This amazing restored cottage is just perfect for a couple or group . There are 6 bedrooms and 3 communal areas including a kitchen with breakfast supplies , chocolate biscuits and port and sherry barrels. Our host Bruce was very welcoming and informative about the town. Would give it more than a 5 if possible !

Very comfortable bed and breakfast with old world charm around the corner from Main Street and Glenelg River. Spacious living areas, well appointed facilities, and delicious breakfast. A relaxing haven with fantastic hosts after a long drive from Melbourne. Looking forward to coming back.

We needed a nights accommodation as we were passing through, what a fabulous find.

This bnb is beautiful, so wonderfully resorted with lovely decor and most importantly, comfortable beds and very clean bathrooms!

Breakfast was delicious and served at a convenient time to us!

Bruce and Janet are both very friendly and full of helpful suggestions to make your trip enjoyable and informative.

We will be back one day!

I had to go to Casterton for a family event. When people knew that I got a room here, they exclaimed that I had landed the best deal!

The guest rooms are part of an original historical house dated from gold-rush period if I remember right. There are several window glass panes from the period that show unique characters. The common area is spacious and cosy. The shared bathroom is nicely done and very well looked after. During my visit the fireplace was kept burning at all time which not only helped with the cold but also gave out a very welcoming atmosphere. At the end of the day I didn't feel like coming back to a hotel but more like a friend's home.

The location is also great. Less than 3 minutes walk to the centre of the town, yet tucked away on a side street. I couldn't hear traffic noise at all.

Janet and Bruce are superb and considerate hosts. I learned so many local knowledges and tips from talking to Janet in only one morning! They are greatly helpful. So if I need any help or suggestion I wouldn't hesitate to talk to them.

The value for money is also terrific. Room prices are not much different from comparable rooms of other hotels in town, but the quality and atmosphere are excellent in every way that I can think of.

Highly recommended for any visitors to Casterton.

What an amazingly pleasant surprise Clarke St Cottage turned out to be! First of all, it is truly in the centre of town, about a 30 second walk from the Main Street of Casterton, the supermarket, shops and restaurants. Despite being so close to the centre of town, unlike other accomodations which are in the Main Street, you cannot hear the traffic of trucks going by during the night. Didn't hear a sound from the outside world.

All the common areas are spotlessly clean, and filled with comfortable furniture, that are all in impeccable condition. Front room is a TV room with a large flat screen tv, and the living area down the back is filled with interesting memorabilia, and lots of books to read. The kitchen is huge, and tea and Tim tams are on offer. The dining area is beautifully renovated. The rooms are really large, and our room had an ensuite, TV, fan, air conditioner, and a comfortable queen sized bed. the bathrooms are totally renovated and very stylish, and again, spotlessly clean. Lots of small touches that make it great, like a small chocolate in our room for us, and shampoo and conditioner provided in the showers. Pamphlets on things to do in the area are also available in the rooms. We were the only two people in the B&B for the most part, so it felt totally like having a home of our own! Upon arrival, the rooms were cooled to a perfect temperature for us, as it was a fairly hot day when we arrived. Free Wifi Also included!!

I will not hesitate to stay here again, and have already recommended the BnB to family and friends who visit Casterton regularly.

The transformation of this 1800s building into a heritage style bed and breakfast is amazing. Photos do not do it justice, it is even better in actuality.
There are a number of bedrooms, one with a private ensuite, and others that share a bathroom between 2-3 rooms. The rooms are generous sizes with very comfy beds and are all beautifully furnished. The bathrooms are quite luxurious. Large dining and lounge rooms are shared among guests, and a cooked breakfast is provided by the hosts each morning. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and live just over the road so they are never far away if there is anything you need help with, but are also not constantly in the background during your stay.
The b&b is right near the main shopping strip, and is an easy walk to a supermarket and bakery cafes.

This b&b is much higher standard than any hotels in any country town, and better than most hotels in Melbourne. Highly recommended

We spent two nights in the Queen Suite, which was comfortable & stylish. I would have loved a few more hooks & a full-length mirror. Breakfast was served at a communal table & couldn't be faulted. Our hosts, Bruce & Janet, were helpful & caring.

This expertly restored residence has just a handful of well proportioned bedrooms as well a couple of large living spaces. Short walk to town's main street. Convivial hosts prepared a generous hot breakfast. Easy onsite parking.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights stay here.
We had the double with en suite. It was well fitted out with care and attention to guest needs. Perhaps it needed a bit more hook and drawer space for longer stays but otherwise very comfortable.
Breakfast of juice, fresh fruit, eggs to choice and lots of good coffee/tea was well done.
The breakfast area is a shared table.
The Hosts, Bruce and Janet, were engaging and very helpful.
Thoroughly recommended.
The building is wheelchair accessible. Our shower would not be showerchair
usable but there may be other bathrooms for that purpose.

"Some rooms are en-suite. Some use shared bathroom, which is very nice and clean. Rooms at the front of the house are more private. They open to the hallway. Rooms at the back open to the dining area, which used to be the courtyard of the old house. It may feel a little less private but it does give a feeling of an apartment of the old days."
