This was our second visit so we knew what to expect! This is a very pleasant location - a short walk to Helensburgh Upper station for the West Highland Railway trip and also down to the town itself for restaurants. Our room was comfortable and well equipped and we had a delicious breakfast every morning, served in the spacious conservatory which is also avail e for use as a lounge. Our hosts were pleasant, helpful and well informed about the area.

Wonderful find. Perfect location with off street parking. Only a short stroll into the centre of Helensburgh. Anne and John are the perfect hosts. Rooms are very nice indeed and top brand coffee with easy access to fresh milk show the excellent attention to detail you get here. Great breakfast and lovely to see the menu printed in many languages to make everyone as welcomes as they can be.

We stayed for 3 nights and really liked this place.

Location superb. The house is lovely and in a quiet area. Rooms are very nice and comfortable.

People who run it are really nice and very helpful. Very near both Helensburgh train stations and the Hill House.

We were in town for a Burns supper and stayed in this lovely wee b&b. I’m not in the slightest bit surprised it has no bad reviews as it is fantastic and cosy which is perfectly coupled up with the owners who were the perfect hosts.
We felt very welcomed and should we visit Helensbourgh again we will definitely stay here again. Breakfast was very tasty and exactly what we needed after a traditional Burns supper with lots of whisky consumed.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

Despite the unfinished conservatory, which we were warned about in advance, we had a great stay at this friendly B&B. Excellent breakfast and very spacious, comfortable, clean bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. Anne and John were very friendly and knowledgeable on the local area. Easy access into Glasgow by train or 45 minutes by car and a great location for heading to Loch Lomond and beyond. Good off-street parking.

First of all, the welcome was warm, not just to our company of four, but also to a lovely English couple who arrived with us at the same time.

In more than one respect this B&B is well organized and (also 'technically') 'up to date'. The room was lovely & clean. All facilities were there, even an iPad was supplied (!). Good WiFi strength as well (for an IT professional this is a big plus ;-)).

The bed was surely big enough and comfortable. Bathroom clean, nice shower and all amenities available.

Breakfast simply superb. Also, perfect recommendations and information on e.g. local events, restaurants and sightseeing were offered.

In all, an excellent stay, hence highly recommendable!

I stayed at Balmillig (the name of the house) for two nights. The place is fantastic. Its a big traditional style house with a large veranda where you can relax, read magazines or find information about Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Anne and John were most helpful. They recommended several restaurants, gave me a map and showed me where I could go for walks. My room was large, nicely furnished, with a very contemporary en suite toilet/bathroom. And, something special: there was an ipad on the bedside table!

Right from the time we booked with John and Anne, the service was faultless. We arrived quite late on in the evening and were met and greeted by both John and Anne. The rooms were extremely well laid out, comfortable and very functional with some nice touches in the bathroom. Breakfast was brilliant and as with everything else faultless. John and Anne took time talking to everyone and providing useful information about where to go, and the best way to achieve it. We would 100% recommend this B&B and will return again on our hopefully frequent visits upto Scotland. Reading the previous reviews can give you doubts, as to is it really this good but in this case what you read is what you get, homely, very comforting and made to feel extremely welcome. Balmillig is set in very nice area of Helensburgh and is a lovely short walk to the shoreline.
