I have been going to La Posada since I was one year old. I am the same age as the hotel. I have seen all the changes. This weekend I stayed at La Posada for the hundredth time and I was very disappointed in its personnel NOT giving guests pertinent information. The hotel changes the restaurant hours; however, they fail to inform their guests. After you check in and get your room keys, that's it. YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN! The desk person doesn't tell you that the restaurant shuts down between 2:30 pm and 5 pm. They don't tell you that they provide room service. They don't tell you that they provide pool side service. When you check in they should give you a flyer informing the guests about the amenities. The hotel closed their restaurants between 2:30 pm and 5 pm and the guests are left without a place to eat or drink. There are 8 people sitting at one of the pools, on a Saturday afternoon and we can't order drinks or food. What hotels do that?? Ridiculous. So the hotel guests have to leave the hotel and drive to a liquor store to purchase beverages. Also, there aren't any signs at the pools informing people that there is pool side service. I was very disappointed in the hotel to not give me and my friends updated information. I do have to add that the food and service were excellent as always. The Kobe burger, Panchos, Angels on Horseback, steaks and margaritas.. very tasty! And it is a beautiful hotel. This is why I keep returning to La Posada.

This is one of my favorite places. The consistency, familiarity and the friendliness combine to make it special to me. My preference is the older wing, as i like the view of the pool patio. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I especially like the bathrooms with the longer vanities. The rooms are so insulated that one's sleep is not disturbed. I am not a fan of the buffet breakfast, but they are definitely adequate. I prefer the traditional old-fashioned Mexican breakfasts when traveling near the border.

Beds are listed as Queen size, but two adults on bed say otherwise. Rooms size differentiates on location within hall way, breakfast not recommended. Eggs were so fresh they had eggshells, Toast was soft and pale. Grounds were beautiful with many beautiful flowers and traditional Spanish furniture.

Things of great external beauty are often ugly on the inside, and that is the case with this hotel. It is also totally in thrall to the business dollar.
We paid the extra for a king suite, which is sold as having a balcony and, possibly, a view of the courtyard. What we got was no balcony and a view of the ramp to the car park, which was one foot away - and very noisy.
On asking for the room we had booked for, we were told that only 2 of the 5 suites had balconies, and they went first to repeat business customers.
I don’t know what untruths they say about other rooms.
This answer took some getting to - we were first ignored, then insulted and finally told to write a complaint.
When this written complaint received not even the courtesy of a response, I knew their contempt for leisure travelers was complete.

We had to change rooms 3 times. First was so dirty nobody would have slept there.
Used kleenex stuck in the pull out sofa. Microwave with spilled food. Toilet dirty.
They put our son in another room and wanted to charge us.
The 2nd room had an AC so loud you couldn't sleep.
Finally the 3rd room was ok.

The manager was very arrogant, when we complained with him he stood in front of us, hands in his pocket, saying we were lucky he wouldn't charge us for the extra room.

Never ever again!

DONT PARK HERE uess you spend a minimum of $10 dollars at the bar.we had a event near by cause it was easy then finding parking on the street. So after we went to the bar to get a drink and go home. Night Manger had a power trip cause we did not spend a minimum of $10 dollars forced the parking attendee to run to my vehicle and force me to walk backinside to pay them. Parking ticket says nothing about a minimum purchase to park here, they handled the parking issue very unprofessional and the night bar manger is not trained on how to deal with anyone who spends less then $10 dollars and force others to do her work. La Posada is a nice hotel but however bad mangers create a bad image for future return visitors

We didn’t go there because when I made a romantic reservation for our 50th wedding anniversary on a Friday and Saturday nights in July I was told they would send me an email with paperwork to fill out and they would need picture IDs. I didn’t think much about it because they are right on the Mexican border were there had been trouble lately. When talking to a friend he said he never heard of a hotel doing that. I thought about that and the fact I hadn’t gotten that email. They would “Sebastian”at La Pasada do that?!! I asked a few questions but thought he would do as he said. I’m disappointed but glad to NOT go there

Note: I did try to contact management of this hotel to discuss the issues with my room. Mr Hernandez never responded after multiple messages.
Management is not available during the weekends at this hotel.
The room was very dirty with greasy and crusty bed toppers and pillows. The carpet had multiple smears of food or some kind of white spots. The air conditioner did not work and the tv did not work. The front desk sent a maintenance guy but he could not get the a/c to work properly. Also, the room had a very musty, mildew smell. On the positive side, bathroom was reasonably clean.
I was traveling with my dogs and do not expect to have the nicest room in the hotel but this was just unacceptable. The front desk promised I would get credit for one of the cleaning fees for the dogs but that credit has not happened.
I would avoid this hotel and look elsewhere in Laredo.

I will start with the good points of this hotel. The price was very reasonable. The happy hour was fun, and also a good value, The parking was extra, but I felt as though my car was safe. The common areas of the hotel are very pretty. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The staff was pleasant. However, there were some issues. The hotel was FAR from being full and wasn't at all crowded - but in spite of this, I was placed in a room right between the laundry room and the ice machine. This should have been the LAST room to be used if the hotel was completely sold out of rooms. Additionally, there are two swiming pools with rooms surrounding them, and both pools are nice. I was placed in a room overlooking a courtyard that was blocked off by orange tape barriers. Why put your guests in an ugly spot when there are pretty rooms available? The TV in my room did not work. It was changed out, but then there were issues with the replacement as well. This hotel used to be such a jewel. I remember parties at the pool with the swim up bar. It has potential now, but it's not what it once was.

The hotel is in a charming old building on the edge of the US/Mexico border — you can see the river from the parking deck and probably some of the rooms. It’s been updated to a degree with some modern touches in the rooms (USB ports, etc). The pools were nice and rarely used, so I had one all to myself. Fitness center was small but serviceable. The local area is pretty run down, but there are a few good taco stands and restaurants in walking distance. My complaint is that the room cleaning was somewhat questionable. There was always hair on the bathroom floor that didn’t seem to be mopped up, and there was a giant hairball on the carpet that hadn’t been vacuumed. Kind of made me wonder about the rest of the cleaning, but I mostly tried not to think about it.
