Detailed Reviews
Everything was just blah. Not real bad, not good. The location from the resort to the beach is longer than most families would want to walk especially with chairs or sand toys. There is no water view from the property.
The pool closes exceptionally early at 5 pm and there really isn’t any other common space to gather to have a few drinks or play cards and the rooms weren’t really big enough to do any activities if the sofa bed was extended.
Our refrigerator was musty smelling and the floors left our feet black. The beds were comfortable and parking access to the room was good.
If you get a great deal, go for it. Otherwise there are plenty of other properties on the island.

The location was in south beach are of the Island. Great location and can walk to beach, restaurants, bars or you can rent a bike and enjoy trails all over the island.
We had not visited in over twenty years and loved it all over again.

We love Hilton head, but we were very disappointed in our unit at Southwind 2. It smelled moldy even after burning candles and cooking. the worst thing was the beds!!! All of the beds were awful. One night I ended up sleeping on the floor using cushions Fromm the couch. The mattresses had no support at all. When we called management, they had us look at another unit, but the mattresses were just as bad. This was such an important thing to us. We will not stay again. The location is fantastic, but too bad they put in such cheap mattresses!

After working and schooling from home for 3.5 months we needed a getaway. We chose Hilton Head mainly because of its casual approach to Covid. We were recommended to Spinnaker. We were never more disappointed in a hotel before. We were greeted at the door to our room by roaches. There were Pistachios and shells in the cushion of the chairs. More roaches on the floor and in the bathroom. When we called the front desk to tell of these issues we were dismissed. There was no ‘customer service’. My kids were thrown out of the pool at 5pm. Really??? 5pm???? When we asked the housekeeping staff for clean towels A serious attitude came along with the towels. We were never so disappointed in a hotel before.

I’ll start by saying I was offered 3 nights at a Spinnaker resort in Hilton Head for $100 as long as my husband and I go to a 90 minute sales pitch. The resorts looked great online. When we arrived at the visitor’s center as instructed, we learned we’d be staying at the Spinnaker Hotel, not a resort, half a mile from the beach. Upon arrival at the hotel there were no front desk staff to check us in. My son walked around opening doors until he found an employee who said she didn’t “know how to do the front desk”. The hotel is comparable to Best Western. It’s too cool (50’s) to use the pool and there are no other activities or amenities as advertised. There is coin op laundry in the building. We’re renting bikes offsite for $100/2 days. If I had known where we would stay, I never would have flown my family here. We extended our stay by going to Savannah for a couple days before heading to Hilton Head.

Stayed the week in January 2021 at southwind villas in Spinnaker at shipyard....
Front desk Vanessa was an extremely knowledgeable and helpful person to start my vacation week.. my wife and daughters so much enjoyed the amenities of shipyard and the private beach access..
The two bikes that came with the villa were so much fun and I have great way to get around the complex .. the villas were well maintained and cared for..
I would highly recommend Spinnaker at shipyard for family vacations or just getting away from home..

I have not been able to travel but wanted to leave a review about the customer service experience when trying to get the package I paid for. I purchased a promotional package and insurance from Anna. I had a 4/3 in a 2-bedroom condo at Cottages in Hilton Head for November 2022. I have a copy of the confirmation letter I received. I was forced to cancel due to emergency with my Mom. Ana asked that I call her when ready to reserve. I called her only to be told I had no insurance and had purchased a hotel for 3/2. I sent her proof of insurance and she updated the file but though I sent proof of the 4/3 at Cottages. She indicated that I wanted something I did not pay for. I spoke with a supervisor by the name of Kayla who began conversation by supporting Ana’s claim. I asked her to read all notes in file. She returned to phone and said, “I have confirmed that you were promised a 2-bedroom condo at cottages in Hilton Head. I will transfer you to agent to book. Ana said she was told to process a refund for $99 and I received a check. I did not ask for a refund and I paid more than $99. This is extremely poor customer service and I will leave a review on every possible site including BBB until someone calls to rectify this matter

BEWARE. That’s all I can say is beware. They will take your $99, and turn you away saying you need your husbands permission even though my solo income and credit far succeeds their requirement. So I lost $99, because I have to ask my husband who Isn’t on any of my homes, cars or bank accounts for permission to consider a timeshare.

+1
We loved the resort itself but the Unit (2216) that we were assigned to was tired, smelly, and in great need of maintenance and updating. When we first walked in there was quite a musty smell and we could notice right away the carpets needed to be replaced. All the appliances have rust on them and the cupboards above the fridge almost fell off. Furniture was well worn and the bottom of the patio door was rotted. We were on the bottom floor and the guests above us could be heard every step they took. The floor creaked very badly and these people were up at 4 am and 5 am in the morning.
This Unit was not worth $2200 for the week!
