Detailed Reviews
Arrived from England to stay for 3 days for a family wedding. Was greeted at reception with a smile and the staff could not have been more helpful in showing us to our room. We had a room on the ground floor with a walk in shower in the bathroom.
The room had an iron, ironing board, coffee and tea making facilities as well as TV, both the room and bathroom where cleaned to a very high standard. There were 2 outside seating areas, 1 under a glass roof and the other situated in the garden.
The wedding ceremony took place in the "pavilion" a separate purpose built building that had the feeling of being inside a small chapel which gave the service a warm intimate experience. After the service we retired to the Garden Lounge for drinks, a large area which is decorated to a high standard and furnished with comfortable chairs and sofas and then we moved to the main reception area for the meal.
The food was excellent; both at the wedding reception and in the restaurant/breakfast areas. The service by the staff was second to none, they were friendly and they could not do enough for you .
Set in a quiet location surrounded by woodlands and green fields I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the Ballymena area.

My wife and I returned to The Ross Park Hotel after a lengthy absence but the warm appreciative welcome from Mr Keith Carmichael and his staff remained the same as always. The surroundings are homely and tranquil being an oasis I the countryside. Our meal was of the same exceptional standard and consisted of a starter, two main courses, two sweets, a coffee and two drinks all for £50.00. There was no pressure to leave which gave us time to enjoy our meal before returning home.

I stayed here recently this being the first time I have ever stayed somewhere solo. The rooms, although a bit basic, were very clean. On arrival I was asked if I was dining in the hotel only to discover that I only had choice of 5.30pm or after 8pm as all other times were busy. After eating in the restaurant I can see why. The food was lovely, it was Saturday evening and the hotel has a good reputation for food, so if you plan to dine-in book a table when you book your room.
I found the room to be very warm (being a woman of a certain age) and on ringing reception they did explain how to turn the heating down and were happy to do that from their end.
The atmosphere in the hotel was good. There was a nice buzz about it without it being too noisy. I was informed that it was family run although staff appeared to be very busy and didn’t hang around long enough to be told about the nice atmosphere lol. I quite happily sat in the lobby for a while after my meal, reading and people watching.
On returning to the room, the radiator was still pumping out heat. Thankfully both windows opened and I left the curtains open to let cooler air into the room. The radiator did eventually go off.
My room itself looked out onto the terrace, which was empty that night meaning I could leave the curtains open. I don’t think this would be the case had there been a wedding or other function on.
The following morning was a different story as breakfast was in the terrace and I got up to open my curtains and quickly closed them again. No one wants to get dressed in front of an audience and I didn’t want to put folk off their breakfast!
Breakfast itself was average. The food wasn’t as warm as I would have liked it to be but it was edible. There were cups on the table for tea and coffee but I wasn’t approached to see if I wanted any. Again, staff were busy and I’m sure if I had asked it wouldn’t have been a problem.
I had planned to check out and then sit and enjoy a coffee in the lobby for a while before leaving but the shutters were down on the bars and all available staff appeared to be in the terrace serving breakfast, so decided to grab a Starbucks on the way home instead.

From the initial warm welcome and assurance that the waiter would be with us shortly to the fantastically efficient and friendly waitress ,we had a lovely relaxing and enjoyable lunch in this safe and organised Ross Park restaurant. All staff wore visors but this did not detract from their warm and professional attendance at our table.
We enjoyed home made soup, Caesar Salad, Salmon in a cream sauce with lots of crunchy vegetables and potatoes followed by a brandy snap basket of fresh fruit and chocolate brownie and ice cream. All was rounded off with a lovely pot of coffee. Despite the restaurant becoming busy, my request to see an evening menu, was met with a cheery “no problem” before the waitress went to retrieve one.
This high standard of customer care ,courtesy and attention is remarkable. Many an establishment could learn a lot from a visit to this hotel. We are looking forward to returning in the very near future. Thanks to all for a lovely afternoon.

The hotel is very picturesque from the outside with the long driveway.
It's somewhat isolated so looks like a classic "wedding hotel".
The staff were very friendly, I think a couple of the older staff probably owned the place. When we visited the hotel it was relatively quiet, not too many guests.
Food wise, the package deal dinner on our first night was nice... starter chilli chicken was tasty. The steak (Gb£10 supplement) was fine, but the dessert (Knickerbocker glory) was huge. The largest dessert I can remember having.
Second night we ordered from the grill menu.
I had the Chicken maryland, which was a good portion and tasty. Although they added a random sausage to the plate.
I had the pavlova dessert and again huge portions, must've been 1/4 of a large pie.
It was Gb£7.50 for a large glass of Merlot.
The double room was clean, modern and functional.
No bath, but a large walk in shower and a room safe.
There was a smallish/average TV, but I liked the fact it was accessible on the cupboard so I could easily plug in an Amazon firestick and watch my own movies/tv via the hotel WiFi.
The bed was a double divan bed with a spring mattress.
Unfortunately this wasn't very comfortable as the slightest movement from me or my wife caused movement on the other side of the bed. We're used to memory foam mattresses.
Also, the electric switch board in the room tended to emit a low hum/buzzing noise which was distracting at nighttime. It didn't help when the local electric power supply blacked out at 4am and 4:25am across the neighbourhood and that caused the switchboard in the room to loudly switch to the backup generator supply a couple of times. But I imagine that's not a frequent occurrence.
The room view was nice and it was cute to see a number of gray squirrels playing outside in the morning.
Breakfast was a help yourself buffet where you didn't need to specify a time, just wander down between 8-10am or so in your own time, which was a nice change.
All things considered, very friendly staff, nice food, good parking etc. It was only the sleep quality issues that I could mildly criticise... low level noise from the electrics and overly springy mattresses.

Have stayed pleasantly here on a number of occasions over the last 15 years. Always had positive experiences and would recommend to anyone. Not the case now. Have put in special request when booking before, for birthdays and have received lovely gestures such as a few chocolates or a message written in chocolate in our bedroom, not this time though. The hotel is becoming very shabby and filthy. Cobwebs hanging like Halloween Decorations all over the lobby and bar. The rooms are basic, beds in need of replacing, could feel the springs in my back all night. Heating in room didn't work when attempting to turn it down, we suffered all night even with windows open. The dinner, was terrible. Roast potatoes were so hard you could crack your teeth on them and lamb was the fattiest cheap meat I've ever had. Extremely disappointed. My husband didn't receive his dessert either and they offered him to take it to his room..... mmm no thanks! Sad our views have now changed and this hotel has become such a dump. Told reception we didnt have a nice experience and husband never received his dessert and didnt even knock 1 drink of the bill. Went to the tullyglass (not far from Rosspark) in November and it was immaculate and food amazing. I know where we will book in future.

My partner and myself stayed here over the New Year holiday and I have to say the service was superb! Staff were very accommodating and as soon as we arrived to check in we were greeted with a welcoming and warm hello. The food was lovely and the rooms were very clean. The only fault I would say is that the decor is outdated but the service and friendly staff overlooked that. If you want a stay were you feel welcome and appreciated then this hotel is for you.

We live about 10 miles from Ross Park Hotel and we never visited until about 18 months ago. Biggest mistake of our lives. The staff are amazing and the food is even better!!!! We took our daughter and granddaughters there in July last year and the service was amazing. Our granddaughters are vegetarians and their needs were met. Our youngest who is 7 was even given a small portion of vegetarian pasta!!

Had our wedding here and it couldn't have been better, then ensured our day went without a hitch. All the staff are all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Angus the wedding co-ordinator couldn't have done more for our day, and nothing was too much trouble. Richard, on reception was always so helpful when I rang panicking about something. Keith, welcomed our family in and ensured everyone had what they needed, you can tell he looks after his staff as I overheard him praising them for their hard work during the day.
We have been at The Rosspark for dinners etc in the past and the food is absolutely top quality. The unique selling point for us for our wedding was the use of Silver Service which a lot of hotels no longer do for functions and events.
The newly refurbished Garden Lounge is stunning and the perfect place for your guests to unwind. The grounds are gorgeous, lots of beautiful places for quirky pictures.
Absolutely amazing day had by all! Thanks to all at the Rosspark.

We’ve just had a lovely 2 night stay at the Rosspark for a family wedding. The Pavilion and the Garden Room were beautifully decorated, spacious and spotless.
The catering for the reception was of a very high standard - hot plates, hot and tasty food and plenty of it!
Our room was very comfortable with everything we could need.
All the staff were very professional, yet friendly and accommodating.
The food from the Grill menu was very good too - Lots of choice, served hot and presented beautifully.
This was our first visit to Northern Ireland, but hopefully not the last and we will definitely plan to visit the Rosspark again. Definitely recommended
