Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A dreadful place. Old, damp, dirty... its more like a doss house for homeless people than a guest house. It literally stinks of damp and decay. Bedroom was filthy, breakfast was floating in grease, no wireless in the bedrooms, staff smoking throughout the place, windows couldnt open etc etc. Not a pleasant experience. ....

we arrived at hotel and realised recption was in different building. Got to room and there was no heating on, returned that night after wedding and we were freezing. These are really old buildings. Breakfast was good.

DIRTY, DAMP AND HORRIBLE!!!
I had booked to stay here whilst attend a wedding at a nearby hotel. On arrival we booked in at the Beechfield and were shown to our room the Ashfield building, immediately on entering Ashfield it smelt like it had not been lived in for years. It was extremely dirty and stank of damp. On entering the bedroom the smell of damp got worse and we were greeted with a room that would have been more in place in a homeless doss house rather than a B&B. Everything in the room was dirty and would have been more at home in a skip. The carpet was totally worn away, the armchair in the corner had more stains than I care to remember and we did not venture near the awful looking bed. After spending all of five minutes in the room we felt sick due to the smell and were forced to leave.

When I raised my concerns about the standard of the room with the staff it clearly came as no surprise to them and they did not appear at all shocked. Immediately we was offered a full refund which I gladly took and left.

The only good thing I can stay about the place is that it well located for the majority of local hotels, BUTTHIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A REASON TO STAY HERE.

Our experience at ths Ashfield was delightful. The owner and all the staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. A great location for touring all of Northern Ireland!
