Detailed Reviews
Overall, the hotel itself was okay. Service started out good as the front desk allowed a friend to leave a package in our room before we checked in. It went downhill from here. We arrived around 11:15 am. There were plenty of rooms available and obviously ours was ready since they allowed a package in our room prior to our arrival. The clerk told me that it would be a $30 charge to check in before 3:00 pm and that the payment would have to be in cash. I asked him if he could just add it to the bill and he said NO, it has to be in cash. We needed to check in so I gave him the cash and asked for a receipt. He said that it would be on my bill. Next he called my room before I had the car unpacked and told me that it would be $20 for my pet. I had already told him that I had a pet when I checked in. I asked him to add it to my bill and he asked for cash. Told him I didn't have it and to please put on my bill. When checking out, the $20 charge for my pet was on the statement, but he took my printed receipt and handwrote $30 for early check in on the receipt and gave it back to me instead of it printing on my statement. He did sign the receipt.
I have never heard of a hotel charging for early check in if the room is ready and the insistence on cash was very suspicious. Feel like I was ripped off for $30.

I was booked to stay the week, but lasted only one night. The place is very worn. The entire downstairs carpet was wrinkled and uneven showing evidence of water damage. The rooms and the common areas smelled of mildew and were musty. I hate to think what caused me to scratch and itch all night. The air conditioner ran, but did not cool very well. The owners apparently have not put any money in the place's upkeep and there is no maintenance man on staff. On a good note the staff were VERY understanding and friendly and did what they could to make the stay bearable. The breakfast provided was OK. I could handle it for a one night stay, but no longer.

I stayed one night while on a business trip. I preferred to stay in Edgefield rather than go out of way to either Augusta or Aiken. I was not disappointed. The hotel was quiet and my room was clean. I would stay here again if I return to Edgefield.

+1
The hotel needs ALOT of cleaning. The hallway carpet was disgusting. The towels wasn't clean that was in the room. We was assigned one room, went to the room and the door was jammed, room 2 the TV was broken, room 3 the sheets and towels was dirty. Morning breakfast didn't have enough waffle mix. Looked for front desk and he was walking from the store and in the bag he had beer. Was informed about the mix when he came in. He proceed to walk in the kitchen area to get the mix without washing his hands and filled the machine. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my enemy. The remotes didn't have no backs on them. One of the rooms had a 19 inch tv and another had a 32.

Edgefield Inn is a nice hotel. Clean and comfortable, with a decent breakfast to boot. The area has a McDonald's rt next door, huddled house across the street. I recommend it. It's not too expensive. I also enjoyed the downtown square

Unusually large for where it is. Staff was pleasant and the room was clean and comfortable. It was equipped with a small fridge and microwave. A modest continental breakfast is available. Wifi works best in the main lobby. A pleasant pause before heading on down the road.

Truthfully, I have never stayed in a hotel that was in such horrid condition. It was so bad that I wouldn't place my bare feet on any floors. It's a shame the owners have let it go so badly. Windows, floors, walls and bathroom were just filthy. I feel badly for the employees who have to defend the owner's lack of attention. It seems like there is absolutely no maintenance.

The location is close to Augusta and the Masters. Motel is an easy drive to and from Augusta. The lobby is pleasant. The upstairs room was large but worn as was the carpet and walls throughout the building. The most offensive item was the mold around the tub in the bathroom. It seems to me that this place has very limited use anytime but the Masters. Compared to other place in the Augusta area the room price is OK...only at Masters. The Thursday night appetizers in honor of masters was good.
With just a little more effort to clean tubs, replace carpet...need not be top quality... and paint walls much more satisfactory to all guests.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and helped with our requests. There is no elevator but we had no problem getting our bags up the stairs to the 2nd floor. Reasonable rate for a double queen room which had plenty of space for the family. We would stay again the next time we visit the area.
