When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very easily accessible off of highway 85!! We had a wonderful weekend stay at Candleberry Inn. Hal and Elaine were extremely hospitable and kind. They were able to accommodate our very late arrival time. Which we appreciated. The inn was very clean and the rooms were nicely stocked with towels, washcloths and even toiletries. The breakfast was always hot and very good. For the price of the rooms, this stay was much better then any hotel or other bed and breakfast we have stayed at in the SC upstate area. I would recommend this bed and breakfast anytime. We did not use the spa services or hair salon so I can not comment on those.

We stayed here on our wedding night before flying out on our honeymoon the next morning. We were greeted by the enthusiastic and very classy owner upon our arrival. We stayed in the Blue Haven Honeymoon Suite. It was $150 and worth every penny of it. The entire house is modern and very clean. There is a jacuzzi in the room as well as a stone stand up shower, fireplace etc.. Very nice! We had dinner on site on the back patio. It was candlelite and very good. We were full! The residence is only about 3 miles from the airport, so it was very convenient in that aspect also. We will be staying there again very soon. It is a good place to "get away" without really even going far. Greenville's downtown restaurants and shopping are also very close. We did not take part in any spa treatments, but they are offered and we will be doing this next time!

Charming and cozy B & B close to the GSP airport. Would definately stay again. Stayed over a Saturday night for a family event and was so pleased the next morning to have the owners bring an excellent homemade breakfast to our room. And then off to church they went... "We choose late service, had to have a nap after that big breakfast lol"

The good: Very nice home! Spa services were wonderful...Masseuse and manicurist were super sweet and did a very good job.

The bad: My massage took place in the library which is the first room you see when opening the front door of the house. During my massage the inn keeper entered the room (without knocking) and left the door open while summoning my friend to the another room. In my humble opinion, if you know someone is getting a full body massage (meaning they are nude), you should announce yourself by knocking and wait to be invited in and definitely don't leave the door open. When the door opened I looked up to see who it was and I could literally see out the front door...talk about uncomfortable.

Additionally, there was a wedding going on the evening of our stay. Seating for the wedding guests went literally to the door of our room. For about 3 hours we felt obligated to stay quietly in the room trying not to interrupt wedding set up, guest arrival, and ceremony. After ceremony (during reception) we left for dinner and felt very out of place and underdressed even just walking through the inn to the car. Guests were asking "are you leaving already'?" It was actually kind of embarrassing. If I were the bride, I wouldn't have been happy to know guests in sweatpants could/would be walking through my reception. As a guest I think we should have been made aware that "there will be a wedding going on and for the hours of x to z you will need to stay in or out." We would have probably still stayed but would have planned our evening differently.

The ugly: The spa package we purchased included lunch. Due to wedding set up, we had to sit in the salon (the area we got our mani/pedi) to eat. The worst part was there was hair in my tuna sandwich! I didn't say anything because sometimes these things happen and I just removed the hair and continued with my meal. The next morning for breakfast there was a piece of hair in the butter! Needless to say, I was less than pleased with the fact that there was hair in some part of both of my meals. Since we were leaving shortly after breakfast I chose not to say anything.

I have stayed at many B & B in the past and this is the first time I felt it necessary to write a review. I would not stay here again and I would be very tentative about recommending to a friend.

What was interesting about this review was the fact that both guests seemed and expressed pleasure concerning their stay and experience with my checking in on them at appropriate times. There was no note of dissatisfaction or displeasure expressed in any manner until this review appeared. So sorry about your disappointment! Communication about your concerns on the spot will help the staff at your next vacation stay!

My husband Jeff and I stayed at The Candleberry Inn B&B a couple of years ago, and we will always cherish that time we had together there! We were VERY impressed with everything, especially Elaine cooking and serving the food on a cart personally to our room!!! You just can't get that personal anymore, and it was delicious! The room and huge bathroom with huge jacuzzi tub were GORGEOUS and we had a very restful and rejuvinating time !! The grounds are beautifully kept with lots of flowers and it has that solitary feel that you need when you "get away from it all !" We felt like Royalty! Thanks Elaine for your hospitality!

My husband and I were recently married at this B&B. The wedding was lovely and the owners were very accommodating. The food was delicious and the venue was lovely. We did have a florist and a cake brought in. But the dinner they provided was very pleasing. We spent the evening at the B&B. The bed was very comfortable and I found the room extremely nice. A breakfast of Belgium waffles was absolutely delicious - one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. The owners were unobtrusive but available when needed. Checkout was a breeze, as there did not appear to be a set time we had to be out. All and all, I was very pleased. I did not utilize the spa, but found all accommodations to be very satisfactory.

My wife and I stayed her before leaving on our honeymoon. The room was perfect and the owners were the best. Breakfast was excellent. A beautiful place that is close to home but feels miles away from all the hustle and bustle. Will defiantly stay again. Truly great people.
