Detailed Reviews
Had a couple of nights in this hotel right on the harbour at Mullagmore. We booked a sea view room but it was actually overlooking Donegal Bay, which meant we had to take a short drive to watch the sunset. The hotel itself is showing its age, with uneven floors and a slightly tatty appearance (e.g.cracked floor tiles and damp marks on ceiling in the ensuite bathroom), but both the welcome and the food went a long way to compensate for this. The staff were very friendly and efficient. A word of warning though - there is weekend entertainment from 10pm to midnight on summer weekends - which took place right underneath our room - the bass beat was actually painful on the ears. Had it been traditional Irish music it might have been more pleasant. Would definitely recommend here for a midweek break though.

Sat at tables outside in the sun which was great overlooking the harbour and nearby beach. Food was very good but don’t try and order anything which isn’t exactly on the Lunch menu they won’t do it ! Soup was excellent as was Chicken pesto open sandwich. Owner could have been friendlier but other staff were helpful and lunch was served quickly. Lots of hand sanitizer about but tables should really be cleaned between customers.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, food was wholesome and the bar had a good vibe in the evenings. Breakfast could offer more variety and meat-free alternatives (the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars). Location is perfect for day-trips across Sligo's beautiful cost. Great walks from hotel around Mullaghmore head, with stunning views of Classiebawn Castle and Ben Bulben mountain. Seaview from our room was worth the rate on its own. Great value all round, would recommend.

Stayed for one night with my daughter. We were horrified when we saw the state of the carpets on the stairs and in our bedroom. They were very old and very badly stained. The bedroom furniture and bathroom fittings were extremely outdated. We didn’t eat breakfast even though it was included in our room price because we didn’t want to be in the hotel any longer than necessary. However, I couldn’t fault the staff. All staff members that we came into contact with were extremely friendly, efficient and made us feel very welcome. The location of the hotel is excellent and we loved Mullaghmore and thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the head and on the beach.

Not good value for money. The room I stayed in was very dated, had a odd smell and was very dusty and the carpets were badly stained. Due to COVID restrictions we had to eat at the hotel in the bar. Although the staff in the bar were very friendly the service was poor with about an hour between our starter and getting our main course. After that we weren’t offered the dessert menu and our dinner plates were never collected for the rest of the evening. We moved tables so we could enjoy our drinks in peace without having to sit with the empty plates! If I was visiting Mullaghmore again I would stay at the neighbouring hotel.

We stayed here for the first time last season. Arriving at night, we were met with a great big friendly atmosphere from staff and locals alike, not to mention a lovely fire and lively music. Woke up the next morning to amazing views and a gorgeous breakfast. The location is fabulous, and ideally suited to those of us in need of refreshment, with beautiful walks, stunning natural beauty, good food, and a drop from the top shelf. Cheers to Louise and Pat.

Visited with family. Staff were wearing masks but tables very close together. The bill was extortionate for very average food. Of most concern to us was a staff member telling a customer who enquired about the amount of time she could stay as per COVID restrictions "we don't get too excited about that craic" Later having gone for a walk and realising one of our party had mislaid a phone I returned to find the place crowded. I looked in and saw lots of tables of up to 8 people without so much as a packet of crisps among them

My partner and I spent one night in the "hotel" and it was definitely enough. When we arrived the lady and reception was friendly but it all went downhill from there. The stairs that lead to our room were very dated and had chewing gum stuck to the carpet, the carpet was also very worn. When we got to our room it was not any better. The carpet again was worn away, the skirting board paint was chipped all over and the sink and toilet had large cracks, the tiles were also grubby looking. We then went downstairs for our evening meal. The food was extremely disappointing, I had lasagne which didn't taste of very much and the handmade chips were very undercooked. My partner had the burger which was quite greasy and again his chips were undercooked. We werent alone for our meal as our table was surrounded by a number of small flies. The waitress came and took our plates, which were almost as full as they were when we received them. I did expect her to ask was there a problem with our meal but she did not nor did she offer us a dessert menu. I had to go to the bar some time after to ask for the dessert menu. We normally do not take dessert but as we ate next to nothing for our main we were still starving. Back to our room and the complimentary WiFi does not reach the rooms. Our nights sleep was not any better we could almost hear every word from the room next. When things finally got quiet what we could hear next was not something I ever expected to hear in a hotel. Above our room we could here what could only be described as mice/rats running along our room roof!! We were up early the next morning and still feeling hungry from our disappointing meal the previous evening we were looking forward to a cooked breakfast. The lady that assisted us a breakfast was very friendly but again the food was disappointing. I got the mini breakfast but was only able to eat the egg and bacon as the sausage and white pudding were not at all appetising. All in all a very disappointing stay and for 165 euro! The best thing about our stay was seeing the resident Red setter that sits in the chair at reception. We definitely won't be back. So disappointing to pay such a considerable about of money for one night's stay in a hotel that really isn't a hotel.

Have just been charged €285 for one night in this dump. I have booked hundreds of hotels and without doubt this is the biggest rip off I have ever experienced in a hotel. I say hotel, hostel would be more appropriate. It is masquerading as a four star establishment on Trip advisor. What you will arrive at is a one star dump with threadbare carpet coming up off the floor, rusty moldy bathroom, heater that’s broken and won’t turn off, side literally coming off the plastic bath, I could go on. It is a kip. Which is fine if that’s what you are paying for. But this hotel is giving Irish tourism a bad name by barefacedly ripping the hell out of tourists by charging four star hotel prices. Asked the owner how many stars it has once we saw how bad it was on arrival (when you google it it initially comes up as four star), he said it was two star. I asked why they are charging four star prices. He said people are willing to pay it!! Disgusting attitude. Do not deserve the business.

This Hotel is situated in one of the most stunning and beautiful places in Ireland and I went for rest and relaxation to enjoy it.
The Staff in the hotel were all lovely and under Covid stress they were calm and relaxed while adhering to all the requirements needed. I also loved their freshly cooked breakfasts and evening bar food was tasty and beautifully cooked too.
My Room 102 was SHOCKING especially the Bathroom. Full of MOLD around a very old bath with sides falling off. It had an old shower curtain and water leaked from a very old toilet etc. Constant wet on floor. The Room had the shabbiest old setee in it. And it was dusty. The Bar also was unkempt with dirty windows and Venetian Blinds. I am now reading many of the reviews and looking at the photographs and am sorry to say I am in agreement with many.

Yes they do. They have a large screen when I was there.
No, there is no pool or leisure centre. There is a beautiful beach but unfortunately the weather is not always beautiful.
Hi. No. Not when I was there in the summer time. There had been a gym of some sort but I didn't see it. I know that they have had plans to refurbish things so maybe someday.
The ground floor comprises the , reception bar and a function room , there are no bedrooms to my knowledge on the ground floor to the front of the hotel (sea facing). To be sure why not email the hotel, the management and staff are very helpful.
