Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As the title says, this was my families (children ages 9, 7, & 5) second stay here as we returned to Sesame Place. We first stayed in 2018 and really enjoyed ourselves, however, this time wasn't the same. The hotel looked the same and the front desk staff was very attentive. In fact, the same employee who was very polite and kind that checked us in back in 2018 was the same to do so this trip. I appreciate his kindness and he is a shining star for the hotel. As for positives, I mentioned that the front desk staff was great, parking is free and easy and the pool was nice. The location is great in terms of restaurants, gas stations and it is about 10-15 mins from Sesame Place.

As for the not so nice, the maintenance staff had to come to our room and frankly, he was not very cordial, but he did do what we asked (unlock the bathroom door). The room itself was not very clean. There were a few strands of hair in the bathtub and my wife found a pill on the floor near the window. We didn't bring these issues up to the staff as we could tell they are understaffed. There is NO free breakfast offered so I suggest bringing breakfast items with you unless you wish to pay the cost. Also, the restaurant is NOT open on Mondays so keep that in mind.

If we return to Sesame Place we will probably select a different hotel package as this hotel is lacking. It is a shame because we really enjoyed our stay last time and had high expectations. Kudos to the front desk staff though. Keep up the good work.

Dear crowe525, Thank you for taking the time to post about your stay. I apologize to hear that it was less than expected. Our industry was hit very hard during the pandemic and we are still trying to recover. I was happy to hear the front desk staff took good care of you but was concerned hearing about maintenance and housekeeping. I will be speaking to both department heads to share your comments. In the future please let us know of any issue so we may have the opportunity to make you more comfortable. We are working to get the outlets opened on Mondays as we continue to build up our staffing. We are also planning for some renovations to begin in the fall that will also enhance the property. Thank you for staying with us and sharing your concerns.

My husband & I stayed at the hotel for one night. It was just okay. Our room was by the pool so was woken up at 6am to screaming kids in pool. Also, checkout time is noon my husband went out of the room at 10am and the keys were already deactivated so he couldn’t get back In using the key. He went to front desk and reported it to employee and they never did anything to correct the problem.

Dear joelisa21, I apologize about the noise issue you mentioned regarding the pool. We open the pool at 7 am on weekdays and 9 am on weekends. I apologized if the staff opened it earlier than scheduled. As for the keys they are programmed to expire at check out time and I will look into the key system to ensure they are programmed correctly. Thank you for letting us know.

It's the worst hotel I've ever been at.

The windows were faced to the inside pool, so no air in the room at all!
You will breathe bleaching powder in your room and it's wet like in swimming pool. It was not possible to sleep at all the night we stayed there.
Also there was not day light in the room, even at day time - a pool with artificial electricity was all we could see.
Moreover a door in the bathroom couldn't be closed because it was not properly built into the doorpost.

Cleaning crew entered our room twice in the morning without knocking the door. And the sign 'do not disturb' was missing.

We regretted a lot that we stayed at this hotel!

Dear Cleopatra312, Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your stay. I apologize your stay did not go as planned. In the future please ask to have your room changed if it is not what you would like. Our goal is to make all guests as comfortable as possible. However, if we area not aware of a situation we can not address it. Normally the pool side rooms are a premium because we have so few of them and they are normally requested. Again I apologize and hope you give us the opportunity to show you our normal level of service.

1. Customer service during check in was poor, rushed, dismissive, and did not make any attempt to accommodatein correcting pricing for using incorrect payment method.
2. Recommend this place get rid of the carpet, the place feels dark and sad. Like an episode of American horror story.
3. Rooms smells like old grease and carpet is filthy, not swept.
4. Bathroom was ok, you can tell that the soap left in the sink was soaked and dried up.
5. Found dried food around the room floor.
I wish I could get my money back 😪, for the price peopke pay, this should not be affiliated with sesame street. Place needs a lot of improvement.

At check-in the front desk service was terrible. There was a minor issue with the card that could have been resolved immediatley but I was asked top step to the side so they could help someone else, by the way I just had to confirm via mobile app it was me using the my card. The room linen was stained, outlets didn't work, television was broken also. The hotel offered us breakfast to make up for it and everything my family ordered came out wrong and overcooked.

IMG, how come this hotel can be an official partner of the Sesame Place?? First of all, the room is very smelled smoky. I believe the rooms were smoking room before. In addition, No restaurante for a dinner. We needed to have a dinner at a sports bar with 2-year old kid. No kids menus - they provided very salty chicken tender as a “kids menu”. Orange juice came with an open lid so he turned over. It’s unbelievable experience. I never use here.

Dear holacomoesta, Thank you for taking the time to post about your stay. I apologize to hear it was less than expected. Our hotel is 100% non-smoking. However, we can not tell what people do behind closed doors and unfortunately some guests do not follow the rules and smoke. If we can find evidence of such we do place a $400 penalty on their bill. We do our best to clean the room of any odors but obviously in this case we failed and I truly apologize. Please let us know of an issue such as this prior to leaving so we may have the opportunity to make you more comfortable. We could have moved you to a more acceptable room. Thank you for staying with us and we will work harder to win back your loyalty.

Price for me was better than the far less comfortable place down the road where I used to stay for over two decades. The beds are very comfortable. I came this time for a sad occasion, a funeral for a close and irreplaceable family member who died unexpectedly, so I was stressed. I needed to sleep. I didn't sleep well due to the behavior of other guests in close proximity but, most of what was within the control of the management was as good as can be expected. I suggested installing pneumatic door closers on all doors to prevent slamming. The breakfast area was immaculate and quiet (in stark contrast to my prior venue accommodations as alluded to) and I enjoyed unlimited good coffee in a quiet adult environment all four mornings of my stay. I do recommend this hotel and I will definitely return home, hopefully next time not for such a tragic reason.

Booked this location with our Sesame Place package for the indoor pool only. It’s a 12 minute drive to the park and most restaurants. Back to the pool - grooooossssss!!!! They gave us pool wristbands but clearly that was a joke. We just survived a pandemic. We’ve stayed at plenty of Marriott’s over the last two years that did 90 minute pool reservation slots. Here it’s a free for all for the locals and we heard security tell the front desk he wasn’t dealing with “them.” Gross. The pool can not be clean. We had a room overlooking it so we saw first hand. Google why it smells so much like pool “chlorine.” It’s not chlorine. Oh and no coffee on Monday morning in the lobby. And no restaurant on property unless you want to sit at the bar with your kids and eat things that are prepared in a microwave. Don’t waste your time staying here. Oh and if you want a luggage cart at 9am on a Monday to check-out go find it yourself on one of the floors. Terrible is an understatement. Feeling terrible for the friendly staff. Find a better place to work.

Dear davena2022, Thank you for your post. I apologize it was less than expected. Our pool is inspected weekly by an outside company and it has been deemed safe and clean. We did use to assign time slots for our guests during the height of the pandemic but have since opened up the pool for all of our guests. The wristbands signify you as a hotel guest. I also apologize that we do not offer coffee on Monday mornings but we do have complimentary coffee in all guest rooms. Thank you for sharing your comments with us. We will take them under advisement as we continue to maneuver around this ongoing pandemic.

Hotel and room were ok. We went to our room and then down to the restaurant. The bartender was very friendly, the bill was high and the quality was ok, but you pay for the convience. We did however notice a charge on our card for $177 after checking into a room we had already paid $97 for, when we asked we were told the charge was $100 incidental( high but ok) and room taxes. Upon looking further the room was billed incorrectly by the guy who checked us in. The gentleman who looked into the problem was very accomadating, but we are glad we noticed the issue and didnt just leave.

Is pool opened
Answer from JenR
The pool is opened at limited capacity due to Covid. There is a sign in sheet with timings available at the pool area with a designated amount of swim time (currently 1.5 hours during week and 1 hour on weekends- subject to change) and is based on availability. A maximum of 5 people per guestroom. Hotel can not guarantee swim time with any reservation.

The hotel is not that close to Philly. Expect at least a half hour drive. I doubt there's a shuttle.

The hotel has free shuttle within a five-mile from the hotel. Early check-in is usually given based on availability of the rooms so you might want to contact the hotel day before the arrival. I have not heard about the complimentary breakfast given when the booking is made via app.
