Hotel Steyne has been a fixture of Manly since 1859. Our heritage of providing a great space to catch up with friends over a drink and a bite to eat remains strong. Now, in 2020, we’re proud to start the next chapter of Hotel Steyne’s story. Hotel Steyne has completely new 4-star accommodation, bright new dining areas and Manly’s best rooftop bar with views over iconic Manly Beach. What hasn’t changed is the relaxed and friendly atmosphere you’ve always loved. Wake up right opposite Manly Beach, go for a swim, then come back to Hotel Steyne for breakfast before exploring the best Manly has to offer. Take a look around the Quarantine Station, do the Spit to Manly Walk, or just spend the day people watching in cafes and browsing Manly’s shops. Freshen up in your room, or enjoy a coffee in the guest lounge, before sundowners at The Rooftop, then dinner at Beach Bar and Bistro. When it’s time for sleep, your room awaits, with everything you need to rest, rejuvenate, and do it all again the next day. Hotel Steyne is a hub for business or leisure, overlooking the breathtaking ocean and surrounded by ample shopping, boutiques and cafes. Manly Wharf, for ferries to and from Sydney central, is located nearby. All rooms feature a SMART TV, Espresso machine, in-room safe, phone charging docking station, mini bar fridge and wardrobe. Sundowners at The Rooftop bar, looking out over Manly Beach and The Corso. Fish and chips with the kids at Beach Bar and Bistro after a busy morning catching waves and making sandcastles. Watching the game with a beer and your mates in Magic’s Sports Bar. Sipping on a whiskey and solving the problems of the world in Blacket’s. Or giggling with your favourite ladies over high tea and a bottle of chilled rose at the Rooftop at The Steyne. Whatever you’re looking for, whoever you’re catching up with, Hotel Steyne is the Manly pub for all occasions.

Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Hotel Steyne's prime beachfront location garners consistent applause from guests, who appreciate its proximity to waterfront activities. However, service at the hotel often disappoints, with visitors recounting experiences of unresponsive and dismissive staff.
The vibrant atmosphere is overshadowed by loud music at night, which, along with other room issues such as dirtiness, lack of windows, and uncomfortable furnishings, impairs guests' sleep quality. While some aspects of cleanliness and amenities like dining options receive positive notes, the overall value is questioned due to the aforementioned concerns.

Detailed Reviews
Was only here for a meal and some drinks so I will not comment on the accommodation.this was one of the peak weekends of the year and the weather was perfect for lots of tourists,so why was the kitchen not prepared for this ? On ordering we were told there would be a wait of up to an hour due to the number of customers and we said fine not a problem, got some drinks and sat down .15 mins later to our surprise our buzzers went off and we collected our beef on nachos x 2.on returning to our seats we realised something was not right ,we suspected that they had been under a heat lamp for some considerable time so we returned then and the staff apologised and explained the kitchen was having bit of a mare....with in 5 mins another dish arrived and this time we were not sure if the staff were having a joke or some one had deliberately sabotaged it but that went straight back and quickly removed by the staff more apologies 5 mins later an exceptable meal arrived. Now my question to the management is why did they not stop taking orders when it was obvious the kitchen couldn’t cope.there was a lot of returned and wrong orders as we watched on and a lot of unhappy customers...yes it was busy but you couldn’t stop taking peoples money..

You cant beat the location, slightly old heritage structure but has its own feel, it has its own cafe and pub. It was pretty good and definitely value for money. The room was a bit small but good enough, no complains, clean washrooms, the windows were slightly old style and hence wasn't completely sound proof so you might hear occasional sound from outdoor activities.

We are Manly locals & have been customers of the Steyne hotel for years. Their bistro normally have upmarket, innovative food. We went there last week & noticed a number of changes in the bistro menu. Our food was less than poor. I cannot believe this great bistro has lowered its standard. We left most of our meal (dry overcooked food) & left with the feeling of not returning. Such a shame!

It’s a beautiful location and the room was very clean and tidy , but no teaspoons for coffee, no bottle openers , we were ignored a few times for service downstairs , we asked for a bottle opener at the bar , and they said they don’t have any , which is ridiculous! How is that possible ? We didn’t get to drink from the mini bar ,
And also I wanted coffee and couldn’t make one. So we went downstairs to enjoy our complimentary breakfast and they said there is no breakfast . So we were confused to say the least, we went to the front desk and he said he will call his manager, who didn’t pick up the phone so we just left and had breakfast across the road instead.
Left a bad taste in my mouth and wish I could get my money back because it definitely wasn’t cheap so wasn’t expecting this

For what should be an amazing Aussie pub, right on beautiful Manly Beach, this place disappoints.
The prices are about what you’d expect, but the servings are small. Fish and chips was a huge disappointment - piece of fish but caked in thick batter and a minimal serving of chunky chips. Not good for $24.
The kids meals are $12-13 and come with either ice cream or a fruit salad and drink. The hotel had to be reminded about the extras and in the end only provided a very small egg cup sized fruit salad with about four small pieces of cut up fruit.
My advice, skip the over-priced adult meals and order a kids meals… kids burger at $13 is ok value.

I like rooms with a view, so that why I'm awarding the Manly Steyne 5 stars.
The rooms are tired and dusty, the place could do with a good makeover but look at the price you're paying, it's great value! You can sit out and watch the surf from your balcony. It's perfectly located on the corner of the Corso.
Be warned, it's noisy, so bring your sleeping tablets, ear plugs alone won't stop the walls and floor reverberating from the base music in the bar downstairs.
Despite the con's, I will stay again.

This place was quite a good little gem. Loved the pizzas, everyone was very happy to have a chat which really creates atmosphere and you could really tell that it speaks volumes here. Chardonnay was nice and sensible priced.

Hubby found a hair in his hot chips, the nachos were cold and the meat was chewy, the kids bolognese was tiny, the kids quesadilla came with salad and onion (don't know how many 3 years olds would eat that). To top it off the spoon which came with the kids ice cream also had a hair on it. When I mentioned the hair situation to the manager of the kitchen she barely uttered an apology. Plenty of other dining options in Manly, best to avoid this one.

Stayed in Room 35 on a Saturday night. Loud bass music, strobe lights and noise until 3am. They then turn the cleaning lights on so it’s like a lighthouse coming through your room. To compliment the lack of sleep no one is available to complain to as seems they only staff the pub and who cares about people paying $200 a night to not sleep. Even an email to customer service they have still not responded. (unfortunately I swore in it quite a bit as being 2.15am I was slightly annoyed at the total lack of customer service as there was none) If you run a hotel for guests value them but clearly the lack of response shows where we are on the list of priorities. If you don’t value sleep and want no one to assist you this is your place.

My girlfriend and I were on the rooftop bar on Jan 22nd and were considering having our engagement party in the function room, looking to invite 50+ people. Just as I was about to make an inquiry on who I could speak with, I put my empty beer glass on the bar, and then went to the bathroom. On my return, one of your junior security guards said I had too much (I had only had 2 beers), and then the senior guard came over and proceed to kick me out, He was extremely aggressive - and very rude to my girlfriend forcing her to either finish/skull her drink or get out.
This has been a long issue with the Steyne, and although you get very rowdy / drunk people, we were not drunk at all. This particular guard is costing you serious money and patronage - and either needs retraining or to get the sack,
