I really did not enjoy my stay. The staff and management made it very hard to relax. I will choose another hotel. I didnt like the pool chair policy. I think its outrageous the prices they charge too.

We LOVE this hotel and have been coming here for years. It is by far the best hotel in Houston. The staff have been nothing but welcoming, and the overall experience is just incredible. My only regret is that we can't come more frequently, we love it here!

On arrival my reservation was lost and they said no rooms but when I called the national booking I got one. My room had no water and only a shower. When I requested a wake up call they forgot to call. When I returned to my room at 5:00 PM they forgot to clean it or leave towels. when I called for assistance the phone rang for hours. They even misplaced my luggage . The main lobby was very nice but the room was n o better than a Day's Inn. Even the pool was closed.

Before I start the review, I want to give a shoutout to Amir at the front desk. Half way to the airport on our day of departure I realized my wallet was missing from my bag. In the middle of a panic attack in the car, Amir called and said he had it in his hand, apparently it fell out of my bag in valet. We went right back and got it. THANK YOU for that! Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and the place was a zoo. People everywhere all the time, loud, slamming doors, partying in the rooms, loud music thumping in the hallways from the rooms, people screaming drunk in the halls, absolute ridiculousness. They should have a security person walking the halls periodically during holiday weekends. We were woken up all weekend by people yelling in front of our door. Not much sleep to be had. The pool area is the big draw to this place, and while it was fun and nice, it could be kept up a little better. There was trash along the waterways of the lazy river. Drink service was good by the pool, drinks were flowing, DJ was playing, it was a good time. Crowded but good. Get there early, by 10am just about every chair was taken. Didn't eat at any of the restaurants on site except the coffeeshop (Texas T). The doughnuts they had there were good, but the breakfast sandwiches left a lot to be desired. Quick place to grab a coffee and pastry and not much more. Our room was nice and well appointed, bed was comfy. The only complaint I have about the room was the sink took forever to drain. Anytime we needed towels (no housekeeping due to COVID) the housekeepers were ready and willing to get them for you, just had to catch them in the hall. Hotel is in a good spot, walking distance to Minute Maid park, bars on the other side of the convention center, and Discovery Green. It's expensive for what it is, even on non-holiday weekends. But from what cab drivers told us in town, the hotel stays busy all the time. Would I stay there again? Yes if the price was right and not on a holiday weekend.

My stay at Marriott Marquis was terrible; I cannot, in good faith, recommend it. I booked Friday, May 28-29 which was Memorial Day weekend. This was my first and very last time staying here. Here is a checklist of the issues I (we) encountered: (1) Memorial Day weekend and zero veteran, disabled veteran, nor active military promotions or discounts. I paid $360+ for one night only to find out that others had paid $140-$160. This hotel does not cater to military on the very weekend that is supposed to recognize sacrifices. (2) Dusty. If you have allergies, this is problematic. After continuous sneezing I discovered serious dust on top of the headboard, the television, the bathroom mirror, and the AC vents. We wiped the AC vent ourselves. (3) Very little sound barrier. We stayed on the 21st floor. Sound echoed throughout the hallways. Although doors do not slam shut, even the quietest conversations could be heard inside our room. Also, there was constant loud noise, music, and conversation from a two-room party six doors down. (4) Ice machine ran out of ice. We had to go to another floor to get ice. (5) Very limited food after 10pm. Evidently, the main restaurant, Biggio, closed before 8 or 9pm on Memorial Day weekend. (a) The Biggio room menu incorrectly listed 11pm on it. (b) There is a kitchen (?) that provides nachos and a burger until 11pm but we did not have a menu in the room. (c) I was not aware that there was a $5 delivery charge until the food arrived. (d) I did not know that because we did not have a menu with the disclaimer and the operator did not mention the surcharge when we called them. (e) FYI, we ACTUALLY SAW Biggio--He was STAYING AT THE HILTON one block over which is where we went to eat [1600 Cafe and Grill]. (6) The main attraction is the Texas lazy river but it is only an attraction if you can enjoy it. It was Memorial Day weekend and the pool closed at 10pm with a warning given at 945pm. After checkin, unpacking, and a drink, we made it for the last 30 minutes. (7) There are no area restrictions for small children. About 5 children with floaties were diving into the very small heated jacuzzi. We saw two toddlers were being escorted by pool staff looking for parents. (8) Our room bay windows had ‘body marks’ which clearly suggested that there was ‘female activity’ against the window. (9) From the pool at night you can see people walking naked around in their room and deliberately having sex in the window. I suppose you cannot do anything about that but if you have children that is certainly a serious issue. At least Marriot could have cleaned our windows before we arrived [see #8]. (10) I received a random charge of $17 a full day after checkout. (11) Valet pick-up/ parking is a logistical nightmare. Its a free-for-all do anything anywhere and force everyone else to wait. This was unacceptable for a $360 1 night hotel stay.
