Detailed Reviews
Great location right on the front with great views over the sea and harbour, we had two rooms on a bed and breakfast booking on the top floor.
Be aware there are 38 steep stairs to climb so maybe not for someone with mobility issues but there are also ground floor rooms available.
The rooms themself were clean and bright with good sized bathrooms and the showers had good water pressure .
The rooms would benefit from blackout blinds as the curtains do not block any light ,also the mattresses need replaced as they sagged in the middle plus there were winter duvets on the bed which made for an uncomfortable sleep.
Andrea and David are lovely friendly hosts and have great plans to continue to upgrade some of the rooms to suites which will enhance the accommodation.
The guest house is in an excellent location near to all amenities but still in a really quiet location with a patio to the front to sit out to enjoy the sunshine and to watch the sunset.
This a good value for money guest house but with a few tweeks it would be great.

The views are lovely and the suite spacious but we left feeling rather cheated as the website had promised a ‘full hearty Scottish breakfast’ and our booking clearly stated that breakfast was included. What we actually got was a basic breakfast welcome pack which lasted one morning (we stayed for 4 nights) and in spite of showing the owner our booking she still refused to give us breakfast and certainly no refund was offered. Self catering is slightly misleading as there is only a microwave and an air fryer - no cooker or pots and pans.

We stayed at the Commodore and can't wait to come back. Two minutes walk from the ferry terminal, on the seafront with stunning views and lovely welcoming hosts. We had a suite so seperate living room and kitchen. The place is spotless and there was bread, milk, orange juice, yogurts, tea, coffee, butter and jam for us.

Lovely spacious accommodation within walking distance of the town and ferry terminal. I will recommend booking the sea view room as the views are excellent. On weekends, breakfast and light bites are available at reasonable prices in the coffee shop.

Just back from an amazing weekend. This is probably one of the best holiday’s I have had in years!! We stayed in the Loch Fad suit which is self catering. Beautiful well equipped and very clean apartment with lovely views of the garden. Couldn’t ask for more friendlier hosts , David and Andrea were so welcoming and very friendly which made our stay on the island so much better. Just a 5 minute walk from all shops/ restaurants ect. Would highly recommended this guest house. Me and my partner will certainly be going back !! Thank you very much David and Andrea

Please don't stay here unless you are desperate. The place is dirty, cobwebs and spiders everywhere. Under the bed was filthy, mattress was very uncomfortable and the shower didn't work properly, no pressure.
The welcome pack bore no resemblance to the picture on the website, when I was leaving and paying the bill. I was asked the owner for my opinion, she didn't like my views and argued back. Unbelievable!!!!

Spent 4 nights here. The view is great, overlooking the sea. The bedroom overlooked the garden and was very quiet. Bedroom was a good size and the bed was very comfy. Located 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and within easy reach of the town. Lovely host, very friendly. Will definitely return.

Booked a suite for a 2 night stay to visit friends and family and was pleasantly surprised. Very good spacious accommodation which was absolutely spotless. Owner was very friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Welcome breakfast pack was basic but functional. Highly recommended.
