Detailed Reviews
I had to relocate to this hotel during a storm on Christmas Day morning and the staff was especially kind allowing me to check in early. The hotel was clean, quiet and convenient to area shopping. Since I only stayed one night I have no idea what amenities were still available during the pandemic, but I appreciated the comfortable bed and a refrigerator that did not over freeze the food I had to transport with me.

This hotel proved to be the perfect "waiting room" for me! My husband had early morning surgery with an overnight at Bryn Mawr Hospital and I was not allowed inside due to COVID restrictions. I called the hotel the day prior to surgery to ask if I could wait in the lobby until check-in since I was dropping my husband off at 5:30 am. Amanda assured me I could hang out there and possibly get in a room by 10 am. I arrived at the hotel around 6 am and Tia was at the front desk. I had a reservation but explained to her that Amanda said I could wait in the lobby until a room was ready. Tia graciously checked me into a room immediately!!! That was such a blessing since we got up at 3 am to drive 1.5 hours and had the stress of surgery along with where would I could wait safely until I could get into a room. The room was clean, quiet and so comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located not too far from the hospital and near stores and restaurants. During my stay (until noon the next day), Laura was working the lobby. She was so sweet and kindly helped when my husband called the hotel frantic because I wasn't answering my cell phone. She also assured me I could stay in the lobby after check-out time if my husband was not yet discharged. This hotel provided me with 30 hours of comfort and safety during a stressful time. It is a well-maintained property with a wonderful staff! Thank you!

This was where all of our wedding guests stayed. Rooms were great as were the grounds. Staff was very pleasant. Our one negative was the buffet breakfast the next morning 8 to 10. Everything was set up on time and then absolutely no one came to replenish. I went once to ask for water. They did that and disappeared. It wasn't until my husband went and complained that they started checking on us. We paid a lot including 2/$149.95 setup fees and a hefty 22% gratuity. Don't understand the 2 charges because it was poorly managed. The gratuity was unwarranted.

Dear smr1989again - thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding your stay at the Devon Courtyard. I apologize that you were not happy with the service for breakfast, this is not what we like to hear from our wedding families during such a wonderful celebration. I have made an adjustment to the final bill as a gesture of good will. I would also like to share that the day after your event a credit was made for the additional 22% that was charged in error. I am not sure if it appeared on your card by the time you have shared these thoughts but you are correct that this was a duplicate charge and was corrected. Thank you for sharing your family with us and we hope to see you all again!

We have stayed here in in the past. It’s really gone downhill. They charge an exorbitant price knowing there really aren’t any other hotels in the area. They skimp on the towels, (they only give you 2), give you one small bar of soap, and don’t even give you the throwaway hand lotion. They only clean the room every other day and don’t tell you when you check in. Breakfast isn’t included (unheard of with almost every other hotel chain). And it could use a renovation. Their electric current doesn’t even allow you to charge your IPad unless you shut it off overnight. The AC could not be used because of the loud roaring noise. am cutting them a break with the 2 rating.

Thank you eaglesclaw12152 for sharing your experience with us. I apologize that you felt that the price was not inline with the hotel offerings. We are very competitive with the other hotels in the area and there are many within a 5 minute drive. In regards to the amenities, the hotel offers large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in addition to the bars of soap. Any additional items are delivered upon request including any additional towels. We started this process during Covid so that our guests knew that the items were new and fresh. Breakfast at the Courtyard brand hotel has always be a paid breakfast as we serve Starbucks and a full menu or sometimes have rates that breakfast is included during the weekends. We hope that you will give the hotel and Team another chance to host you and your family in the future.

Though it seems to have been renovated in the past few years, this hotel needs maintenance help. We stayed in 2 different rooms for a total of 7 nights. The first room didn't have a functional security bolt in the electronic lock, and there was peeling paint on the shower ceiling. The second room had a broken power outlet by the sink, pink mold on the shampoo/soap dispensers, a bathroom door that was hard to close, and cleanliness was clearly lacking (especially in the sink). Also, some of the front desk staff could be more friendly and helpful when guests check in. Despite signage requesting guests wear masks, most don't and staff mask use is spotty. WiFi speeds are slow (13Mbps) and get very slow at peak night time hours. There is a 5G cell tower nearby, which helps if you can use that instead. There is only a small refrigerator in each room, with a roll-out table (which also may be needing maintenance, as was ours which had loose legs). Luckily there are many restaurants and supermarkets nearby for takeout food.

First of all, this was what I call the usual "Marriott experience". The staff was friendly; the hotel was clean and modern; the room was updated and sparkling clean; and the overall experience is what I expect when I stay at a Marriott property.
I read some of the "negative" reviews and can categorically say that none of them were appropriate during my visit. The food was pretty good in the Bistro (it's not gourmet fare, after all), and in sum the experience was very positive.
Always looking for that one thing that could have been better, and the only thing I could mention was that the Bistro menu should be either printed, or on the TV Hotel page, including hours. While it was no big deal to walk down there, it would have been extra nice to view it from my room and know when the Bistro would be open or closed. This is such a nit-picking comment, it didn't change my opinion of the visit one bit, but just a suggestion.
Housekeeping cleaned and replaced towels daily (despite what others may have said in their reviews), and I never passed an employee in the hotel that did not say "Hello". The management should be proud of all the employees on the property.
Somehow one of the control-boxes for the TV got unplugged before my arrival. I called the front desk and within 10 minutes there was a knock on the door; the young lady surveyed the situation, located the loose cord, we plugged It in and it worked! While everyone would like perfection every time, sometimes a little issue shows how much the staff really cares when a guest has a question. Thank you all for a fine visit.

You can do better…
The lobby space is upgraded, but your “Bistro” was closed on Sunday and Monday. Why? The mattress in my room caved in - I rolled into the divots from over use. The service requests I made via the Bonvoy app were not accommodated (e.g. ask for extra blanket/towels). The extra blanket and pillow provided in the room had clearly been used and sitting open in their case (gross!).
The staff when asked for help were friendly and eager to help. No knock on them.

Thank you Birdi101 for sharing your experience with me. I sincerely apologize that the items requested were not delivered prior to your arrival and they were not as fresh as they should have been. I sorry to hear that the mattress in your guestroom was not as comfortable as our Marriott Mattresses are known to be. I appreciate your kind words regarding my Team and will use your feedback as a training opportunity.

We have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Devon several times and have always had a good experience. Our room was clean and modern and roomy. Our only complaint is that there was no room safe. The bathroom was large. The surface of the tub was a bit slick...beware. Breakfast was not included in the rate, but the breakfast offerings were quite appealing and diverse. The hotel is in a quiet, safe area. There is a beautiful walking path nearby. The front desk staff members were invariably pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended.

I was visiting friends and booked this hotel because they claimed to be pet friendly. When I arrived, they slapped a $100 charge on me for having a dog. There websitye doesn't show this charge - very deceptive. They then assigned me a room that had the bed unmade and towels on the floor when we entered it.

Gary S - I understand that you are very upset about the Pet fee and feeling like you were not told about it. It is posted on our website as it is on all Marriott Hotels that are pet friendly. It is hard for me to understand why you would have not asked prior to bringing your pet to the hotel. No matter where you stay, what hotel chain, anyone who allows a pet into the hotel charges a fee. You signed paperwork during check in agreeing to the fee, we did not slap the charge on you, it is posted on our website and explained to anyone who calls asking if we are pet friendly.

For the area and price, great hotel. No breakfast. Very quiet at night even though we were near the elevator. The desk attendant on orientation did not know all of the pricing rules but fortunately the manager was nearby, overheard our conversation, and really helped us out and saved us money.

Thank you for your question. While all of our Guestrooms have refrigerators, only the suites have microwaves. We do however have one in the lobby for all guests to use.
I am truly sorry this situation occurred and we at the property, at Guest Relations and corporate Reservations could not assist you in finding your reservation.
Hello and thank you for your question. We do have items such a yogurt, eggs that can be cooked any way you like them as well as various breakfast meats and fresh fruits. I hope these items are what you were looking to enjoy while you are at the hotel.
