Booked a room last minute and I’m so glad I did. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable with a great city view. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and easy to get a ride share if you prefer. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again next time I’m in town!

We stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The staff on check in were so welcoming and polite and were able to check us in early. The hotel is a few blocks from main street in one direction and a few blocks to the convention centre in the other direction. I loved staying here and would completely recommend it.
However, there are a few niggles as such with the property:
1. if I hadn't have read on other reviews that you had to go to level 2 for reception then check in would have been confusing when we first got there as there was no one on the door to greet us or direct us as to where to go.
2. the lifts are so slow! Some days we took the stairs up four floors as we got bored waiting for the lift, also hold on when in the lift, they cause such a head rush when they come to a stop.
3. the bathroom doesn't have a door that fully closes. The bathroom door slides back and forth and there is an inch gap between the door and the wall it is attached to so you can see right into the bathroom and shower cubicle when moving around the bedroom, as I was travelling with a friend we had to to agree to staying to one side of the room when the other was using the bathroom as otherwise you could see right into the bathroom through the gap or in the reflection in the mirror that was in the main bed area.
4. Service at breakfast was so slow, please ensure you give a good hour for breakfast as it is not a quick service. The first morning we went it was 40minutes before someone came and took our order, the hostess (who I felt was mocking us in her mannerisms some mornings) kept saying she'd be right with us, but it was 40mins until she came by. They did comp us our drinks that morning, but still, service was slow. Also, the prices of breakfast are very expensive, but their evening menu is very well priced. It would be nice if they served soy milk.
We did have one bad nights sleep on the friday night but this was due to the inconsiderateness and rudeness of the other guests on my floor being drunk and loud in the corridor in the early hours.
Overall, this is a great place to stay and I do recommend it. It just needs more staff on in the mornings for breakfast, especially when a convention is on and more efficient lifts

The bed and pillows were just so soft, the restroom had a blue tooth mirror, shower had everything we need. The view, customer service and the Art all around was gorgeous! Very clean. I thoughtbthe room was going to be a little bigger but still worked for us.

The rooms at Cambria are nicely updated and the staff working Valet were friendly and welcoming; unfortunately those are the only two positive experiences of our 4 might stay at the the hotel. I am a frequent business traveler but have never stayed at a Cambria Houston. I can say that after my experience at Cambria Hotel Houston I am not inclined to ever stay or recommend staying at a Cambria.
For the full duration of our visit, only 1 of the 5 elevators was in operation. Guests and staff alike waited upwards of 20 minutes for an elevator, and when it finally did arrive the trip either upstairs or downstairs was elongated by a stop seemingly at each floor due to the overcrowding. Sure, the inconvenience and frustration of one of five working elevators was problematic, but I was more concerned about the safety and functionality of the remaining working elevator. If Cambrian's elevators are being properly inspected and serviced then how do four of them end up being out of service at once?
Aside from the elevator problem, service was abhorrent from the front desk staff. The most egregious act by the hotel staff was in response to the housekeeping staff clearing out our room prior to checkout while we were in the process of taking our luggage to the car. We had purchased a hefty amount of BBQ and other groceries along with regular personal items from a local mart, only to find them all gone while we were running bags to our car. I inquired with the front desk and was advised that check out time had not passed, so I did not understand why the room and our personal effects had been taken. The front desk, specifically the Operations Manger Angela Johnson, simply said "yeah well, if the bags are gone and there are no personal items then housekeeping will turn over the rooms because they need to meet my time schedule." What?! Adding insult to injury, when she found out the room was booked under my wife's name (we were standing at the front desk together) Angela blatantly quit talking to and looking at me. It was very unprofessional and rude. Aside from this experience, on the second day of our stay my wife had a brief discussion with a separate woman working the front desk which my wife described as cold and curt. We later found that the same person front desk person also had an "episode" on the elevator, wherein she rudely pushed her way off the elevator though multiple guests only to find out she was getting off on the wrong floor and then rudely pushed her way back on the elevator.
I would typically shrug this experience off as "just a bad day" but we were there for 4 days and other guests shared similar feedback. The bad experience for us extends beyond the disappointing event of the hotel trashing our personal effects prior to check out, but also includes the general lack of hospitality and professionalism of front desk staff, including the Operations Manger. Based on this experience, I will not stay at Cambria Houston again and I highly recommend against anyone staying there.

It started off coming in and checking in. The front desk helper was being nonchalant and alittle rude. I blew it off as okay a bad day, it happens. When I went to my room to check everything I had got the wrong room. (I paid extra to have a city view) I called prior to insure this. Yet, i was going to let it be EXCEPT I walked into the restroom and there were no clean towels, wash clothes, or even hand bar soap. So I went downstairs and let Jeff know that I paid extra for a city view which he said “we don’t have that, we don’t have a city view” I politely opened the website browser from my phone and showed him what I was referring to, which he said was “photoshopped.” I said well this is on your website. That’s when he said I can look for another room for you this is the best i can do. So only than did I get the room that I paid for in the first place. NOW, the mini fridge doesn’t work. I called front desk (Jeff) to let him know and he said yes I can get someone up there to you. It’s been 1 1/2 since. I had whip cream and fruits that needed to be cooled. No Go. 😞 Happy Anniversary Surprise Ruined.

You come to Cambria for the experience. Yes they charge about $120 room & tax and then also collect a $75 incident hold but the experience was more than worth it. Have a couple drinks at the bar and try their restaurants Salmon Alfredo. It took awhile to prepare the food but that was 😋! The staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home and the rooms are an excellent experience all on their own. Great beds, and check out the phone controlled smart TV and the Bluetooth mirror bathroom experience. As a top tier diamond member of Choice, I stay at alot of hotels year round transporting vehicles for work and I can tell you from experience that few and far between do properties go to this level of excellence! Well done Cambria Hotel Houston! All around excellent experience! 👌

Stayed at the Cambria for a few days before returning to Europe after a Roadtrip through US. It is a very convenient place . Easy to reach by car. There are some good bars and restaurants within walking distance. Feels like a safe area even after hours. Rooms are well maintained, spaceous with big TV screen. All very clean. Good beds and clean washroom.
It seems to be kind of standart today in hotels like this that room cleaning is not done every day automatically. We were told to order it specifically when needed. So we did but found our room still not made after coming back late night. Beside that all good, decent breakfast, nice bar and motivated people.
Parking is extra, there is a valet service in the entrence area.

Our stay was short but long enough to appreciate the friendliness of the hotel staff and the comfort and cleanliness of the room. We had a nice view of minute maid park so if I return I will ask for the same view. The bathroom has nice counter space and a roomy shower. The on site valet parking - with the cars kept close by - makes the downtown location super convenient. Omar, the valet, was helpful, polite and attentive -even after I had to access my car after he had parked it and I gave him the incorrect room number.

I reserved a hotel room at Cambria Houston downtown for 3 nights through Bookin.com as I came to attend and speak at at a medical conference in the city.
My flight was delayed by 3 hours (and it was a 12.5 hour flight), and so I missed my connecting flight and I was unable to arrive on the attended 1st night.
When I called yheNighy. To notify and spoke to the front desk I was informed by the representative, Ace, that I cannot arrive on the next day as I asked, the room cannot be reserved, that it will be considered "no show" and I will be charged for the stay AND will not have the room available. After more than 3 hours of repeated calls with both Ace at the front desk and bookin.com during which I specifically asked Ace multiple times for a manager and she informed me that she is in-charge and that she is quating "Concord policies". Since I realized I need a new place to stay (this was 1am with a few hours to spare for my new flight), I reserved a different hotel in Houston to assure that I would have a place to stay. After an additional call with both booking and Ace trying to at least get some of my money back, Ace suddenly informed me that there is a manager, Angela, which can accommodate my request to arrive a day later. Too bad this was done after ovee 3 hours and me waisting another $148 on cancelation fees of the other hotel I reluctantly reserved. When I spoke to the manager, Angela, and requested this issue be resolved regarding unnecessary funds paid by me and Ace presenting false data which cost me considerable time, frustration and money, the only replyI recieved was "thank you for bringing this to our attention".
Also, I looked online after the fact, and saw other bad reviews of this specific receptionist, Ace, so this is probably not the first time they'd had issues with her. Again, I pointed this out to Angella, which really didn't seem to give any attention to this piece of data.
Also, small issue I wouldn't mention if I hadn't has this terrible experience, is that the room key didn't work 3 times during my short 2 night stay.
Only good thing I can say is there was another receptionist, Angelina, that was very nice and accomodating, and that the room was big.
I certainly believe I was eligible for a refund, and for them to assure that this employee would not be able to damage other customers in the future. None of these occurred and I was left very frustrated with the experience.
