Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gorgeous views, amazing old house with modern amenities and that touch of Scottish charm! I arrived late on a Sunday evening after having driven 9hrs from London to attend a funeral in Helensburgh the next day. Catherine was wonderful - she welcomed me with such warmth I knew I was exactly where I needed to be. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the room itself was beautiful - nothing smelled old or musty like you sometimes get with older buildings. They have really put a lot of effort into making sure their guests feel they're not only in Scotland, but very welcome. Thank you, Catherine! Oh, and the coffee was great, too!

From as soon as we arrived we were welcomed and shown to our room, the room was beautiful. Loved all the little touches from fresh white robes to cute little details we both instantly felt relaxed.
Our room had sea views and was in a perfect location to explore Loch Lomond and restaurants nearby walk away. We absolutely loved our breakfast especially the homemade lemon muffins. Thank you so much we will be coming back again ☺️
Also the bed was the best, so comfortable we could have snoozed all day long!

A wonderfully welcoming, relaxed B&B, beautifully and stylishly decorated and furnished. Great care is taken to minimise risk of COVID transmission - from deep cleaning to breakfast (excellent!) served in your room. Go there: treat yourself!

We highly recommend this wonderful bed and breakfast. Due to no fault of our own we had to change the dates of our stay 3 times and this was accommodated by the owner. We stayed in the Heron suite which has great views with chairs positioned right at the window to relax and admire the scenery. Although our bathroom was next door, just off the landing, there was no problem as the most gorgeous dressing gowns and slippers were supplied. (I meant to ask before we left where I could buy one as it was so soft and fluffy!)

All the little touches make this a special place, where you are treated with warmth and nothing is too much bother. On arrival warm scones with cream are served with either tea or coffee. Bottled water supplied in the room with facilities to make your own brew if you fancy. A mint left on each bedside table too.

Breakfast was delicious too! We love the old creaky floorboards and high celings in all the rooms. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We stayed at this B and B for one night on way to Skye. Please be aware of the following:

Breakfast is only available in room and is certainly not as described on the website.

No scones and jam are available even though advertised on website.

Worst of all when we stayed in Curlew room, the cold water tap for the sink was not working. The owners were aware of this and told us at arrival but did not offer any solution.

We are asked the owners for comment on all the above and have not received a reply.

Very disappointing that no changes to their website have been made to reflect the actual service received.

My partner and I chose No 20 for our birthday weekend, and it perfectly lived up to our expectations. The location was absolutely gorgeous, and whilst Helensburgh was perhaps not the most lively of towns, the B&B is right next to Craigendoran train station, in which Glasgow is only a short journey away. The room was beautiful, with a view that provided the cherry on the cake. Most importantly, April and Jemma were absolutely fantastic hosts. Breakfast was fantastic every morning, and they even kindly gifted us a mini prosecco and beer for our birthdays! Have only good things to say, and will definitely be back. Book it now!

We spent two nights here on our return south after driving the NC500. A warm welcome was extended as we arrived although the offer of scones was turned down following a large breakfast and lunch en route. The Oyster catcher was an attractive room, maybe ready for a lick of paint in places, but comfortable bed, window seats, good storage and a powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent - really good selection of options. April and her ladies worked hard to look after the place whilst Catriona was away. Just a shame we were still not able to use the guest lounge due to Covid regs ( although we had used them at some of our other overnight stops in the previous 10 days ??) We would certainly return if in the area. - it is so convenient for Loch Lomond and western Argyllshire.

We had such a lovely stay here! The bed and breakfast is beautifully decorated. Our family room was delightful. The host ladies made us feel so welcome and we had a delicious huge breakfast each morning.!! They have a little Westie dog who was an added bonus for our daughter and loved cuddles.

It’s a 15 minute gentle stroll into Helensburgh and a 20 minute drive to Loch Lomond. It was brilliant base for us to explore Loch Lomond and we would highly recommend. No 20 cannot be faulted, perfect stay.

We stayed for one night in this wonderful B&B.
It is as many others have described: warm and welcoming, beautifully decorated and with exceptional facilities.
We loved the scones on arrival, having a brandy whilst sitting in the charming guest lounge at the end of the evening, the comfortable bed and lovely bed linen, and the delicious breakfast.
Catriona is delightful as is her daughter, and April too, who is going to keep things running whilst Catriona adds to the family portfolio with a new venture in Turkey.
We will certainly visit No. 20 again if we are in the area, and maybe even Turkey!

My friend and I stayed at No 20 for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff, breakfast was delicious and the attention to detail was like being at The Ritz! The room was very well equipped and stylishly decorated. We can only highly recommend this delightful treasure.
