This is a great place for a convention or to just stay. Beautiful grounds, great restaurants, and close to downtown Grapevine which is adorable. The rooms are very quiet did not hear any noise from rooms next door or in the hallway. Customer service at check in, restaurants was excellent.

This property falls way short of the expectations I had. As a Marriott Rewards member, they could actually careless about that at this property. Had reservations for 7 days, was placed in an undesirable room, got switched to an even worse room...almost as if it were a punishment for asking Very loud! Very dirty, smells musty...There's enough dust around the door jambs and hallways to make a blanket! Everything is way expensive...I'm not cheap at all, but I do expect some value for what I pay. Many of the staff are aloof and seem as though they could careless about your needs. I'm still loyal to Marriott, just not a fan of this property. Restaurants and fitness facilities were exceptionally clean. Wrist band door keys were a nice touch. A little attention to details in the hallways, around all doors and baseboards, under nightstands, etc. could go along way.

My wife and I went to The Gaylord Texan for a Desperado Concert. Saw a sign as we entered that masks were required in public areas. Dutifully put ours on as we headed to the concert venue. Noticed that all the staff had masks on but only about 1/2 of the guests were complying to that directive. Also noticed that the public seating/couches near the lobby of the hotel were not being cleaned after someone got up and another sat down. The hotel itself is wonderful.

The concert venue in the Tate Ballroom was really nice. Guest seating was well spaced out so that each group had 6 feet between them. The seats all were behind tables to maintain distancing and so you had a place to rest your drinks and/or snacks.

The tickets to this concert were fairly reasonable but parking at $20+ and bottles of water at $5+ makes up for those reasonable ticket prices in a hurry.

Gaylord Texan Resort could truly be a case study in how poor internal communication, lackluster computer systems, and greed can affect guest experience. They booked WAY too many rooms for the number of employees on staff. Multiple calls to make sure that cribs were added to our rooms before check-in were completely ignored. Confirmation calls to make sure that I had connecting rooms were ignored. Check-in took over an hour despite due diligence and communication on my end. There were not enough restaurants open for the number of guests in the hotel so we couldn't get food unless we ordered room service. Calling room service took 20 minutes. Just calling. Food took about 45 minutes (not bad) but they forgot items, so that added another 45 minutes just to get through to them on the phone and getting the forgotten food. A stranger WALKED INTO MY ROOM after they were assigned my room and given a key. My room was never cleaned and I was there for two days. When we left the hotel (to get food beyond room service), driving back in and dropping off our car took almost 25 minutes because of the crowd. Oh, we also didn't have hot water during our stay.

You can tell how indifferent the property is just by the canned response to poor reviews on this website. They did not try to provide the best experience and yes, they fell short of any reasonable expectations while I was staying with them.

We visited on New Years Eve through the weekend. I made a reservation well in advance to have two connecting rooms with a center atrium view. It was myself, my husband, and our four children. I called twice and chatted once to ensure our rooms would be connecting because we have small children. I was told on the day of checkin that the rooms were ready and connecting. When we got there, we checked in to one room with the app but the other room wouldn’t let us check in. So, my husband unloaded everything while I waited in the one hour check in line (just to start speaking to someone) to see what the issue was. I was told the other room was on a different floor on the other side of the hotel. They offered to move us to two connecting rooms without an atrium view for $100 less per night. This was the price difference from the very beginning so basically it did me no good to schedule in advance to get an atrium view room. When I got back to our room, my husband was proud to show me that he unloaded everything including drinks and food. We then had to load everything back up and move to a room with no view. I was literally in tears over this mess up. We arrived to the hotel at 4:50 pm and did not get settled until 10:30 pm after standing at the desk for a few hours discussing the issue. New Year’s Eve was a disaster for us. All I could do was regret going and wish we had stayed home. The amount of money we spent to stay here was overwhelming but I wanted it to be special for our kids. I spent $850 on the Christmas activities alone which were also very disappointing. I was shocked at the experience honestly. There are so many other desirable places to stay in the area. I don’t usually leave reviews (good or bad) but I felt it was important to save families the stress we went through.

Holy cow. What a beautiful resort. Granted there was some limitations due to Covid but it really didn't detract from the trip. The water park was GREAT! Servers at the pools were propt and food was served hot and plentiful. Area as completely clean and staff was wiping down everything repeatedly. Some of the restaurants were not open but food was readily avaialble for both sit down, pick up and room service. Rooms were standard but nice. Towels are replaced daily but they dont clean the rooms (Covid). I give them 100% top shelf for what they have to deal with to keep the place huming. BRAVO GUYS!!

I stayed there with my husband and two kids a few days before Christmas. The hotel is beautiful with wonderful decorations and the bell man was helpful. As soon as we arrived someone assisted us and took our luggage. However, the overall service is not great. We stayed there 3 nights and no one came to change our bedding/sheets until I decided to complain on the 3rd day. Then a supervisor came to change it. We’ve stayed at several hotels and received much better room service. They mentioned we can press a particular button and someone with assist us immediately. The button didn’t work so that was a lie. Also, the food places at the hotel were expensive but not as tasty. I had better experience at other hotels. The price we made did food did not match the quality or taste. In addition, we wanted to take our kids to watch the Christmas lights outside the hotel and they wanted us to pay for that too. Besides, the lights were not extravagant. I find these very unreasonable because we haven’t received anything extra or special from this hotel. You had to pay did every single thing and the service would not measure up. You have to pay $23.00 a day did parking, you have to pay to watch the flimsy lights, during snow plowing they make difficult to fully capture your family experience, haven’t had my bedding change until I requested it on the 3rd day. You should’not have to request this service. Plus food was average. Nothing flavorful or fancy. Overall, I experienced better services at other hotel and the customer service wasn’t the best.

This hotel is amazing, is everything perfect, no but the staff goes out of their way to help whenever they can. We stayed with 2 other couples for a staycaytion and found the rooms to be very clean and sanitary (provided hand sanitizer wipes, covers on remotes ect.) We ate at Zeppole twice and the service was outstanding, thank you Glen. They have alot of choices for gluten allergies even though it's an Italian Restaurant. Very few restaurants in general have gluten free bread for me and they did. We went to the water park on Friday amd though it was not crowded we appreciated the cabana to have a spot for the 6 of us. Charles came by repeatedly to make sure we had everything we needed and the food was really good with generous portions. Yes drinks are pricey but you are at a resort. News flash all resort drinks are expensive. I really appreciated the lazy river being heated as it was cold on my last stay. We had a few glasses of wine at the wine bar on Friday night. It's really a hidden gem. Sean knows his wine and can steer you in the right direction. We had some great conversations with other guests, something I missed during lockdowns. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed the grapevines and gardens around the main pool and there were lots of cool places to sit and relax. The atrium is always a highlight for me. One thing I wish the hotel would do is gear some activities towards adults. Would love to see wine/painting for adults or whiskey tastings. That being said the kids won't be bored. Lots of activities for them.

It's a very big, beautiful place in a very scenic setting. Our room was a king deluxe suite which was huge-separate bedroom, large dining and living areas with a wonderful lake view from a double balcony. We were there the first weekend it was open due to COVID. Paradise Springs, the lazy river, etc. were a lot of fun for the grandkids. After being closed for so long, you would think everything would have been checked out and working-wrong. No working ice machines on floors 6, 7 or 8-went downstairs and couldn't find anyone who knew what to do or how to get any ice. Then, bedtime came and no sheets, blankets or pillows for the sofa bed. No one answered calls to housekeeping or concierge. After 2 hours of personally contacting the front desk, bellman, etc. we finally got sheets and ice. For no maid service, you would think they would have had extra towels for 4 guests for a 2 night stay. Bellman came for luggage upon departure, took it to the portico and left it without letting me know where it was, when my car was already there waiting. After waiting 30 minutes, we found it on the outside lane of the portico. Expect to pay a lot for the food, though it was actually pretty good. Limited restaurants were open and it was crowded.

The Gaylord is a large beautiful property with a large indoor atrium. It has over 1,500 rooms, an indoor pool and outdoor pool with a hot tub. It is located next to lake Grapevine Lake with what appears to be nice walking and jogging trails. My wife and I decide to spend a weekend here, but had no idea they were hosting a youth convention, which is great is you don’t mind a billion kids in the pool and a hot tub with crowded children and no parents. The first night, we struggled to sleep due to the noise from the room next door and hall noise lasting well into the early morning hours. The walls seemed thin. We ended up having to move and the staff was very sweet and accommodating. We moved from one side of the hotel, with a lake view, to the other side of the hotel, with a parking lot. (They also provide internal atrium views with balcony) The 2nd night was perfectly quiet. Yet, for a 1,500 room hotel it is lacking adequate hot tub facilities, if not adults pool space. The property seems to have plenty restaurants and bars, but only one hot tub, which seems silly given the size of the resort. I am disappointed with MARRIOTT as they have such adequate pool areas in other resort properties. So I question if this is the best place for a couple weekend retreat. For a family it seems fantastic, but for empty nesters or just a couple wanting to get away and hang by the pool, not so much. If it is a quite pool you want, I recommend you find another Dallas location. Maybe one day the Marriott Gaylord Texan will focus on “adults only” by adding an adult only pool and hot tub area. But until then, I doubt we will come back for a quiet coupe getaway. Again, the staff was fantastic and the rooms and facilities were very clean and nice. Perhaps great for your family.
