We are very disappointed with what we endured during check-in on 30 MAR 2024. A reservation for a NONREFUNDABLE, one bedroom king suite was made on 11 FEB 24, and the PAYMENT POSTED to my credit card on the 13th...weeks before we could even buy tickets for the game on MLB.. We've stayed here many times specially going to Houston for baseball games. This day, we arrived at the hotel at 2:15 pm. The gentleman at the counter was very polite and said that "our type of room wasn't ready yet; check-in is at three". No problem... we totally understood that. We had a four hour drive; arriving early and having to wait is on us. We made ourselves comfortable in the lobby. Things went drastically downhill for the next almost three hours. I got back in line about every 30 minutes while watching the lines steadily grow. Second trip to the desk... he's still pleasant; room is not ready. Third trip up a young lady (pregnant...sorry I didn't get any names) is ready to assist. She said "there aren't any king suites available; I'm going to switch you to two queen beds." I said no... I reserved a one bedroom king... I'll wait. On my way back to my chair I told the guy whom originally helped me what she said and he reassured me that I'd get the king. Fourth trip to the counter. It's easy to see that he's getting as annoyed with me as I am with this situation... and quickly says I'm doing reconciliations (or whatever word he used)... I'm trying to find rooms). I go sit back down with my husband, 11yo granddaughter, and her friend... and our poodle. Fifth trip to the counter and I'm in no mood for the nonsense I'm about to endure. The guy says "I'm sorry ma'am I'm going to have to give you a two queen suite; there aren't any king suites available. The young lady decides to interject "it's beyond our control" in my conversation instead of continuing on with the customer in her line. My husband and I were not happy about two queen beds. First of all he's 6'2" and secondly, we didn't want to sleep next to two giggling 11 year olds, hence the reason I took the necessary steps that I did. We wanted what we had reserved and PRE-PAID for. I then asked what's the difference in price between the two room types to which she said there isn't any. Oh my God... I replied there had better be and I want to speak with the manager. I'm not sure but I think the next lady that came to assist was an assistant manager because the manager wasn't available at that moment. She was helpful and mysteriously found a one bedroom king suite. We just needed to wait for it to be cleaned. While we waited the manager; a very nice gentleman approached us. I explained everything that had transpired. I declined his offer to give me "some points". Points were NOT going to fix the fact that we arrived in ample time to get checked-in, changed, and go to the ballpark so the girls could get autographs. That was taken from us...COMPLETELY RUINED and points was NOT going to fix it. For that representative to tell me it was beyond their control is absolute garbage; it was 100% your fault! I did what I was supposed to do to ensure we had an adequate and safe place to stay AND IT WAS PAID FOR WEEKS IN ADVANCE. I didn't ruin our stay...YOU DID!

This is our favorite Homewood Suites! Great location-safe area-pretty spacious rooms and helpful staff. Dog friendly but difficult to find places to walk dog. Need designated green area. Breakfast in a bright cheerful space with yummy choices!

Great location to Minute Maid Park and the convention center. On each floor, half of the rooms are Hampton and the other half are Homewood. Suites are large and views from upper floors are amazing! Valet parking was great and priced comparably at $55. Front desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good and very quiet at 6 am. Overall, a great option if your family doesn’t fit in a standard guest room.

Disappointing for a Hilton, just ok. For a six night stay, I was dismayed, that upon our arrival, on top of your nightly charge, which I had payed in advance, they had us put $75 PER NIGHT on hold, as a deposit for any potential damages. We are a couple in our 60’s with no pets. It’s kind of outrageous. The agent who checked us in was not very friendly, rattling off information so fast, we kept having to ask her to repeat herself. The TV which is mounted on the wall is loose, so we had to jerry-rig it by putting something under it to hold it up. The cabinet under the sink is dirty. I wiped up some food spills, because I did not want to look at someone else’s spilled food. The only bowls are so small, almost no food fits in them. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean, and the coffee in the lobby is good. I’m giving it two stars because I expect more from a Hilton property.

They have very nasty attitudes to guest that booked on sites other than theirs. I made reservations on booking.com and was told I got treated the way I was treated because my reservation was by third party.

Homewood Suites is your average hotel. It is adjacent to Hampton inn and it is served by the same lobby, I don't know why they don't merge into the same building, its very odd. Anyway, what was really great there was the friendly staff, always smiling and willing to help. The rooms are equipped with a large fridge, a sink, microwave and cutlery, so it's like a mini-house. If that's what you are looking for then this hotel will be perfect for you. If you looking for top-of-the-line luxury this is not the place. Breakfast - very average with your normal eggs and orange juice. Nothing wrong with it but nothing special either. If you are going to the convention center it is a walking distance, however there are not too many food options around and the hotel does not have a restaurant.

My family came into town from California to visit me for family weekend at University of Houston. We had an exceptional experience, all 4 of us. Jesse I want to mention, who works valet always made sure we were taken care of leaving and arriving at the hotel! He was friendly, helpful, and did his job well. We so enjoyed getting to know him during our stay. Having a good attitude from Jesse really boosted our experience. If you ever stay at this hotel and will use valet, make sure you look or ask for Jesse!!!

Stayed with my son from 9/7-9/10/23 to attend two Astros games downtown. The hotel is great and is in an excellent location near the ballpark and restaurants. This was probably my 4th stay here. The guys working the valet parking were great. Other than low water pressure in the shower in our room, no complaints. Until Friday and Saturday nights. By 11pm the gigantic public parking lot in front of the hotel, as well as all streets surrounding the hotel are transformed into an illegal racing street takeover. There are multitudes of cars peeling around the parking lot and racing around the city blocks, and bizarre groups of people riding scooters everywhere. This went on until at least 3am on both Friday and Saturday nights. Police would show up for 5 minutes. Everyone would drive off. As soon as the police left they all came back. WTH is going on in downtown Houston? There is a police station within VIEW of this parking lot at the convention center. The Marriott hotel is also adjacent to this mess going on. Even the hotel desk employee I asked said he requested not to work those shifts anymore. This hotel charges $300 + per night for rooms during Astros home games. I will steer clear of this hotel and area until basic laws are enforced in this city again.

Great location for attending games @ Minute Maid Park. Lots of things to do & some great restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was clean & well furnished. The staff was friendly, nice & accommodating. With the exception of a young man named Jesse, who was friendly, outgoing, courteous & truly a great team member, I found the valet service to be incompetent, uncaring & disrespectful of their customers property. My vehicle stayed in their care from Friday night until Monday morning when I checked out. My vehicle was fine, but my keys were completely trashed. First off, they were in a frantic search for my key FOB when I made it downstairs to load up - they had somehow depressed the button that releases the main FOB from the key hidden within. When they FINALLY found the FOB, I discovered that they had also lost a small knife that was attached to the key ring. Another frantic search turned up nothing... On top of that, they had also broken the clevis that holds everything on my key chain in a neat, orderly manner. I tried to call both the local manager and the customer care 1-800 # to let them know, but being a holiday (Labor Day) no one was on duty that could help. I can replace the lost & damaged items for $50, but that's not something I would expect to do when entrusting my vehicle with a valet service.
