First! I was a little nervous pulling up and the entire lobby was under renovation and I had to ask where to go. No signage. They pointed me to a side entrance. I went in and they had the check in on a dining table. Everything was well hidden. No construction after 5pm and before 9am. I entered into my suite on the 5th floor. So so nice. Wow. They gave me a coupon to use the embassy suites next door fitness, pool and breakfast area. They had grab and go bags with breakfast sandwiches available at the Hampton Inn.

I rebooked for a future date for a week for work. I can’t wait.

The beds so comfy, couch was super nice. They had a kitchen in the suite. That was so nice. The desk and tv combo separate the spaces. The carpet was lush. Hopefully they can maintain the beautiful new renovations. I can’t wait to see the rest when it is complete.

Very quiet hotel!

Response from AimbridgeDigital, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis East
Responded 20 Oct 2023
Starwarsmamma, it's heartening to read about your experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis East--especially the enthusiasm with which you're anticipating your return visit! The team understands how the ongoing renovations might have initially caused some uncertainty upon your arrival. Please know we're taking measures to make the process as seamless as possible for our guests, which includes directing guests and ensuring no construction activity takes place during certain hours. Your comments regarding the need for signage have been duly noted for further consideration. The team is thrilled that you found the temporary check-in setup to be efficient and the construction schedule accommodating. It's great to hear that your suite on the 5th floor exceeded expectations and that you found it exceptionally nice. We're glad the kitchen area in the suite added to your positive experience and that the desk and TV combo effectively separated the spaces for you. Your comments about the quality of the carpet truly warmed our hearts. It's also good to hear that you had a comfortable sleep and appreciated our couch. It sounds like our collaborations with the Embassy Suites next door for fitness, pool, and breakfast amenities added much to your stay, as did our own grab-and-go breakfast bags at Hampton Inn. Rest assured, maintaining the new renovations to continue offering a tranquil environment for our guests remains at the forefront of our plans. We're looking forward to welcoming you back for your upcoming week-long work stay and showing you the completed renovations when they're ready. Thank you once again, Starwarsmamma, for sharing your experience at Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis East and rebooking for your future stay. Your feedback has been invaluable.

I really wanted to love this place because I will be spending a minimum of 50 nights in hotels over the year. I am looking for a "hotel home" in memphis so had high Hopes here at first. The building is dated and that's fine, but the housekeeping is less than good. There was mold in the caulking of the tub, the rails on the closet door were full of dust, debris and dirt, I was lying on the bed and saw something under the bathroom sink, turns out it was makeup and applicator, God only knows how lo.g that has been there, and the toilet had such a putrid smell emitting from it and was highly activated when you used the toilet I wanted to vomit. All in all it made my skin crawl to think of all the actual filth and bacteria I was rooming in. I was glad work kept me so busy I only really used the toilet twice a day and only needed the room to sleep.
I was thrilled with a full size fridge as I always have a lot of left overs on my trips. Every single employee i came into contact with spoke to me and was very friendly, customer service is exceptional, the saving grace on ratung here. The breakfast had interesting option of a frozen fruit smoothie sort of beverage, liked trying those. They had fun and friendly sayings on the banana display to get your morning off on a bright happy note, coffee was good. Eggs were gross, i think probably the liquid microwave kind maybe? Idk, i love eggs but those were just not right. The meat choices were good and i liked the oatmeal.
I wish i could look forward to stay here repeatedly in the future, but i think due to cleanliness, or lack there of in the rooms, I will have to keep looking.
The manager should take pride in the customer service staff though, they are top notch. Work on your housekeeping please.

This Hampton Inn is an old hotel in a prime location.

I stayed here 1 night with a friend who was in town for medical treatments. Good Rates.

Beds were Ok but Furniture was dated. Basic Accommodations. Breakfast items sealed in individual packaging due to Covid.

Don’t do it. Old and lack of shuttle and housekeeping. They did not do housekeeping you had to request it in after you requested housekeeping you had to wait a full 24 hours. Housekeeping was half done when I went into my room I saw hairs on the bathroom floor. There was also a use toilet paper roll on the floor.

This hotel is old and sad. The furniture and any wood surfaces in the room are extremely banged up, the bed skirt had lots of stains and the room was dingy. The decor has been out of style for 7-10 years at least. Even when it was it would have been very bland with no artwork. The room is clean. I am not sure if I am missing a duvet insert or if they don’t do those ( if not they should because essentially I am trying to sleep under two sheets and it doesn’t work for me. It’s quiet which is great. Bed is pretty firm and I definitely wish it was softer. Front desk staff is friendly. Someone tried to barge into my room soon after I checked in. I think it may have been someone doing inspections but I found it very uncomfortable to have someone open the door while I was changing (fortunately I had the metal lever thing on so it just opened an couple of inches) I am shocked that they charge $180 for this place.

Room That I booked was not available I was given different type of room with leaking toilet the whole room smelled like urine. The AC was leaking and the carpet next to my bed was wet and smelly. The room didn't have the basic amenities such as refrigerator that I needed to keep my medicine in. Breakfast area was under construction while I was having breakfast, food and serving tables had construction particles on them. The room that I booked was not available so they placed me in more expensive room that was under construction and not ready for occupancy. When I asked for help they ignored me and never tried to fix the issue or to competent me for my discomfort. It has been more than a week and I have not herd from anyone.

This hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. The shower would only run very hot or very cold at a trickle. The bathroom sink filled up with water and took a long time to drain. The toilet paper dispenser rack was broken and dumped the toilet paper roll on the floor. The staff was friendly, but I would stay away from this hotel until Hilton can get there act together down there.

Let me start off by saying the hotel and rooms were recently renovated and were nice. The service is another story. We were checked in by a very nice man who was in the middle of checking in a huge group of meeting goers, and was very patient when I finally got up to the desk, and upgraded us. We were not part of the group. After that, all front desk personnel had an attitude and couldn't be bothered, except for a woman named Kay. We were there 3 nights, and room was never cleaned, towels refreshed or trash taken out, even upon request. When asked front desk person for more towels, we were told each of us could only have 1 towel when asked for more. I called the manager after our checkout as she was not available at the time, and shared our experience. She kindly offered us Hilton Honors points which have not been received a week later. Also, my phone calls to her have not been returned.

The hotel is in a safe location and was clean enough but the building had some minor things going on that became majorly annoying. One of the main elevators at the front was out of order and required a long walk to another one to get to my room and after a long hot day and hours on the road with tons of bags, this was not fun. Also on our floor the ice maker was also out order and in the room the sinks and toilets were having clogging and draining issues.

I took two of my adult grandchildren to Memphis for a Labor Day weekend get away. We stayed at this hotel and it was the best accommodation for proximity to places we wanted to visit. It was very clean, masks were recommended, the beds and rooms were clean and comfortable, complimentary breakfast was quite satisfactory....Staff were absolutely awesome!!! It is located in a very nice neighborhood about 15-20 minutes from down town and near the residential area with great highway access...
I highly recommend this place if you plan a visit to Memphis.

Not sure about shuttle, we had our own car, but the motel has a lot of services. You would have to check at the desk when you check in.
