We enjoyed Bob and the staff. They all went out of their way to help in any way they could. Real nice people. The lake view and access, camping facilities, game room and pool area are very nice at Birdsong, but we were expecting something more than an older ( and I do mean older ) trailer for our week's stay at the resort. I'm not saying the accommodations were bad, but a group of old run-down looking trailers isn't going to get the good word out. Don't get me wrong, we stayed dry during the four inch rain the passed through the area, the furnace kept us warm during the cool nights and the AC worked fine the couple of days we had to flip it on. It's just the fact that it was an old trailer. Hard telling how long ours and the three or four others have been there. I'm pretty sure the local cats had a home under our unit and the wife thought for sure a skunk called unit 9 home. Or maybe it was one of the cats that got in a tussle with a skunk. The master bedroom was the only room that had any curtains and there was no padding under the carpet. Here again we made do. The boat we rented was just ok. The Huminbird depth indicator didn't work and the motor ran a little rough. In our books, it cost too much for what we got. If you won't be renting a boat, there is plenty of good fishing from the bank close to the trailers. With the area that the owner has, I think he would be further ahead in the long run to get rid of those run down old units and put up some nicer cabins in their place. If you are looking for a real swank place with loads of amenities, this place isn't it. If it's just you and the wife or a group of buddies in for a weekend fishing trip, this resort will do. Just keep in mind don't expect anything fancy.

We stayed in our 42" RV down by the marina, beautiful views on the water. Very nice pool. We went through the museum and watched the pearl video no tours this day. The pads were close together and wifi is only at the community building. Wish they had better wifi but the people we're very nice to work with!!

I cannot speak for the renters and the condition of the trailors they have. We pulled our TT and found the services were good. The power / water / on-site sewer were very accessible from all sites. Very easy to maneuver through the campground. As for the person who had to park in the road...... there is a huge open parking lot before the building that is identified on the 10 ft x 10 ft sign stating to turn left for check-in. Customer service was top-notch and accomodating. The only thing this place really needs is a beach area to the lake. There is no local swimming hole on-site. If you're really wanting to lake/river swim without a boat -- Go to Eva Beach. (15 min drive on 191) or Buffalo River (Exit 143 and turn right -- 5 miles on your left).

Yes, this place is off the interstate (9 miles). If want to camp off the interstate just stay at the Pilot Station then!!

Worst boat rental experience ever. The entry of the campground is a trailer park. The office itself is in a trailer. We were there only to rent a boat. Having rented boats from a number of locations, I expected this one to be similar to all previous experiences. The boat are in terrible condition and very old. The boat had duct tape across the entire back seat, duct tape over arm rests, broken ladder, broken door held on by zip ties, torn canopy, table with 4 holes from all cup holders missing/broken, the list goes on and on. Even the spiderwebs on the boat hadn't been cleaned off. The most incredible thing is this boat rented for almost $100 more per day than rentals at nearby marinas at Buchanan Resort and Paris Landing. Those locations rent boats in pristine condition. Would NEVER go back and recommend anyone looking to rent a boat to check the nearby resorts.

The staff was very kind when going through the booking process BUT, upon arrival, I would hardly ever call this place a resort or cabin. It's a trailer park, literally. We pulled in to mobile home upon mobile home. We booked a CABIN by the lake, this was not that. It was also one of the oldest homes, covered in spider webs, rust, dirt and duck-tapped windows. ( I literally cried when pulling up) It smelled of urine with stains all over the floors and bugs in window seals. The furniture was all 1970s. We debated sleeping in our cars and boat after arrival. Will not ever rent here again.

I do not recommend staying at this park. The 'cabins' are converted mobile homes and you will be basically staying in a trailer park (although they charge downtown nashville prices for the 'cabins'). We had to change rooms three times because the first was actually a converted back yard storage shed, and the second had dog poop on the porches. The staff is very nice and this place was probably great in the 70's but now it is very run down and not worth the price they are asking.

The people here are probably the most friendly I have met at a campground. The owner and his wife came by to make sure we knew where everything is. We are 200 feet from the Tennessee River with as good of a view as you can find. The only problem is we are just here for 1 night.

Birdsong Marina was 5 minutes from our amazing Birdsong cabin, which was perfect. We wanted water time, so we went to Birdsong Marina because it was so close. Only choice was to rent a boat for a full 8 hours. No hourly or half day rentals. Paid almost $450 for a pontoon and a tube. Turns out there was a whistle but no horn on the boat, a ladder that only had 2 rungs and didn’t extend into the water, a gas gauge that didn’t work, and no first aid kit onboard because “they don’t anticipate there will be any accidents.” We didn’t anticipate that one of our boys would cut his foot on part of the boat either. Brought the boat in once to tray our boy and came back for good after 3 1/2 hours because we didn’t want to run out of gas. I got into the water once and would love to have jumped back in but with the inadequate ladder, I struggled so much to get back in the boat that I couldn’t do it again. 😳 They told us to find our way back to the marina, look for the downed poles and broken sign (see the photo). The lake is beautiful!

We had a great time. Our cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. I slept great. The evening view of the water and sun setting was breathtaking. Bob and Judy and the rest of the folks there treated us like family. You couldn’t find nicer folks.

This campground is absolute trash. It is a glorified trailer park. The campground allows a colony of feral cats to roam the campground and get into, pee on, and overall destroy campers belongings. This is because they do not have appropriate trash bins for a campground. Dogs roam around without collars or leashes; twice I have been run down/attacked while attempting to walk my dogs on leash. Though it is plainly written in the rules that there is no cruising children who are clearly underage, cruise through the campground at unsafe speeds nearly hitting people, cars and campers. As if this is not enough: there is a major problem with the sewage: three times we dumped our black tank and because of an issue with their plumbing the human waste came out of the inlet meant for the sewer hose in the campground next to us and flowed all over the road and into the Kentucky Lake. We reported the issue, the campground told us it was fixed. The next time we dumped our black tank, it happened again. We reported it again. Again they told us it was fixed. For a third time, when we dumped our black tank, 40 gallons of human waste flowed out of the inlet next to our camp and into the Kentucky Lake. We reported it and they have done nothing at all this time except allow human waste to bake on the pavement outside our camper door for 48 hours. If you can help it: DO NOT STAY HERE!
