We would stay here again due to the cleanliness and we liked that our vehicle was kept behind a security fence and gate. Staff was good and bad. A not nice young woman checked us in in the evening and seemed irritated with any questions. The older lady who checked us out in the morning was delightful and super helpful. One of our two rooms had an overwhelming odor of fragrance that nearly gave us a headache. This king room also had a bed that was sideways to the TV so you couldn't watch TV from bed easily. Breakfast was very limited with only coffee, bagels and english muffins. It was very close to the airport so we would stay again since it was clean.

Booked this property due to it's proximity to the airpot which is very close nearby. When you drive up to it you will be taken back by the large gated parking lot. It actually did not make me feel to comfortable because it made me wonder why they would need to have a gated high fence parking lot. I was told it was due to the area where the property os located which is a commercial development but made zero sense to me as to why that much security.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. If you are hungry prior to your arrival I would highly recommend eating before you get to the property. There are zero places to eat within 15 minutes of this property unless you want to count McDonald's so eat before you get there.

The restaurant is not open at night but you can get a limited menu of breakfast items in the morning.

I had a nice one bedroom suite. Very comfortable. The room looks to be at least a one update behind. What is really strange is there is no elevator in the lobby area and the elevators are found on the farthest end of the hall. Terrible setup!

I would stay here again only because of its location to the airport and no other reason.

It says it’s a Marriott and maybe it is because in the last year Marriott seems to have went downhill for customer service at Marriott has really went downhill this hotel is located in a business type area outside of the hotel is very old looking in the inside can use some remodeling the staff was very friendly staff is the only reason I gave it three stars first thing you notice it’s a gated hotel and not a very pretty fence around the hotel. More like a prison fence. By the looks of it it must be a bad neighborhood much food around it either first and last day at this hotel and if Marriott don’t get their customer service together at their main offices I am about to stop staying at Marriott. After being a Marriott member for over 10 years they have changed.

Possibly the worst Marriott experience ever. The shuttle took well over an hour to pick us up at the airport so things started off badly. No "welcome to the Marriott" at check in just a very rude person at the front desk, almost like we were bothering her.
The room itself was small and desperately in need of an update. Water in the bathtub drained very slowly so you ended up ankle deep by the end of your shower. Sofa had no pillows so was almost unusable.
We went to Memphis on our first day (the hotel is about a 15 minute Uber from downtown and there is no shuttle service except to/from the airport so if you are going into town be aware) and when we arrived back our room had not been serviced. When I called down I was told I had requested no service which I never ever do. Since housekeeping was gone for the day a gentleman brought us new towels and he was very apologetic and helpful. Finally!
I had requested a late checkout when I booked the room and confirmed on-line and in person every day. Over the course of 3 days we confirmed several times with the front desk. As we were leaving the hotel on our last day we again confirmed we had a late check out and were told no it was never put in the system. They were able to do it that day but again a total failure to communicate.
Last but not least I wrote an e-mail to the general manger to commend a few of his associates that went above and beyond and never received a response. We stayed at two other Marriott properties on this trip (New Orleans and Nashville) and had great experiences in both. Memphis not so much.

This experience started at the airport when trying to call for the courtesy shuttle around 10:30PM. Multiple calls went to voicemail that no one was available to answer. We ended up taking a lyft.

When I asked about the shuttle at the front desk, I got the puzzled answer of no idea why that happened, the shuttle runs every 30 minutes and sorry about that.

I had checked in online about 6 hours earlier when we were still in Chicago. I never received an email with a mobile key and the receptionist told me that she has never seen it work.

She checked us in and then told us that she gave us a two room suite with two beds. I had booked a two room suite with a king. I told her what I booked and showed her my confirmation and she had no explanation other than that it was probably overbooked just like airlines do.

I was pretty sure that the two beds would be doubles but I asked anyway if they were queen and she didnt know. So I asked her to give us a standard King room and I had to remind her that it was a lower price. She undid the first room and booked us into a standard king.

What bothered me most is that she just put us in a room we didn't book without consulting us first and offering some kind of compensation.

She showed us where the room was on a map which ended up requiring us to walk all the way to the end of the hallway to take an elevator and then walk all the way back down the hallway to get to our room. She made the comment that we could take the stairs as well. I guess she didn't see that we had three suitcases.

The room was clean although it had a little bit of a funky smell that I couldn't place.

Breakfast was good and the Bistro staff was friendly. Its what you would expect from a Courtyard but the floor was sticky. IMO, that is something that needs to be taken care of immediately.

I found the hotel overall not to be up to Courtyard standards, It is in need of an update and a good cleaning.

I will also say that the staff was friendly, but friendly doesn't mean helpful.

One other annoying thing is that during the mobile check in, I chose not to get room service and I hung the decal on the door to decline it. I did not receive the points from Marriott.

Needless to say, but I would not stay here again.

A warning to all my pilot friends. Avoid Marriott Bonvoy Marriott Hotels in Memphis they can’t find soap or trashcans for your room, have rude staff, a dangerous workout room and can’t provide food. After I was forced to leave and pay for a different hotel after 4 hours of sleep they charged me $500 for the first night and the next 2 days after I checked out! Their phone customer service promised me a refund and did nothing, so now I have to challenge my credit card.

I trusted that a hotel with the Marriott name would provide a certain level of upkeep and atmosphere. You will get neither at this location. Here's the positive - its minutes from the airport. Once we got our keys to the room, we were met by the strong smell of marijuana as we passed near the front of the hallway. This smell persisted for our entire two night stay. The last night of our stay I put towels in front of the doorway to block the smell. I did not report it since the housekeeping would certainly also smell it and report to the manager - unless this is just a behavior that is ignored in this smoke free hotel. The carpet in the hallways and stairwells were well past the time for replacement. It looked tattered and dirty. The place just felt dirty except for the room.
The room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable, but there is no doubt I would pay more and drive further to get into an area that I feel is safer.
My husband wanted to change hotels after night 1 but due to a 6am flight out the next morning, we decided to take our chances and stay the last night.
We would not recommend this hotel,

I booked this place because of the good review score and convenient location for our plans. It was very disappointing. The exterior of the building and carpeting near the interior stairway were tired looking. In the room, it was like a mix of updated and non-updated elements. It appeared there used to be a mini fridge but it was removed, yet there was a microwave. There were guests who were not wearing masks while walking in the hall and taking the elevator. I would rather spend the same or slightly more and stay at a Hyatt Place where you get free breakfast and better quality accomodations. One plus is parking was free and gated, where you use your room key to enter. However, the lot was initially confusing as there are separate gates on opposite ends of the parking lot, one for entry and another for exit. They should have one way markings on the surface of the lot to indicate the direction that all the cars need to go.

I booked this hotel due to the proximity to the airport. However, when I pulled up to the hotel it didn't feel like I was at a Marriott. The lobby was nice/clean so I was hoping that the room would be too. However, when I got to the room there were stains on the wall, my entire room smelled like cigarettes, the sheets were dingy/dirty, there was dirt on the carpet, and there were stains on the couch. I did not feel comfortable at all so I looked online and found another Marriott and I checked out of this one. I was charged a full-night even though I didn't stay at the hotel long at all due to how dirty the room was especially because COVID-19 is still relevant - you would expect hotels to take extra caution to protect their customers so I was disappointed to learn that this was not the case. I was at this hotel shorter than someone's lunch break. I emailed Marriott to see if I could get a future credit or a refund since I'm a Marriott member but I haven't heard anything yet.

I would've ranked this place "terrible" but the people who worked at the front desk were friendly that was the only plus about this hotel.

My husband, young son and I stayed here before departing the next day for an early morning flight (11/2019). We were welcomed by two wonderful members of the Courtyard by Marriott team. I do not recall their names, I know one of the young ladies was waiting on a name tag to arrive for her...We greatly appreciated the complimentary adult beverage upon check in and their kind hospitality.

One thing to note, we were needed to use the business center printer, but it was not working, so we had to send confidential email file(s) to one of the hosts personal email account to have her print it via the printer behind the counter. Although this sat uneasy with my husband and I, we needed to use the business center and get the documents printed before our departure. If not already repaired, the business center printer needs to be repaired so guests are not forced to share confidential emails.

Overall, we would happily stay here again.
