We stayed a weekend at the Westin and were upgraded to a suite due to low occupancy. Understandably, they did not service the room daily unless requested by guest but they would bring towels, water etc upon request. Ample sanitizer was available throughout the property. When I got home, I realized I had left 3 shirts in the closet. I called the hotel and Jeff at reception was very helpful in working with housekeeping to ensure the items were found and mailed to my own. I look forward to staying again next time in Greenville.

THE WESTIN POINSETT HOTEL is luxurious, historic, grand and charming. The moment you drive up on the cobble stone entrance, you feel like royalty! The valet greets you with a welcoming smile, check-in staff are impeccable and concierge, Janice Smith is a class-act… very delightful and infectious charming personality.

Our room was immaculate and in pristine condition. Housekeeping as always very friendly and accommodating. But wait, there’s more… The kitchen staff, Cisco made us vegan muffins! What a treat and a pleasant surprise. The Westin Poinsett Hotel of Greenville pays attention to detail and even their guest. After a busy day, wind-down in the lobby listening to pianist Keith.

It's the best location to venture out on bike or walking, allowing you the opportunity to enjoy the quaint downtown area. We look forward to our next visit!

Check in was smooth and the staff was great throughout. The room nicely appointed and clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The little extras that make it a 4-star were much appreciated too.
Hotel itself is gorgeous with a 1920's upscale decor. You *cannot* beat the location if you're wanting to explore Greenville's downtown. Easily walkable to everything downtown. Parking is either valet or self-park ($7) in the garage immediately behind the hotel.
Will absolutely stay here again next time I visit Greenville.

Location is excellent right in middle of downtown Greenville. Due to covid no valet but upon check in you can use a room key ( with green dot, not all keys have the green dot) to come and go from public parking garage located right behind the Westin ($7 a day charge).

Spoon bread restaurant in lobby serves a full menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Lounge in lobby open and serves food until 9 and closes at 10pm. Many food and drink choices within easy walking distance of hotel.

Rooms are nice, quiet and comfy.

Recently hosted a custom luncheon tour in the Spoonbread Restaurant with the help of Mary and Chef Wolf. The guests were delighted with the service, selection of food, presentation and preparations. The dining room ambience is one not to be missed if you have never eaten here it is sure to please any pallette. The room is decorated in a soothing blue motif with soft shades of blue and white. The original tile floors reflect a time gone by, and the service is impeccable. This is truly an experience one should not miss when visiting this hotel and the guests on our tours appreciate overwhelmingly. Don't miss it if you have a chance to experience their breakfast or brunch service.

Our visit to the Westin Poinsett was a lovely one for an anniversary. It is an older hotel, but that is the charm. It has a very interesting background and many of the original attributes of the hotel atmosphere have been preserved. It was a refreshing change from the loud music and harsh lights of some of the newer hotels.

We had read about the customer service at the Poinsett and chose it specifically for a special occasion. Although we did enjoy our time there, the customer service was not top notch compared to other hotels. There were times when guests were at the front desk waiting for someone to come out to help them. Although the people at the front desk were cordial, they didn't go out of their way to answer questions or provide anything extra. We found out that many of them were new and I guess hadn't learned the importance of great customer service.

Janice (the concierge) is another matter entirely. She is wonderful and made our experience there for this special occasion top notch. Janice knows the history of the hotel and took us on a private tour, showing us interesting things and sharing little tidbits of knowledge. She made reservations, suggestions and was the best representative of what customer service should really be like. Also, the bellman at the door were friendly and smiling each time we came back to our hotel.

Parking is right next to the hotel, but it's difficult to find a spot sometimes without going up multiple levels and then riding the elevator back down in the parking garage. That wasn't a problem once we figured out the lay of the land. $7 for parking was very reasonable and we felt safe in the parking garage.

The piano bar was extremely enjoyable with appetizers and drinks in a casual setting, reminiscent of bygone times. Very relaxing and great food. We ate there for our evening meal one night and plan to go back when we are in the city.

Breakfast in the Poinsett restaurant was delicious and moderately priced for the amount and quality of the food. Service there was again "so so" but we enjoyed dining there once for breakfast. There is also a little coffee shop a few steps from the lobby that has very reasonably priced items, some apparently made in the Poinsett restaurant. Grab and watch the people go by or take back to your room.

Most (maybe all) employees had on face masks as did some of the guests but we did not wear them. Common areas seemed to be cleaned periodically.

Housekeeping did a wonderful job with our room. We did ask for it once during our stay and they were prompt and left the room extremely clean and tidy.

The reason I didn't give the Poinsett 5 stars was the "so so" customer service (other than Janice) that was a little surprising based on other reviews. There are other high end hotels in the area that are less expensive, but visiting the Poinsett is definitely something everyone should do at least once.

Dear guest, many thanks for your detailed description of your recent stay. I am glad that you generally enjoyed the look and feel of our historic hotel; but, I am, at the same time, disappointed that our service was not as impressive as you could have rightfully expected. Service is generally a strength of ours and I will remind our team to be impressive every day and with everyone. We hope you will try us again at which time we will be more convincing. Many thanks again!

I just returned from a three night stay at the Westin Poinsett Hotel in Greenville, SC. The hotel was built around 1925. The lobby area and conference rooms are quite grand. We stayed in a "Junior Suite" which was very roomy, nicely furnished, and provided a completely restored marble bath. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown. It is surrounded by restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff was most pleasant and professional.

I would definitely stay here again when in Greenville.

Dear guest, We are very appreciative for your great feedback. The hotel has indeed first opened its doors in 1925, but went through a lot of changes over the years. It was completely restored in 2000 after having been abandoned for several years. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to seeing you soon again.

Almost 100 year old hotel. Very helpful staff from the front desk to the ladies who keep the rooms clean. Our room, while not large, had everything we needed. We definitely appreciated that the tub/shower “floor” had a non skid surface. The bed pillows were too puffy (we forgot to bring our own from home..) but this was our only issue. The mattress was terrific. If you want to tour Greenville, you won’t find a better location for your hotel than the Westin as it is right in the middle of everything. Valet parking is $20 a night plus tax and parking your car yourself is $7. If you don’t want to come and go, the parking garage is right behind the hotel so you might want to simply park your car yourself but the valet parking does make things easy. Bottles of water are available at the front desk any time. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to come back again!

Dear guest, Thank you for having taken the time to share your positive experience with others. We are indeed celebrating our 100 years soon, but please know, our hotel has been completely restored several years ago, when we selected the Westin brand. Our location allows you to reach all major destinations by foot; or ask our bellman to give you a ride in our golf cart. Thank you again.

I'm not talking about classy (i.e. upscale) places although the Westin surely meets that criteria.

It starts with the fact that it is a historic hotel in a nice downtown area. Nice open spaces inside and out.

It includes (and this is the most important) staff who nicely greet you, always smile, have time for a chat and who all seem to care that you are having a nice stay and who are willing to go out of your way to satisfy your requests. When my wife wanted black tea and they only had coffee in the room, the front desk staff person found her a couple of tea bags and personally brought them up to our room.

It includes one of the nicest waitresses we have ever met - Silvia. Ask for her!

It includes management that must support that staff as an easy-going helpful staff can't truly be helpful without management support.

It includes the fact that it is downtown yet they don't try to overprice food and parking (you pay the regular rate at the county garage behind the hotel even when you pay through the hotel). I was amazed at the reasonable food prices compared to most upscale places.

No, my wife and I are not associated with the hotel in any manner, shape or form. Nobody offered us anything to write this review and I would NEVER accept anything for any review and always tell it straight. We're just nobodies who stayed there for our anniversary and who were treated like we were someone really special.

That's what a hotel with real class is all about!

This hotel is the best! Right on Main St. we had a corner room that overlooked Main, it was great! We heard no noise at night, ask for a higher floor! Our room was very nice and clean.
The valet staff are the best! We were met on arrival by Jimmy, he was so friendly and made us feel right at home. Gave us great recommendations about things to do and restaurants. We also met Alan who was very nice.
We ate breakfast at Spoonbread restaurant each morning, was included with breakfast package when booking hotel. Cindy met us each morning with a smile and coffee. Food was very good. Bar in hotel was great also. We would go there for an after dinner drink. All of the hotel staff that we came in contact with were great and we felt very safe there. Mask wearing throughout hotel. Cannot wait to return to the Westin in Greenville!

I forget the fees, but the better option is to self park. The enclosed garage is across the alley of the hotel, and the hotel can bill for it so you have unlimited come/go. i'd not pay to valet at this hotel
