Valet made the trip easier as we chose to park there and Uber to restaurants/attractions. Valet workers went out of their way to be helpful.

Restaurant works were also all smiles and provided excellent service.

Hotel was good, but I’ve paid less for better Hilton experiences. They need a service elevator as almost every trip found an employee with a large cart also on boars.
Expect lots of sand from the beach and water from the pool. Found there to be a giant party atmosphere our entire stay.

Customer service at the front desk were friendly but overwhelmed with the number of customers, which left services a bit lacking. For instance, when we arrived (Friday), there was no soap or shower gel in the room. I requested some at the front desk. An empty bottle of shower gel was placed in the room. I requested it again Saturday morning, Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Monday morning. We did get a full bottle on Monday, but it came as we were preparing to leave. This seems to be an issue that should have been minor, but if I’m paying that level of price for accommodations, shower gel should not be a multiple request issue.

We are loyal Hilton members and we only stay at Hilton properties, but we will likely be staying at a different Hilton property on our next visit.

I don’t mind paying that high of a high but I would expect the services from front desk and housekeeping to at least match the services provided by other areas at this location.

We stayed at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the exceptional hospitality we received. Special shoutouts to Peggie and Pamela, who went above and beyond to accommodate us with an early check-in for a small additional fee. We arrived after our 9:00 am cruise departure, and by 10:00 am, they were able to find and make a room available for us. When we arrived, we expected to have our bags held until the normal check in at 3:00 pm, but the early check-in facilitated by Peggie and Pamela allowed us to seamlessly continue our vacation vibe, starting with a relaxing day by the pool which included a swim up bar. The early check in also allowed us the time to take in some of Galvanston’s sites and seafood restaurants. This was our first time visiting Galveston. `

We received a wonderful welcome from 5400 Bistro’s Host Ms Q, where we had the pleasure of dining at the for breakfast, in which the buffet featured a cook-to-order omelet station and top-notch service. The staff was attentive, and the food was delicious—a terrific way to end our stay.

The Hilton Galveston Island Resort is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming pre- or post-cruise hotel stay. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed at this property June 18th through June 20th. While our trip didn't have the successful outcome we had hoped for, I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the amazing front desk and maitinece staff especially since we were traveling with our German Sheppard Rockwell. We booked the signature suite and the room exceeded our expectations, spacious clean and comfy. Maitinece even helped us get into the bedroom portion of the suite when we locked our selves out of it. Unfortunately during our stay Galveston experienced a torrential rain event from a tropical system in the gulf. As a result, several rooms including ours experienced leaks in the windows from the excessively heavy rain fall. The front desk was quick to send maitinece to address the issue but nothing really could be done. There were no other suites to move to so we elected to leave early. The front desk manager was very helpful in getting us a refund for the nights we didn't stay and discounted the ones we did. While our trip didn't go as expected, we were so blown away by the excellent service we received that we will happily return to this property in the future, and look forward to that day. Thanks again yall for helping us out when the chips were down.

This hotel is in a great location, but it seems like they are trying to nickle and dime. To just park your car yourself, not vallet, while staying at the hotel they charge you $16.50 for 1 night ontop of your over $300 room for 1 night. Which is crazy. I would understand charging that if they parked the car for you but not when you parked your own car. Also, it's very sad to see they accept pets now. My father traveled for a living so growing up we frequently stayed in Hiltons and they were always extremely nice hotels and accommodating. Now it's like this location has just given up. Especially with their lower level rooms.
We requested a non smoked, no pet room and we were met with "We put pets where ever, there's no specific pet rooms." I am very allergic to dogs and cats, and my travel partner was also allergic to dogs. The first room they put us in smelt like a dog, had dog hair all on the ground and the floor looked like it had not looked like it was swept in over a month. When leaving the room we also saw a dog maybe 3 doors down. When I went up to the front and asked simply to change roomed I was met with passive aggression and her sayinge"just because you saw the dog doesnt mean its in the room." Usually I know they put the pets on the lower floors.
Trust me, I dont care if people bring their dogs with them on vacation. Do what you want, but if there's actually NO difference between pet rooms and regular rooms, Hilton has a MAJOR health issue!
As stated before, both times dealing with the front desk, checking in and changing rooms was just passive assgressive. Their restaurant staff though was AMAZING! They were just as nice as they could be! Specifically the gals working on Saturday evening. They deserve a raise for sure!

Needless to say we probably won't be returning to this location in the future, except for that restaurant maybe!

Worst Hilton we’ve ever stayed at.when we walked in the room, we noticed that the room smell like garbage, my wife said because we are to close to the water and the smell may be from the beach, around midnight, when I laid down on the bed, I noticed a huge part of the ceiling is molded and Immediately found out where the smell is coming from. (Picture attached) It was too late to change the room, next morning when we went to the front desk and nicely asked them to change our room, she was very rude instead of being sorry about it and said that we do not have any room cleaned and we have to wait 3 hours for them to clean up a room for us, we asked for a manager to see if they can expedite the cleaning so we can get the room quicker, but when he stepped out of his office, very unprofessionally without even try to solve the issue or have a conversation, he said if you don’t want to stay you can leave without even giving our points back. His name was S.J Shaw and Hilton must be ashamed having these kind of employees as a manager. I wanted to take a picture of his name tag to complain to Hilton, he covered his name tag (Picture Attached) and called for security on me.!!! Why do they have a name tag on if they want to cover it? We’ve already made a complaint to their head office and waiting for them to respond. By the way, that happened on my birthday which got ruined because of one useless individual. The general manager of that hotel also should be ashamed for giving this kind of service to the guests, me and my wife are both Hilton Diamond members for many years and this is how we got treated on my birthday.

The most memorable part of this trip was Peggy, the desk supervisor and Tyrnn, the sweetest lady and best server in the Palm Court restaurant. I have a special diet so it’s very hard for me to eat off a menu but the blackened fish tacos and the Caesar salad was very good. I’d love to try the blackened salmon and probably will before I depart. It bothered me to see how strict the written rules that were posted were worded about bringing in food or beverage from outside of the hotel. In fact it says if it’s found in your room, what? (Do they search your room?) …They will confiscate it. That bothers me and I’m not even a drinker.
So if you like me would prefer not to spend four dollars for a cup of coffee (no complimentary coffee offered here) and $15 for a continental breakfast that only has pastries and fruit and yogurt, when you avoiding dairy, white sugar and flour…these are things you should know. These are things that I wish I had known.
Additionally, if you only have the opportunity to catch up on TV when you’re away from the duties of home, I still haven’t figured out why there’s no small show time or movie channel booklet, or any kind of guide whatsoever that tells you what’s on TV. There is no hard book of directories of services. Their QR code that has an online directory of services is not helpful and quite frankly a pain to navigate.
Guest services this evening was very unhelpful although the sweet lady did have a great smile, I was told housekeeping would bring me a guide but that was not the case. I did speak to a very nice guy that came up to repair my television, again what ?
…his answer, oh no we don’t have that. Well OK, not a dealbreaker but I really didn’t appreciate seeing a curly black hair on one of my bath towels, that was gross. And I suppose one has to ask for a mini fridge which was advertised. The handle came off on the faucet but it was not too big of a deal to screw it back on, just a bit startling lol. The room is nicely laid out and beautifully decorated. And the carpet is kind of well, it could use cleaning. They are renovating in their back tower so maybe eventually they’ll get to this. Of course when they’re done the price will probably go up so bring house shoes.
And management, I am sure you will read this and for that I appreciate that someone has taken the time to review these reviews. But two people told me there was a guide upstairs and when I told them there wasn’t they told me housekeeping would bring one up and you guys don’t offer that. It would be a nice amenity and you might want to have your housekeepers check the towels that they roll up so prettily, because that was right there and could have easily been seen if somebody bothered to look, maybe it was even from the housekeeper, I don’t know.
Thank you for taking time to read this, Galveston is a lovely lovely island but I think next time I’ll stay at the Tremont.

Pros: Clean hotel, no real issues, love the free bicycle amenity, staff was friendly and accommodating

Cons: Hotel is a bit further away from shops and boardwalk area; breakfast was supposed to be buffet but we were informed that due to low occupancy, only limited a-la-carte menu was offered (we then came to find out that there was a food inspector there that morning so likely they didn't want to offer a buffet to keep the place clean); no water view dining offered and a major roadway with fairly high traffic between hotel and the beach

Biggest disappointment for us was that they did away with their Executive Lounge offering for their loyal members, all in the name of being "impacted by COVID" when everything else in the hotel is now back to normal and fully operational...sadly for the sake of cutting cost and at the risk of losing loyal customers, a lot of Hilton properties just like this one have done away with and will likely never bring back this wonderful amenity.

Tips: Balcony gulf view rooms all have side angled views in the lower rise building while direct gulf front rooms with NO balcony are set further back in the higher rise building.

All in all, it was an OK stay that could've been better, knowing that some of our most beloved amenities have been stripped away and our business is no longer valued enough to bring them back.

This hotel is under major construction, We could not stay in the room during the day due to the level of sanding and hammering in the room next door that was louder than the TV. After complaining they finally stopped for the night but 09:00 the next morning wile my wife and I were trying to enjoy breakfast in our room it started again. We complained again but were told "Well the website says we are under construction" Very poor customer service!
This morning I ordered room service for two, My breakfast was three eggs over medium, white toast, sausage, bacon and specifically said no potatoes. I got two eggs, sausage, potatoes and no bacon. That is forgivable but not the construction and rude reception.
Hilton should take note, I am a diamond member that spends about 120 days a year in hotels, They do not have to be Hiltons!! Be careful how you treat customers.

We had a reservation for one night on an award stay and the second for $$$. The first night was for 2 beds and the second was one bed. We asked for a room with one bed for both nights so we wouldn’t need to change rooms. We were told none were available, so we opted to stay in the room with 2-beds both nights. Later, I looked on line and there are king beds available so not sure why they would not rebook us in a King bed.

The temperature in the room is either too HOT or too COLD! Nothing in between!

We are diamond members and looked on the hotel map as to the location of the lounge. Went to find it; and there is NO lounge. Asked the manager where the lounge is, and he said “I’m sorry we don’t have a lounge.” Told him it shows one on line, and on the hotel map, and he repeated “we don’t have one.”

The internet in the room does not work. I asked the manager about it, and he said I needed to restart my device. We did, and it still does not work. We told the manager and he said he could give us the number to contact IT. Several other guests were walking by and said “don’t bother. IT doesn’t answer the phone.”

As diamond members, we are given $15 each to spend in the bar or restaurant. Breakfast in the restaurant exceeds $15.

I asked about booking the cruise shuttle for Sunday morning. Was told I needed to get on the list the day before. They couldn’t start a list until 24 hours before the shuttle is needed and its first come, first serve. The front desk staff also said to come down to the desk to book, because the in room phones are not working. 😳

The website says “complimentary shuttle to cruise port.” When you book, there is a fee of $15 p/p.

It’s wrong to advertise these things, but then have guests show up, and it be different from what their website says. Many issues during construction, yet no compensation or warning to guests giving them a heads up!

This does not live up to Hilton standards.

We did not book thru a 3rd party. We booked directly thru the Hilton site.

I would stay elsewhere. Too many issues at this resort for the price, and all you get is “I’m sorry.” Management doesn’t seem to care to try and make things right. Hilton should be disappointed in their Galveston Resort property. It does not live up to the resort standards!

Disappointed Loyal Diamond Member

1. We arrived to discover that instead of two connected rooms in the remodeled part of the hotel, one room was reassigned (different type and class) to the old section, first floor, which forced us to be separated from our young children. Additionally, while the remodeled room was nice, quite frankly, the room our children were placed in left much to be desired, extremely aged and with a view of a parking lot filled with construction materials as cherry on top. Not the beach vacation they envisioned or I paid for.

2. As we were sitting in our room early afternoon, an employee in uniform barged in unannounced. Upon realizing someone was in the room, he immediately ran off. He did not have a cleaning cart, any other tools or supplies, nor did he knock or introduce himself. It was very disturbing and made us feel even less comfortable about our kids being in a room on the opposite side of the hotel.

3. With significant ongoing construction onsite, I am surprised the hotel is even able to maintain its certificate of occupancy. Some parts of the hotel simply look unsafe for guest traffic.

4. While I tried to be understanding of the hotel’s predicament the night of arrival, the dismissive and irritable attitude from the front desk the next morning when I asked about moving our kids to a different room was very disappointing. I was only asking for what I originally booked. The kids were finally moved, but the whole experience ruined our mini-vacation.

5. Final bill contained numerous inaccuracies. All were addressed and adjustments made, but with a nonchalant attitude and no apologies for attempts to overcharge.

6. Diamond status with Hilton wasn’t even acknowledged, aside from a bag with free water. Room was downgraded instead of upgraded (as previously mentioned)

7. Somewhat on a positive note, the valet, the bellhop, and the restaurant staff were mostly friendly and accommodating. The service wasn’t consistently good, as sometimes we encountered employees having a bad day and showing it, but overall it’s a hard working and dedicated team trying to make the best of a busy hotel under renovation.

They usually serve food by outside pool bar on weekends during winter and every day in the summer unless it rains. They have a really good chef currently named Charmaine.
