We had to stay overnight in Athens because we missed our flight. We explored nearby options. There were apartment options mostly. But, we wanted to stay at the hotel. The most convenient option was the Stone Place Hotel. It is located close to the airport. We stayed one night at the hotel. They offered a free transfer. We paid 120 Euros.

The staff was helpful. They helped us to carry our 2 large suitcases (each of 20 kg) upstairs.

Our expectations were not high, as we were staying for 1 night. We did not encounter any problems. So, we can recommend it for a short stay.

We called them to let them know we had landed , the hotel explained where we should wait and said the driver would be there in 15 mins and would you believe it he was , the ride to the hotel is about 10 mins away , could not see much as it was dark out , we were lead to a small hotel , told we could pay the next day , asked what time we would like breakfast , and what time we would like our return ride the next day , then the owner ran out and returned with ice cold water and fruit juice .
The room on the first floor was just the right size for us , very clean , wifi worked , my husband wanted something to eat and the owner even offered to drive him to the nearest restaurant.
This man is so kind, can not do enough for his guests , if I need a airport hotel again I will stay here
Breakfast in the morning was very cute , boxed up toasted sandwich, and local pastries, coffee and cold juice , what more do you need before your flight
Thank you

I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel. I had a terrible experience and it sounds like a dream versus actual reality, but I swear this all happened.

I booked a room for myself and received a confirmation email, only to show up and find out that they have some “bad news for me” and that they did not have a room for me anymore. The woman at the front desk told me “not to worry” because there is a room for me in a different hotel about a twenty minute drive away— she told me to get in her car and that she would take me, “free of charge”— like I should be grateful to not have to pay despite their own mistake. She then proceeded to drive a while to bring me to this city center, and then stopped and parked her car and said we were now “waiting for another girl to bring her keys to a room.” Mind you, this was at 11:30pm at night, I was traveling alone as a young woman, and am a foreigner.

Finally, this girl who looks like she was just out clubbing shows up and hops in the car like we are all friends and like this isn’t supposed to be a professional business establishment, and they drive me to this random building without really explaining to me what is going on. There was no lobby for me to walk through, so I was starting to worry about where they were taking me.

After some back and forth that required driving me back to the original location for me to pay for all of this, I finally ended up in this random room that wasn’t even attached to the second hotel. This was the most chaotic and disorganized hotel experience I have ever been a part of, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The AC didn’t work and my transport to the airport the following morning was not free either. This was not worth €70 and I honestly want my money back.

I booked a few days prior. I didn't really take a good look at the photos or description, so when the time got closer I got a bit concerned that I didn't really know what to expect at such good value. I called this morning to check if all was ok for my transfer and the guy said to literally just call when I landed. I did that and within 15 minutes Antonis was at gate 5 to collect me, as stated by his colleague. He seemed nice enough but when we arrived at the hotel, he was so nice and accomodating, and within 10 minutes of being here I decided it would be where I would book for my return journey on Sunday. He showed me to my room, walked me to the ATM which was really not something I felt he was even obliged to do. He offered me a toastie, but I wasn't too hungry and said no problem I can bring later! So I had a scheduled snack for an hours time. I was so pleasently surprised at every little gesture. He informed me he would be at the hotel during the whole night and to let him know if I needed anything at all which gave me that extra security, especially as a solo traveller. I have a transfer already booked back to the airport for tomorrow morning which was super easy to arrange. The room is really quite big, with two double beds and a balcony which I thought was amazing! It probably took no more than ten minutes max to get from the airport to here. My main pro of the place is the genuine willingness to provide a good service, Antonis is a really nice guy and one of the most accomodating hosts I have come across to be honest; and I travel a lot.

Very convenient to the airport. The staff was excellent. They offer services very reasonable for transportation to different restaurants or stores. Georgia was extremely nice. She brought a bottle of wine to my room for my birthday. Would recommend this place to anyone very nice and clean. great location for airport!

This is quite an interesting property located close to the Athens airport. As the name suggests the facade of the building is made mostly of stone and stands out from the rest in the neighbourhood. Our room had a small balcony overlooking the street. The facilities were adequate. There was a cafe just across the street that served good food and drinks. There are also few restaurants nearby which served Greek cuisine. And a supermarket in the next block for any other requirement. The hosts Dmitri and his father were very good and helpful. They were available any time of the day and drove us from and to the airport whenever required. We were even dropped at the nearest metro station from where it was convenient to travel to the Syntagma and Acropoli stations. For those who want to stay close to the airport and away from the city crowds, I will highly recommend this place.

The free shuttle was a scam! They charged us $15 euro for the shuttle back to the airport when we checked in, then when the time came for the shuttle, no one showed up and we had to call an uber at the last minute to avoid missing our flight.

I usually stay down at Artemedia, so having a tip to try the Stone Palace from a FB group. Thought I would give it a try.

Good communication, after my flight was brought forward, and instruction on where to meet the minibus outside exit 5. (Many mini buses pick up in the mid lane, so you need to keep an eye out for the hotel minibus) I called the hotel, and they explained where we should wait and said the driver would be there in 15 mins. Was collected by Georgia, who was very friendly and accommodating, and gave great advice on places to eat nearby or if you require a delivery, as I was only staying overnight between flights.

Note you need to pre-book your return trip to the airport on arrival. It's €10 or €15 if before 9am.

Was given a room on the second floor, with a balcony, overlooking the street. There is no lift so bear this in mind if you are not good with the stairs, or mention this when booking. The room was spacious and clean with toiletries and towels provided.

Great experience and would be happy to stay there again between flights.

Dimitris and Georgia, are great hosts and Dimitris did the return trip to the airport, the following morning ...

BUYER BEWARE!…. VERY DECEPTIVE MARKETING AND UNPROFESSIONAL

We arrived to no staff on site, also no other guests onsite!

Parking lot Full of cars. Two sets of luggage left unattended in the Lobby. No one on site.

We called out a number of times…”HELLO! “ with no response. My husband phoned the Hotel and was told by a female “ I’ll be there in ten minutes”. We waited and finally a very casually dressed woman and her two friends arrived at the hotel.

The female desk clerk was insistent that we give her our credit card information. We asked to see the room first. She said “ You can’t see the room, until you check in and PAY”. We insisted we see the room first before giving her any personal information.

She gave us the key to the room. As we climbed the steps to the first landing, there was a huge pile of unlaundered used bedding….we climbed another floor of stairs, and again a huge pile of used unlaundered bedsheets were on the landing. We had to step over a plastic pan of cleaning items in the middle of the hallway as we approached our room. With all of this, there was not one sighting of other guests.

We returned to the lobby and politely told her we wouldn’t be staying. She then told us we owed her for the night’s stay. My husband said “No!”. With that we left.

Later my husband said he had noticed most of the cars in the Stone Palace parking lot were actually unused junkyard vehicles. I believe the two sets of luggage that we saw in the lobby were there for appearances only, to make potential customers THINK there are guests either arriving or leaving this establishment.

What reputable Hotel would leave their customers luggage unattended and not secure.

BEWARE! We left and were able to be helped by the company we rented our car from AUTO UNIONRENTAL. They were extremely friendly and helpful and not only found us accommodations nearby, but one of the staff drove us to our Hotel.
