Great location, 15 stroll to the harbour or bus stop outside. Stayed here for 1 night with my sister and mother. Friendly staff throughout from domestic to bar/reception staff. Very chatty and welcoming.
Bedrooms are old fashioned but spotlessly clean
The avocado coloured bathroom suite gave me a nostalgic laugh.
General small issues: Would like tea bags covered in the room. Thicker pillows on the bed.

Breakfast was nice and well presented. Our server was friendly and helpful (I hope our tip was passed on for her)
Personal choice but I would have liked a potato scone and beans served with breakfast as I’m not a big meat eater. Tomatoes very sour.
Beautiful poached eggs and bacon.
Would stay again

Close to Two Way Bus Stops, so you can nip into Largs, as well heading to the Great Beyond of Glasgow, if you didn't arrive by car. Willowbank has a very welcoming atmosphere, largely down to the staff, and management who, clearly, want to make sure all needs are anticipated. The rooms are comfortable, and adequately supplied with tea and coffee. Ironing boards provided, on request; as well as assistance with connecting to WiFi. As to the food, the hotel has a VERY good Chef who provides a wide range of menus. Well recommended.

Hotel is very dated our en-suite was poor and very small , best thing was the staff who worked hard and very pleasant. The food was not at all nice and I felt the chef needs to learn how to season food and even the roast potatoes were rubbish. The hotel seems to use a different menu for coach parties than the menu for diners. We were there with Maynes coach party and I had checked the menu before booking where was my salmon starter on Christmas Day as advertised no we had Pate! The service was all at the tables no choice of fruit or yogurts etc just conflakes or porridge. Toast and coffee etc laid out on all the tables before we even sat down so cold toast etc. Well I have noticed hotel is up for sale so I guess coach parties are fed and watered as cheaply as possible, what a disappointing Christmas feast!

After a late arrival, I was given a very friendly greeting and offered some food as I was hungry after 6 hours of driving, even though the bar was about to shut.
After checking in, I was shown to my room which was very clean and comfortable, I enjoyed a good night’s sleep.
Breakfast was fantastic; plenty of it and it was well cooked, not swimming in grease.
If I’m in this neck of the woods with work in the future, I’ll certainly be looking to stay here again.

Our social club took us to Willowbank this afternoon.
The hotel has a nostalgic feel to it, we had a fabulous meal, with four coachloads arriving for dinner. The staff were impressively efficient, food was hot, sauces and dressings were delicious. Tables were cleared promptly to allow us to enjoy the Elvis entertainer who has been booked for the afternoon, staff were lovely and accommodating when a member of the party decided to change her dessert order halfway through.
I had the best peach Melba I have ever had. Would love to visit again sometime soon.

Stayed at the Willowbank for 2 nights from Friday the 3rd until Sunday 5th March with Caledonian travel we were here with friends we all had a great time. Paul the manager was a fantastic host he couldn’t do enough for us he made us feel really welcome nothing was too much trouble he is a great asset to the hotel also his staff they were all very attentive .Yasmin was our waitress during our stay and she was lovely also the chef who went out of his way to accommodate me. We requested a quiet room for ourselves and a ground floor room for our friends and that’s exactly what we got thank you.The bus stop is directly outside the hotel I think it was 3 stops into town and the local ferry which runs every 30 minutes to the island. We will be back soon thank you all Paula and David (room 34) and Karen and Ken (room 3)

Having only lived in Largs this past year I had never ventured into the Willowbank Hotel and so glad we did as I Cannot rate the Willowbank Hotel in Largs highly enough, had a fabulous dinner on New Years Day. Vegetables were cooked to perfection and everything else was very tasty, Paul and his Team are very welcoming and friendly even with a large group in the restaurant nothing was amiss . The staff handled it professionally and never was there a problem everyone enjoyed themselves as far as I could see, and as we were not part of the group we were not treated any differently as our meal was served promptly and efficiently.
We all will be back so don’t pass The Willowbank by when In Largs you won’t regret it . Gerry McAllister

I really don’t like writing bad reviews on hotels especially with the COVID-19 situation and the way the hotel industry has suffered. But things need changing and the management need to know. firstly the staff work very hard and are friendly and do an extremely good job and the place is clean but that’s it so now the bad bits.
The hotel is extremely dated and expensive for what you get. It especially caters for coach parties for elderly guests Also the food is poor cafe quality. Served on very small plates with frozen chips and vegetables and very expensive. We walked down to a hotel down the road after dinner which was busy and we went it and looked at the food and menu. It was cheaper and much better quality.
Sorry Willowbank you need to sort things

Greeted by Paul who is the best example of a great host making us feel at ease at every point of our stay, check in was easy and mums ground floor room was yards from the restaurant, bar service at the tables again served by Paul who could not have been more friendly and funny. Breakfast and evening meal Were excellent served by a lovely young girl again friendly and very attentive. I will mention the evening meal again went to the town on first night and wished I had stayed in hotel for dinner the table of four next to us had a full selection of the menu and it all looked delicious we had the chicken with haggis will be trying this when I get home, indeed one couple had stayed here 17 times. The rooms are clean and perfectly laid out I got room 18 that gave me a slight sea view through the trees sat here with the curtains open watching the sun set brilliant few days relaxing.
