The Hilton Houston Post Oak by The Galleria is lauded for its exceptional service, particularly at breakfast, and its spotless rooms, although a handful of guests have encountered rudeness and rooms in need of an update. Its prime location is a hit among travelers eager to explore nearby shops and dining options. While opinions on value are divided, with some criticism over prices and promotional photos, the inviting atmosphere and quality amenities like the gym and digital check-in contribute to its charm and guest satisfaction.

Spent one night here on a quick business trip. I was impressed with everything about the hotel. Parking was easy. Service at the front desk was excellent. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and comfortable. The hotel just has a feel like it's been well taken care of and well updated. My 12th floor room had a balcony and a really nice view. I'm not that familiar with Houston, but I really enjoyed this area too.

My only complaint: (and it feels insane to be complaining about being cold in Houston in August) but I spent 10 hours in one of the large conference rooms at this hotel and I've never been so cold indoors in my life. I walked outside into the Houston summer heat every hour or two just to thaw out.

That being said, I'd rather the room be too cold than too hot. Next time, I'll bring a jacket.

Stayed in this hotel for a weekend getaway that included going to our 2nd NBA game to cheer on the Houston Rockets (although they lost against the LA Lakers). We checked in via our Hilton mobile app (I absolutely LOVE this convenient concept and wish all hotels utilized this) and although I had chosen room 1224 it was changed to 1211 (was bummed because I dislike uneven room numbers) but it was nice and the walkout balcony had a nice view (I wonder what the view would have been like in the room I chose in the beginning). Upon entering the room I looked and notice that several chocolate dipped strawberries and a Thank You note was on a desk (really enjoyed and appreciated that) I guess that’s just one of the many perks of being a Gold Member. The only negative that I can state is that there is not enough adequate parking for those who pay to self park and I’m very thankful that a Hilton workers who was in the self parking area when we parked across the street that advised us that we needed to park inside because they would tow our car and stated we could park in the valet parking in the self parking garage because he knew there weren’t any available parking on any level as he had already checked for another vehicle prior that was now parked in valet. For a hotel with 14 floors a 5 story parking garage is NOT going to cover it and at $26 a day that needs to be addressed especially if utilizing space in the self parking garage for valet car whom are paying $36 or $38 a night. Enough on that - continental breakfast in the Executive Lounge was nice and being able to check-out via my Hilton app makes me smile again (yes your phone also gets you into the parking garage as well) because you don’t have to keep up with a key nor go to the front desk. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Houston, but if going to a Houston Rockets game the shuttle does NOT go that far (shame as most of the guests I came in contact with in the lobby where going to the game as well) so either pay for parking near Toyota Center or Lyft!

The room was very very dirty. We were evacuating for hurricane Delta so we were limited and felt stuck but the room had so much dust and appeared it hadn't been cleaned in months if ever. I took photos to report because it was so disgusting that I felt sick the entire time. I also know since it is a covid pandemic that it is even worse and unacceptable. We were rushed to our room and told the hotel only had "limited man power." I was traveling with small children and an animal so moving around was not an option. I understood that nobody could help when the bell cart issue arouse upon arrival and that is the nature of this pandemic but the cleanliness of where I kept my children and had to sleep is most important. The other room was dusty and appeared to have never been dusted either. Same situation as the other room.

Shower had black markings on the outside bottom. One of the base tiles were fallen off and the complimentary shampoo bottle was empty. I was expecting better treatment being a gold elite member but that was not the case. There should be someone who inspects the rooms before letting them out to guests.

Back here after a couple of months.
Check-in probably need a little more attention - just because the company that uses this property for its employees, the check-in lady did not explain anything to me. I travel all over the US, and check into many properties.....and do not have all the details that are particular to each property. A little more explanation / input about the property and what we can expect (eg. a b/f sandwich and coffee/juice at the cafe) would be great.

Rooms are definitely getting old. One can see the wood stain peeling, creaks in joints. Also, the room door did not have the sticker that states that the room has been cleaned and sanitized...Hmmm ! Tissue box was also out.

Otherwise, pretty much the standard Hilton that one can expect.

This hotel is very lovely and in a great location, so I wish I had better things to say. Unfortunately, mysterious charges appeared on my credit card from the hotel days after my checkout which the hotel will not provide a receipt or explanation for and I was lied to about front desk staff about housekeeping.

1.) Charges - I was asked if I wanted a printed or email receipt upon checkout and I indicated email. I never received the email receipt and days later had a charge on my credit card for $126. I called the hotel and they said they couldn't help me and transferred me to Hilton accounting, I spoke to accounting and they told me they couldn't help me and transferred me back to the hotel desk. I have also tried emailing the hotel and still have not received a receipt or explanation for this charge.

2.) Housekeeping - I stayed for 6 nights. When I checked in, I was told they would only clean the room 1 time and I asked if it was possible to do so more frequently. I was told I could have it done daily if I preferred. I said I would prefer daily. However, in the first three days, the housekeeping only came 1 time so I checked back at the front desk and they said it's their policy to only clean 1 time during a 6 day stay so it would not be possible to have daily housekeeping. Housekeeping came one additional time after that, so the room was cleaned twice in total. I don't mind if that's their policy, but not sure why the story kept changing - first it could be done daily, then it could only be done once, then it could be done twice. I would have just appreciated an honest response.

The rooms and facilities are decent, however it is difficult to get the room serviced. If you don’t request they will leave your room alone for 5 days, I requested the room to be made up each day and they still skipped 2 days. The front desk staff are rude and unhelpful with real attitude. When checking out they showed no courteously or interest in my requests. I requested a copy of my bill and was told I don’t need it!! Then snarled at to write down my email address. I had to return to the hotel as the email didn’t show up and they then gave a hard copy. Disappointed and not what I expect when booking a Hilton hotel

The day of the reservation I wasn’t able to check in because one of the agents did not fully process my payment for both rooms. I booked months go in March and on July 16, 2021 the night before my sister wedding we were stopped from getting a room. I didn’t get any confirmation in my email indicating my payment didn’t go through. The manager even took hours before he decided “ let me give them a discount” even though it was the agents fault. My advice is to make sure before the you leave the front desk your payments have gone through and the agents did not miss a step like he did to us .

With so many hotels in the Galleria area, this hotel should be your choice of last resort. Terrible value. The lobby is excellent, but you won't sleep and bathe there. The rooms are completely outdated. The concierge staff couldn't provide basic area information. The Hilton brand usually does a lot better than this.

Save yourself from staying here in your next trip to Houston. The hotel is old, very badly maintained, horrible rooms, it’s more a motel than what you would expect from a normal “Hilton” hotel room in one of the nicest areas in Houston. Our connecting rooms where dirty, the scaffolding in the bath was broken, you could see mold in the shower. We called to be moved, they moved us one floor up. Same thing, horrible carpet, bathroom amenities were not enough. 1 soap. It’s the kind of hotel you just want to check out the next day as early as possible. We’re really considering calling Hilton costumer service to ask for a refund. We cannot believe how run down the place is. Hilton should not allow itself to have this property with its brand. To make us feel better they gave us $12 usd to spend at the Starbucks, because of COVID, and because were Hilton honors. It just doesn’t make sense that it’s still in use. Hotels are supposed to be nicer version of your home, where a vacation starts. Definitely this hotel is more like a badly maintained hotel airport. Not the Hilton at galleria. We moved the next day.
