The lodge's comfortable amenities, including the delightful cabins and scrumptious food, are popular among travelers, while the cleanliness of the rooms and the artful decor are frequently lauded.

Detailed Reviews
We were recommended this lovely quiet lodge from a friend and had a great few days and nights there! Our first time coming to Belize, we were lucky to have had the chance to experience the Pine Ridge Forest and to see and explore the Caracol ruins, Barton Creek Caves and Rio on Pools (which is a lovely collection of pools with a stream running over large rocks/boulders, perfect for a nice picnic lunch on a warm day!). The weather and environment are a fresh change of pace from the coast and a must see if you are venturing around Belize! Neil was a fantastic host and his chef made us unique natural, hearty, and delicious food every morning and evening! The eggs are even local/organic from the chickens on the property! They are also available for lunch and snacks, drinks, etc! All you have to do is ask! A nice stream on the property also adds a lullaby like noise in the background no matter where you are. It is very relaxing!! The cabins/cabanas were very homely filled with warm and vibrant decoration and handmade details you won't find anywhere else! Very clean, tidy, and spacious!
Easily felt like a lovely rustic home away from home and you can't beat the hospitality! Neil is happy to help arrange tours if you would like. However, if you are there to get away, you are certainly welcome to enjoy the tranquility and are not pressured into doing anything but relaxing and enjoying your stay. Parking is onsite and the wifi is fast and reliable! Be sure if you are driving in from the coast to take the second road which is a bit closer to San Ignacio! It is a much smoother drive and takes you through Santa Elena if you need to make any stops before arriving. Once you are up there facilities in the surrounding area are limited but this property has all you need to enjoy a tranquil adventure in the heart of western Belize! We are so thankful for our experience there. It really is a place to escape and relax!

My family stayed at the Pine Ridge Lodge and it was truly something special. Picturesque location and grounds, beautiful little cabanas, exceptional food (Neil is an amazing chef, you wont find a need to eat anywhere else) and the most gracious accommodating hosts. They made traveling with our 1.5year old so easy allowing us use of their pack n play and high chair as well as making sure she had some kid friendly meals. The location of the lodge is very close to so many amazing sights and has its own private beautiful creek and waterfall. We hope to be back to this very special place!

What a pleasant surprise Pine Ridge Lodge was. It was recommended by friends who called it 'rustic' I call it 'perfect'. It was like stepping back in time with it's quaint cabins in the pine forest next to a river. Our cabin was down by the river and was the furthest from the main house. The cabins looked newly updated with tile flooring, the bathroom had a shower with loads of hot water and looked recently tiled as well. But the bed was to die for, it was so comfy. There is no tv, telephone or wifi in the rooms. There is wifi in the main dining room but, we were so busy talking to the other guests we didn't bother. The service here was great. They really make you feel welcomed. The owners live onsite and run everything. You'll meet them at check in and they are there all the time to help with questions on what to do or just swap interesting stories. They cook all the meals too. Did I mention the homemade salsa? There is no written menu but at each meal there are a couple of options to chose from. We had breakfast and dinners there and they were all amazing. On the weekends they do pizza. I'll definitely be going back.

The Mountain Pine Ridge is one of those areas that visitors (and locals) tend to overlook as a destination in Belize. Part of the reason is that unless you have deep enough pockets to stay at one of the three high-end luxury resorts in the area, the Mountain Pine Ridge is only experienced as a day trip. Fortunately, Pine Ridge Lodge provides an affordable option. The rooms are comfortable and well outfitted. There is plenty of space to explore on the property, and all the attractions of the MPR are nearby. The home cooked meals are delicious and very reasonably priced. Fast wifi is available in the dining room/lounge area.

We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights at Pine Ridge Lodge during a month long trip trip to Belize. After 5 days in San Ignacio, the quiet, beautiful grounds, and the sounds of the river outside our cabana at Pine Ridge Lodge was exactly what we had hoped for, and a bit more. As other reviewers noted, Neil and his staff are responsible for the relaxing and fun stay. Besides being an amazing host and chef, the beautiful artistic touches in the rooms and the lodge are Neil's work. Guatemalan carvings, tapestries, and tile work in the bathroom kept me taking photos non-stop. Because it's a small lodge and very casual, it was fun to meet other travelers, including a couple who we continue to keep in touch with. Hammock time was a daily event for us and other guests. Neil's staff is small but dedicated to extending Neil's standard of service, everyone making whatever accommodation is requested. Meals were when you wanted them, not a specific time, your breakfast order was taken the night before. While we were fortunate to be there on a Saturday night pizza night, Neil's pork with a shataki cream mushroom sauce was superb, along with a very generous serving of delicious mashed potatoes (we thought about saving them for breakfast the next morning). A special shout out to Jose, one of Neil's staff, who made arrangements for trips that we wanted. Carocol is a long but great day trip with a stop at the Rio Frio Cave and the Rio On Pools. He also checked in with us often to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and had everything we needed.
Neil and his staff also transported us to our next stop in Placencia as well as going out of their way to pick up in San Ignacio at the beginning. ( the charge was fair)
If you want to get away from some of the tourism of the cayes and San Ignacio, I would definitely recommend some hammock time at Pine Ridge Lodge.

From start to finish it is an outstanding location to stay, the welcome that Neil and his family gives you makes you feel you are the only ones staying there and it feels like you are part of their family. The setting is just out of this world something you can see that Neil and his family have put their sole into, then comes the master the class - the food cooked and served to perfection and the taste - just wow!!
A wonderful family making you feel very special - you must stay.

Pine Ridge Lodge
Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve
Great experience, great memories, and friendly staff.
I visited Pine Ridge Lodge with my family for the weekend. The lodges are located close to Rio Caves, Rio Falls, and Deep Rock Falls, and also close to other locations that are worth a visit. The location also makes it an ideal place to stay if you are looking to visit Caracol.
The new road makes reaching the lodge fast and efficient. On arrival, we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff. The accommodation was clean and well-decorated with local art and carvings.
The food was freshly cooked and made to order, all the family were very impressed.
I have left this location with nothing but memories that will live with us all for the rest of our lives, situated by a local stream and a waterfall, it was a peaceful and very enjoyable experience.
I am looking forward to the next time I visit.

Staying at Pine Ridge Lodge was the highlight of our trip to Belize. My friend and I looked for a place near the Pin Ridge Reserve so that we could explore the local Mayan sites and waterfalls. We stumbled upon Pine Ridge Lodge and are so happy that we decided to stay there. We considered more expensive options in the area but after reading the reviews of the unique hospitality, we booked with Neil.
The room we stayed in was so peaceful, comfortable, and the decorated with such care. The rooms instantly melted away stress. Hot water, great pressure, immaculately clean.
Property Highlights -
1. Wonderful service from Neil and his family. Meeting their daughter, Flow, and being included in a brief moment in their life and along our journey around the sun.
2. Peace, tranquility and seclusion only an off-the-grid accommodation could offer.
3. The food, ice cold Coke and beer.
4. Star gazing each night. Literally, the most amazing view of the stars we've ever experienced. There is no light pollution for miles.
5. Exploring at night around the property to look for nocturnal wildlife (yes, big hairy spiders). Don't worry, there were none in/near the rooms.
6. Waterfall within a short hike along the nearby river.
Do yourself and your soul a favor and book your stay here.

Had the opportunity to pop in to the Pine Ridge Lodge for Sunday lunch with family and friends while touring the National Reserve. Owner, Neil Gibson treated our group to a traditional English Roast Beef dinner including Yorkshire pudding. Great meal with tres Lache for dessert. Reservation always appreciated and open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very reasonable prices and a great host. Lodge has six ( I believe) cabanas and is ideally located minutes from Big Rock, Rio Frio Pools and caves.

We stayed here for 3 of our 7 nights in Belize and wish we would have stayed longer. The Pine Ridge Lodge was amazing. The location is perfect and the grounds are so well maintained. Great for relaxing. A bit off the beaten path and once you get there you will find many options for day trips including ruins, caves, many waterfalls and swimming holes. Neil runs an amazing operation. The food was wonderful, he even packed up a day trip lunch for us and hand drew some maps to guide us in choosing our own adventure. Do yourself a favor and visit this place.
