Passing through Casterton & not much choice for accommodation & whilst the owners are delightful people the standard of their rooms leaves a lot to be desired. Price was fair enough so I guess you get what you pay for. The only saving grace was dinner which was a step up from the normal pub fare.

This place has recently had a transformation...out with the old, and in with the new. The dining area is still not exactly 'classy', but it appears that there are plans afoot to make it a more appealing space. However, in the meantime, even though the surroundings are definitely country pub, the food is well worth exploring. We have been here twice now, and have been surprised at the quality of the food. Not only is the menu surprisingly extensive for a country pub, but the chef certainly knows how to run his kitchen! Watching him in action, supervising his staff - not only in the kitchen, but floor staff too, was a delight! He's bloody good!! Share platters for starters were tasty. The steaks are melt in the mouth, the vegetables and salads were fresh and well cooked/presented. The only criticism I had was that the garlic sauce wasn't garlicky enough! The three people in our party all enjoyed our meals and we'll look forward to going again. However, it is necessary to book - even mid-week! We were a little disappointed with the desserts though. Apparently, the desserts are not made on-site, but are sourced locally. Stodgy and tasteless sticky date pudding, and a choc pudding that was dry and uninteresting. The wine menu is a very good but limited selection, at reasonable prices. Overall, endure the laminate tables, the plastic chairs and the noise of people having a darned good time, and do yourself a favour and visit the re-energised Glenelg Inn.

This pub/restaurant serves hearty and adequate food in a friendly "local" atmosphere. TV showing footie on the wall, young boys and girls taking orders and serving. Our meal was average and met everyone's expectations. No gourmet here, just hearty food with chips, mash etc. We did not go into the adjoining pub but looking in it was as you might expect a functional but plain place to enjoy a beer with the local lads.

We had an amazing evening here, with a great variety of meals and friendly and helpful staff. I had the salmon with prawns, potato's in duck fat and beans. This meal was cooked and presented as well as you would get in any renowned restaurant. Walking distance from the caravan

We just called in for lunch after being recommended to us by some locals. Large and good quality meals in a neat and clean restaurant, the highlight being the open souvlaki. Will go back to try some more meals and have a session at the bar. Friendly staff and cold beer

I haven’t left any reviews for past 2 years, but as we are finally able to travel, I want to praise the Glenelg Inn Hotel, Casterton, Victoria . Tonight the six of us enjoyed a delicious dinner here and we want to leave a well deserved review. A warm and friendly atmosphere, we all ordered different plates and all agreed it was tasty, fresh and a generous serve., best meal in a long time with amazing service

We had a lovely take away meal, sitting at the picnic table next to the pub and beside the river. They were the only ones providing food for the community. And it was fantastic. Thank you so much staff. First class food

The restaurant manager and the waitress were very friendly and efficient. The meals were large and reasonably priced. It is nice to walk into a place and be greeted and spoken to. Will come back next time were in town.

Small rooms and dingy. Some right on noisy highway. Better reno then may be passable. Place up for sale Stayed twice due to necessity but prefer any other like the b&b clarke street which is classy. Food reasonable. The hotel hostess is a nice person.
