We very much enjoyed the hotel, rooms have a fun theme and we’re very clean and comfortable. Great if you’re a fan of trains and/or great music. Be sure to check out the listening room!
Hotel is a little removed from Beale St which we saw as a plus. Nice neighborhood to walk to get to the sights and some good dining options close by

Now that the major hotel chains are going all in on the boutique hotel business model you can expect that the the unique, curated soul of the boutique concept will become watered down to the extent that the name will become meaningless.

Central Station is definitely an exception to this dire prediction though.

Although it is part of the Hilton "Curio Collection" this hotel is very specific to Memphis (meaning it could not exist anywhere else) and the concept is well executed. Memphis music is the theme in this converted train station (I think it still operates as an active train station). There's a DJ in the lobby lounge playing only tunes with a Memphis connection. The same tunes are piped into the rooms (very cool!). The lobby bar has craft cocktail menu and is a very comfortable place to lounge. There's also a semi-hidden listening room with a different playlist (not sure if this playlist is Memphis themed as well). There's also a fine dining restaurant attached called Bishop. It seems to be a french concept and it is excellent!

It's an easy walk from the hotel to every downtown attraction -including Fedex Forum, Beale Street and the Civil Rights Museum.

The rooms are huge (at least the one I was in)! High ceilings, large windows, the bathroom was almost the size of some hotels I've stayed in in NYC, LOL. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet -I don't think there were a lot of guests in the hotel while I was there though.

I often find hotel staff to be smiley and courteous but inept where it matters most but at Central Station every staff member I encountered was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful (have to exclude housekeeping since there was no room cleaning due to COVID rules).

There are a lot of hotels popping up in downtown Memphis recently and I had occasion to stay at another hotel during this visit (long story, don't ask). I'll review that property as well. That said I highly recommend Central Station.

Our family of 3 (parents/teen), just finished up a 3 night stay here. And not sure it was worth the astronomical price it was to stay here. While the room was very clean, the rooms themselves are odd. We stayed in a KIng Suite, and our teen used the pull out coach. The room didn’t have bedding for the pull out bed, and it took the hotel around 2.5 hours to provide once we called and requested bedding. We also called to receive towels another time, and it 1.5 to receive, and when they finally did show up, they asked us to give them our dirty towels first, which we did not do. Ridiculous. The bathroom door became a joke, as it NEVER wanted to close. It is one of those silly sliding barn doors, and it did not want to stay closed. Which wouldn’t have been so bad, if the actual toilet area had a door, which it does not. So, no privacy when that barn door slides open. Not great for a family. But, the king bed was comfortable with great pillows, but the pull out couch was terrible. However, the showers were nice an hot with good water pressure and they also provided robes and slippers. But, there is not an actual iron, they just have a very small, hand held steamer. Silly, for almost 500 bucks a night, they could provide an iron, and not make you wait 2 hours for simple things like bedding and towels. However, the location of the hotel is all within walking distance of the major attractions; Civil Rights Museum 5 minutes; Beale Street 10 minutes, and for those that can swing it, the Bass Pro Shop is about a 35 minute walk. There is a trolly stop in front of the hotel that takes you almost to the door of the Bass Pro Shop, but the trolly is unreliable, with no real timeframe as to when it will arrive and depart..so, we were stuck walking back to the the hotel one night, when the Main St. Trolley that was supposed to arrive every 12 minutes, never made it. But, it wasn’t a hard walk. Overall, we really enjoyed Memphis, but would not choose this hotel again, it was too expensive for the lack of service and amenities.

It should never take this long to receive the items you requested, and I will have this matter addressed and corrected immediately. From the sound of the room you were in, it was a Main Line Suite. I stayed on the 8th floor and on day 1 saw a silverfish in the curtains and killed it. Day 2, I foud some ladybugs and was okay with that. Day 3, found a stinkbug in the room. When I went to the front desk, I let them know and they said they would take care of it. I came back that evening after working all day and the door to my room was open, but there was nobody inside. I checked to make sure none of my personal belongings were missing. Then I walked to the front desk and told them. They offered to have me change my room, which I declined. Then the maintenance guy came back to the room with me, checked it out, picked up all the dead bugs (they had sprayed) and apologized profusely. He could not have been more helpful, polite and apologetic. They added 2,000 points to my account and the front office was supposed to call me, but never did. The windows need to be sealed. Until they do that, they will continue to have bug issues. The rooms are small and better suited for a guy. there is no room in the bathroom to put your hairbrushes, makeup, etc. The do however have a really nice hotel gym with ropes, trx, jump box, cardio equipment, etc. It's also really spacious. The restaurant for breakfast served the same things every day and when I asked for a to go cup for my coffee, they said they were on order. The front desk staff was very nice and the hotel is quaint and cool in that it used to be a train station. However, they need to continue with their improvements.

While there were many unique elements to the hotel, such as great music in lounge that could be piped into guest rooms, and period furnishings from 40-50s when train travel at its peak, there were some basic amenities severely lacking. A set of plugs on one side of bed did not work. Staff engineer sent up to room, who confirmed plugs not working but could do nothing as “controls under the mattress” and he did not want to mess up the made bed. After calling Guest services a second time to state this was unacceptable, a 1 plug extension cord was brought up to the room by the same engineer. He began to plug in the cord in such a way that it would be a trip hazard going from bed to bathroom, so I had to instruct him where to plug in the extension cord to avoid this danger. The Keurig in the room did not work, until he pulled out cabinet, jiggled wires, etc. On the 4th try of very forcefully closing the water reservoir lid, it finally worked. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work again the next morning. There were electronic controls for the 3 windows having shades and draperies but there were only 2 controls for the draperies. Very nice to have dual aspect windows on 8th floor, but not to have control of all 3 room darkening draperies was a puzzle. The gentleman who came up to the room had on no elements of a “uniform” or name badge identifying him as a hotel employee and this is concerning from a safety perspective. The lighting in the main room was horrible. Between the lamp and sconces on either side of the bed if they totaled 100 watts for a very generously sized king bed room, that is being generous in estimate. Bathroom was the only well lit space in the room . Unfortunately the pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner did not work. Fortunately, at least the one for shower gel did. By this point, I was counting my blessings that 1 out of 3 worked. When I asked to speak with a hotel manager in the morning before checking out, I was told no one was available but if I left a message someone should be available in about 2 hours. An overall disappointing experience, especially after the many rave reviews of this “Curio” collection hotel by Hilton. Location was great relative to the National Civil Rights Museum and Beale Street and all of its legendary music, lack of basic amenities in room (power to plugs, decent lighting in room, pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner that worked) , I’ve been singing the blues for all the wrong reasons.

If you like the typical cookie-cutter hotel right off the highway exit, this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for something different, with a really cool, inviting lobby and vibe, in a walkable area of town close to some significant history, then you should check this place out. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the place and all of the employees that we encountered. The lobby with the DJ and all of the records is so unique, and the service from the bar was fast and friendly. We could see the Lorraine Motel sign, the site of the National Civil Rights Museum, from the window in our room. Parking is a bit pricey, but we were happy to know that our car was safe - and it is extremely close, right when you walk out the door. We ate breakfast at the restaurant, where the food was delicious and the service excellent. On top of everything else, they were wonderful to our dog! If we are ever in Memphis again I will return here without question.

First the hotel is pretty easy to find with a big sign on the street pointing up the driveway. The hotel is an old train station and there are subtle touches to its past displayed throughout. Dominique at the front desk had numerous recommendations and was spot on with all of them. Check out the bar in the evening and the record room or simply relax in the gorgeous room you have. Rooms are a bit smaller but with upscale touches. I enjoyed the fitness center as well, it was one of the larger ones for a hotel with multiple treadmills/bikes/ellipticals. Additionally free weights etc. It was well done. I wish they had TVs hooked up and they worked on the treadmills but that’s my only complaint. You can’t go wrong staying at the hotel. Self park is worth it over the valet as parking is all on the same level so it’s just a bit further of a walk. Just remember to register your car...prices are steep on this but they share the lot with Amtrak. Stay and you won’t regret it!

This was such a pleasant travel experience. I believe the hotel had only been open for about a month when I stayed here in Feb 2020, and I hope the service, property, dining and extra touches continue to be at such a high standard. The property was nicely decorated, with homage to the train station and music scene. Rooms had all the features you could need, including music streaming into the room (although it took me a while to figure out how to turn the volume down!). The lounge was intriguing with its music and the wine list was more unique than other Hilton properties. Bishop, the restaurant downstairs, was a delightful French restaurant. Again, excellent service, good recommendations on the menu, and the food was delicious. Front desk was always very friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy engaging with guests. Location was excellent as well- centrally located downtown. I am glad I chose this hotel and will remember it as a pleasant surprise!

This beautiful, well run hotel functioned magnificently during over visit to Memohis in Mid-March. Smack in the middle of the Arts District, the hotel parking lot couldn’t be closer to the front desk, the bar and restaurant are within the buildings, the rooms feature the amenities that you need. During the pandemic, there are no bellmen or valet parking attendants, but trolleys are available to take your luggage to your room.

If you are on a leisure trip, the National Civil Rights Museum is about two minutes from the hotel, Central BBQ maybe four minute walk. Many shops and dining venues are close by to fit all budgets. There is a Main Street trolley that runs frequently from the hotel towards Downtown from early morning to late evening.

If you are taking Amtrak to Memohis, the lobby is a few steps away from the train as well.

While there are many hotel choices in this wonderful city, this should be the one that works for you.

General Manager Jeremy and his staff work to make this one very outstanding hotel, and will make your stay there a great one.

We stayed at the Central Station hotel in Memphis for a concert at FedExForum. This was a bit of a 'staycation' since we are in the suburbs, but thought it would be fun to stay downtown and check out the hotel. On the plus side, the hotel is very cool with great a great lobby and very cool bar area. We enjoyed the location as it was convenient to restaurants and shops on South Main Street. There is a lot of character to the hotel and they have done a great job with the interior. Service was also very good and everyone was pleasant. Unfortunately, the in-room experience could be much better. Rooms were nice although small which wasn't an issue. The bigger issues were the "musty" smell of the room. This may have been due to cleaning but should be addressed. The TV never worked correctly...couldn't get the control to get go past the Welcome screen. We tried several times to adjust the thermostat. When we called about the thermostat were told that an engineer would have to come up to adjust the temperature which didn't make sense and seemed a bit unsafe late in the evening. Unfortunately this ended up making the room uncomfortable and we didn't sleep well...stuffy and hot. The room was also low on soap in the shower which shouldn't have been an issue. Finally, the charge for parking in open, unsecure lot seemed a bit excessive. Don't mind paying for parking, but for $24 would have been nice to at least be secure parking.

We enjoyed the time at the hotel, but it could have been much better had the room not had issues. Loved the view onto Main Street and the location...hopefully they can figure out some of the issues to make the stay more enjoyable.

Our team takes great pride and occasionally systems fail due to lack of connectivity or resets/upgrades required, etc. Glad you enjoyed the location and hope you do return for another enjoyable staycation.

Dear BrusselsRob, 1. There is street parking available. We don't monitor street side parking like we do with our parking lot. We have security monitor our parking lot over night. That being said, I have not heard of any unsafe incidents either from street parking or our parking lot. 2. Both sides of the hotel have requested views; it just depends on what you like looking at! If you don't have a preference, then my suggestion would be to request a higher floor. That way, you're going to get a lovely view of the city, the river, or potentially both. Sincerely, Bonnie Smith Guest Service Manager
