Detailed Reviews
We booked for local wedding but covid got in the way, Elaine moved our booking no problem.
The rooms and breakfasts were outstanding, the views and wildlife amazing
Troon is so friendly as was our host.
We had the whole place to ourselves and nothing was a problem.
The local taxis were so reasonably priced, quick and friendly.
We would defiantly recommend this accommodation and there is even a communal room for laundry, cooking, washing and also has a fridge for convenience.
The rooms were clean and tidy and the whole place smells lovely.
Thank you for looking after us Elaine.

Spent three nights at Sandhill House last week with the family (my other and better half, two teenage kids and Molly, our dog). Loved it ! Elaine, the host was lovely / personable and welcomed us upon arrival. The room (Donavan suite) was great with a double and single bed in the main room and a single bed in the smaller room with a large en suite bathroom. Breakfast was gorgeous / varied and as good as we've had anywhere, whilst Elaine went out of her way to provide avocado / oat milk for our daughter who's vegan. Grounds are lovely with a donkey and alpaca (named Gerald by our son) in the field across from the house. Magic!

We stayed in this wonderful house for four nights.
The accommodation is outstanding the house itself is a wonderful example of its type and is exquisitely and sympathetically furnished.
The grounds and surrounding gardens are extremely well maintained and supports a variety of wildlife plus a Shetland pony and Alpaca.
The variety on offer for breakfast was plentiful and the " Full Scottish" was well prepared and cooked.
The hosts Elaine and Peter were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them.
We will return again when we are in Scotland and can only highly recommended Sandhill.

We have just stayed at the B&B and was astounded at the size and quality of the rooms. The house is set in lovely gardens on an 11 acre estate. We were greeted on arrival by Elaine the owner who immediately made us feel welcome, briefed us on the facilities and showed us to our rooms. They were very nicely appointed to the highest standards with very tasteful decor and nice original features including an original cast iron bath that must have been the largest I've ever seen. On returning to the guests living room we were given a cup of filter coffee which was most welcome after our long drive from Tobermory.

Sandhill House is a beautiful property in a quiet location. A cut above most bed and breakfast establishments. Our first floor room was large, comfortable and well equipped and the small en-suite shower room was modern and well appointed. Breakfast was of a high standard. Our hosts were welcoming and Elaine was most helpful in offering suggestions for eating out in the evening. An ideal centre for a golfing holiday and great value for money.

We spent a night here but would love to come back in summer for longer! The weather was terrible which meant we spent more time inside than planned, however this allowed us to appreciate Sandhill House all the more. Our room was beautiful - clean, spacious and lovely decor, with amazing views outside the window.
At breakfast both the service and choice available on the menu was excellent, and the food was great too.
The only small complaint we had was that we could not get hot water for a bath while we were there, so sadly could not take full advantage of the lovely ensuite.
We would love to return in summer to enjoy Sandhill house again - we felt for the price they went above and beyond what we expected.

Lovely place. Owners are so friendly, rooms are spotless. Lovely breakfast options, would highly recommend. We stayed in a self contained cottage, fully fitted out kitchen, small dining area, comfortable sitting room & lovely bedrooms. Lovely touches throughout.
We will definitely be back.

Beautiful building, in beautiful grounds with stunning rooms and great breakfast too!
Booked an overnight stay for friend and myself as we were attending a wedding nearby. We'd booked a twin room, but actually got almost a small apartment. A huge room with seating area, dining area, a double bed, a single bed, a second bedroom fitted out as a child's room with single bed and a large bathroom with full bath and shower. Everything throughout was pristine. Beds were extremely comfortable and well appointed.
Small touches like water carafes, tissue boxes, charging ports on the bedside tables and the little dressing table with a light up mirror for make-up, all just added that extra little touch of thoughtfulness.
Breakfast in the lovely dining room had loads of choices and both my scrambled egg with smoked salmon and my friend's full breakfast were very generous and perfectly cooked and presented.
The owner and staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming; another bonus!
The price for our midweek stay was, I would say, remarkably reasonable and much cheaper than the quality of this lovely B & B would suggest

We stayed at Sandhills House on our way home from a holiday to Islay, WOW... what a fabulous place to stay. The owners have done an amazing renovation of this B&B over the years. From the minute you enter the House you have luxury in every room. We stayed in the Donovan Suite a large room comfortably sleeps 4 as there is a single bed in an adjoining room and an en-suite bathroom. There is so much attention to detail. Breakfast didn’t disappoint and the food was excellent. The grounds/gardens are very well kept with a lovely seated area. A gem of a find and I would thoroughly recommend a visit if you are staying in Troon. It is certainly value for money.

We did not go into the lounge (living room). You can ask the owner..
Sorry we were just visiting and as far as we know there is no place called Sandhill in Ayrshire.
Perhaps you should email the owners of Sandhill House directly..
