the main touristic places. It takes about 1h to get there, but you won’t feel it. The tram ticket costs €1.20 and you can use the same ticket for the tube or bus within 70 minutes.

To go to the main beach nearby from the hotel is very simple. It is a private beach, so you will have to pay around €6 if you want to use the beach. Ask at the hotel how to get to it. It is about 10 minute walking and it is worth going there.

When you return to the hotel in the night you will see that part of the street is quite dark, but it is a very safe place, as this is a rich area of Greece. As the residents have car to go out they don’t care about the lack of lights on that street, but it is not something you should worry about.

I didn’t find the supermarket, but to be honest with you I didn’t see one anywhere in Athens, so I am sure there should be one somewhere there. By the way look for the fridge in your room. It took us two days to find it, but we weren’t looking for it.

What we missed in the room was a kettle and some tea/coffee. It is nice to have some coffee when you return to the hotel when you are abroad, but Blue Sky doesn’t have this facility, at least there was none in our.

I really enjoyed my trip to Athens and my staying in this hotel. It doesn’t have the luxury of expensive hotels but it was comfortable and they make you feel very welcome.

I just love Greece and I will be writing several reviews on all the places I visited while there. You will love the Greek people. They are the most welcoming and friendly people you will ever meet.

Taxi to the airport was a bit expensive at €32, but this has nothing to do with the hotel.

Thank you so much Blue Sky to make my holiday even better.

PS: I would have given them 5 stars if they had coffee/tea/milk/sugar in the bedroom.

Our family stayed in the hotel for three days, right after arriving in Greece from Canada. The staff here was extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice if a bit old looking, but that's europe for you! Nice bathrooms with a small shower, A/C worked very well, fridge too. Breakfast was very good and plentiful, with a pleasant dining room. Minutes away from the tram to Athens, and easy access to Glyfada's shopping. Beaches a little far to walk to on a hot day, but if you have a car there are plenty up the coast within a 5 min drive.

I'd definitely stay again.

This is definitely the best budget hotel in the area. The family that runs the hotel totally went out of their way several times for us during our stay and bent over backwards in every possible way. The hotel is a couple of blocks off the main strip which makes it pleasantly quiet. They have a great seating area for breakfast in the morning and for a night cap in the evening.
We were very relieved to learn that they speak English, as our Greek is not much more than please and thank you.
The only complaint we have of this place is that the beds are hard, very hard. We got an extra blanket from the staff and put it under us for some padding. Either that, or the walking all over Athens did the trip because we slept soundly each night.
This hotel is not super fancy, but it is clean, well kept and VERY affordable.

I found the Blue Sky staff to be very accommodating and friendly. The room was basic but very clean with a nice porch overlooking the upscale suburban neighborhood of Glyfada, which offers lots of shopping and some restaurants. I wish the hotel was a bit closer to the city center to shorten the tram ride, however the easy 5-minute walk to the nearest tram stop made it bearable. The reasonable price and helpful staff makes a stay here worthwhile. For those with an interest in night clubbing, there a few popular dance spots within a reasonably short walk where you can carouse until the early morning.

Nice clean hotel with good rates . we had a one night stay in Athens with an early flight back to USA. It is a few blocks walk to the restaurants in Glyfada. Not a problem for us, but if you don't like to walk be mindful of this. If you plan on sightseeing in Athens I would recommend staying closer to Athens proper( see my review on the Marriott Ledra)

We have been coming to Blue Sky for a number of years and always stay here when we visit Athens. It is a family-run business and the service is consistently friendly, lovely and efficient. The rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean, with balconies overlooking a well-tended garden. Blue Sky hotel is a short taxi ride (or bus ride) from the airport. It also has frequent, cheap access by tram or by bus/metro to the centre of Athens or (in the opposite direction) to the port of Piraeus which connects to all Greek islands. Blue Sky is a short walk from excellent shops and restaurants and lovely beaches. We have only good words to say about our experience of staying at Blue Sky. We strongly recommend it.

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for your e-mail. If the hotel on the 8th of October is full (and most likely it will be), we cannot guarantee that you will be able to check in before 12:00 am. If a room will depart earlier in the morning, then the maid will clean it and you will be able to check in but I cannot know that.
