Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love staying at Red Roof Inn. Been here
A while. Donna exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable. Housekeeping supervisor left and Donna should have been considered for the position but instead they how someone else that has to come ask Ms. Donna questions on what to do. If they would have given her the opportunity to have that position you would see things changing for the better

I stayed here for four days. The first room I got had two full beds and had an AC unit that was very worn and barely worked. I request a move to a king bed for my last two days and it was a cleaner room with good AC. They also gave me a courtesy by charging me the same rate on the king room as the two fulls. The front desk is friendly. Overall, the place is clean and quiet at night and a few people were walking their dogs around the property. It's close to the interstate but you can barely hear any traffic noise. The hotel itself is tucked back into the woods. I wish the WiFi was a little faster but it got the job done. There is a QuikTrip nearby for all your snacking needs.

the staff is great here but the cleanest of the room is something else. When I walk on the floors my white sock they turn black. They need to spend time on cleaning floors and wipe down. The ac was dirty, hadn't been clean for ever

This is the first review I've made even though I've stayed at 5*s and 1*s throughout the world.

Only reason I'm doing this is that people will always place negative reviews, but rarely will voice their positive comments. Just human nature.

I called Red Roof Greenville and asked for several specific requests to Ben at the front desk.

I requested a 1st floor room due to physical issues, but also asked for a room that faces inward since they had two buildings available on the property.

To make my request even more difficult, I requested a room with a single King bed with microwave and refrigerator. Then, I topped off my requests with an early check-in as I'd be arriving around check out time.

Ben told me he would monitor the availability, but due to their Covid 19 issues with cleaning, I should check back with hourly and he would let me know. I did and about 11:00 am he told me he had the exact room I needed and would hold it for me.

To anyone visiting Greenville, this motel is located with quick access to Downtown Greenville and the technology center ICAR. For a "budget" motel I'd highly recommend it do to front desk support, cleanliness and access to Greenville and surrounding areas.

After check in, we were greeted by screaming children, women and a fat man throwing bedding and mattresses out of the room across from us. I went to the office and complained. We went to dinner and when we returned, the mess was cleaned up. When i inquired at the office about the incident, I was told the room was under renovation by the GM.

We travel with dogs, so our options are few. The next morning, while walking my pups, i came across the man in charge of "renovations" getting out of his car...naked.

This location has the opportunity to be the best especially for pet owners: off the road and lots of greenspace.

A solo traveler would not be safe here. Too many sketchy guest, lack of interest my management and an isolated location.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone. They went above and beyond to fix what hotel.com had messed up in the middle of the night. The general manager puts customers first and was super understanding. He personally came to the room and resolved the issues that were of no fault of his own. Most people are rude and have poor customer service but this place is a 10 star. The ladies make sure its super clean, cozy and exactly what anyone would hope for. Check them out. Thanks again guys!

Dirty all over especially the edges of the floor but including the tables, sink, counter, and even the toilet a bit. I wiped down some of the floors and it came up brown. It smells strongly of wet dog and I can see fur on the edges of the floor. I wish I had cleaning supplies. I feel very uncomfortable sleeping here. The bedding looks okay. It's a small room as well but I wouldn't mind that if it was clean. I'm not going to stay at a red roof inn ever again.

Well, my finaces grandfather passed so we drove over 150 miles from atlanta to greenville for the funeral. i booked the rooms on May 31st. i got there sunday afternoon it was only going to be one night with two rooms. Well, the mean heavy set lady at the check desk told me as i was walking through the door that they were booked. i ignored her because i booked mine three days before. so i walked up the the front desk and she said we are booked all weekend ma'am. I told her that i had reservations and she said they had nothing available. and i said that doenst make any sense i booked last week and now all the rooms are taken. she didnt even ask me my name or take my info. until my mother in law said well can you just check the name ------ to see if there is any room under that name is one of the booked rooms?. she tapped on the keyboard and she said yes but we were booked before u made the reservations so you will haveto go and find somewhere else to sleep. good luck trying to find another room b^%@#.. i was floored it took everything i had not to jump over the counter,,.. so i got on the phone with the reservation number i called and notified them of this evil, rude, mean and no customer service having wench that was at the front desk. they said to just find another hotel and they would try to take care of my accomodations.. i ended up staying at a nasty la quinta on woodruff.. ugh. but after reading the other ratings and reviews about this hotel i should have known this hotel was some bs... ugh!!!!

We stayed at this Red Roof for three nights. When we arrived, we were told we could not get into our room until 5:30 pm although check-in is much earlier. They offered us a smaller room that was available then, so we took it. They were going to charge us the higher rate for the room we booked and we had to argue to get the rate reduced because this room had less amenities.
On entering the room, it looked ok. But I went to the beds and when I pulled back the bedspread on one bed, there was dried feces caked on it. There were black specks all over the sheets. On the other bed, when we pulled down the bedspread, there was a stain of human fluids on the sheets, through to the mattress cover, and on the mattress. There were black hairs all over the sheets. It was obvious the maids had just pulled up the covers and never changed the sheets between customers. We went down to ask for someone to fix the filthy sheets and bedspread, they handed us sheets and told us to change the beds ourselves. The bathtub was dirty, and there were no shampoo and soap.
We tried to check out and get another room in town, but hotels were full due to a special event.
The television is extremely old and 3 of the channels were totally fuzzy and did not come in.The air conditioner did not work. It either was on full blast or stopped completely. There was no fan.
The next day we were gone all day and when we returned, we found that there were no towels left in the room and the bedspreads had just been messily pulled up. No vacuuming at all and there was trash under the beds with dust on it. We went to the office to complain and they handed us an armful of damp towels and told us to take those.
The next day we were gone all day and once again, the room had no towels, not water glasses and no soap. One of our keys also did not work. We went to the office and once again were given damp towels.
When we returned from dinner, once again our keys did not work. Also, there were 5 teenage boys carrying beer who had been checked into the room 2 doors down from us. They were running on the top floor hall with buckets of ice to obviously have a party.
We went to the office to have new keys made and started to complain about the overall poor service and accomodations we had had. Marietta the desk clerk looked at us and said, "I don't take complaints, I'm pregnant." She wouldn't listen and said, "It's not my problem." We went back to the room and the keys still didn't work. We once again walked back down and asked for keys to work. We got attitude from Marietta.
At checkout, we still had the rip-off charge for a safe fee despite the fact that we had specifically said we did not want to use the safe.
FILTHY HOTEL, HORRIBLE SERVICE, BAD ATTITUDE. One of the worst Red Roofs in the country. Avoid it at all costs.
