We stayed in cabin # 3: there are road signs offering good directions into the cabins. The main roads are paved but going into the cabin area it is a well kept gravel road. The cabins are in a circle: the outer cabins face into the woods and the inner cabins still have woods but not as nice view. The deer visits were nice

You walk into the cabin passing through a screen porch with two rocking chairs. The cabin itself is immaculate: very clean and smells great. You are meet with homemade cookies. The gas fireplace is nice and warm and there is a easy remote to regular the fireplace. They have a air-conditioner/heating unit again another easy remote. The bed is really comfortable with end tables and enough room to walk around. Small table with chairs and small kitchen area with refrig and microwave. The bathroom is big: nice shower, a jet tub for two, bathrobes and slippers and the bathroom floor is heated. The cabin is clean, comfortable and well kept.

Complimentary breakfast at the cafe every morning 830a-930am Chef John is fabulous: he is very nice and talks with each guest and his culinary skills are outstanding. Fresh yogurt with fresh fruit and homemade granola. He prepared fresh french toast, pancakes, waffles and eggs puff pastry. His food is excellent.

If I could make one recommendation: they have a loyalty club: you get a card with a stamp and if you get 4 then you get a free weekend. There is a BUT. You have to stay in the cabins during each of the 4 seasons. That is ridiculous to expect old people to come during the winter months. If you care for your customer it should be 4 times regardless of the time of year they stayed in the cabins.

Regardless: these cabins were gorgeous and the breakfast outstanding and I would definitely recommend and we made reservations for our next stay.

I am pretty picky when it comes to where I stay overnight, especially if I’m going to relax, get a well needed break from my darling children, or celebrate (as we were this trip for our 10 year anniversary). And especially now during Covid-19. I am the kind of person who will spend hours searching for just the right atmosphere and aesthetics and now safety precautions. Check in and check out were contactless. Our cabin was ready early which gave us time to use the bathroom and unwind for a bit after our drive before hiking (trails on the property although we didn’t even get to them with so many state parks nearby). It was beautiful and very well maintained. Everything was clean, the bathroom had heated floors, and there were detailed touches everywhere. The professionalism and hospitality of each staff member we came in contact with (5 different people) was ABOVE and beyond. The cafe food and breakfast were delicious and in a gorgeous setting. It is no surprise they do so many weddings here. My husband and I each received a spa treatment which were both excellent and we felt very safe with the cleanliness and sanitary precautions they put in place. Do not hesitate to book this place if you are looking for a luxury cabin in a pretty setting with hiking/boating nearby.

Every aspect of our stay was SUPERB. From ease of check in to departure all went exceptionally well. We stayed in one of the cabins which was immaculately designed and clean. The furnishings were well matched to the cabin and setting. The location is well situated near skiing in the winter, hiking all year in Ohiopyle, and whitewater rafting in the summer. The property is nicely developed with a variety of facilities including a chapel, cafe, and tavern. Freshly made breakfast provided each morning and the evening dinner offers a nice variety of high quality, yet, rather inexpensive fare. Each selection we had was fresh, unique, and tasty. Very good!! We had the charcuterie board which was enough for 3, the special chicken chimichanga with beer cheese, the chicken quesadilla , and fresh veggies which included roasted brussel sprouts and asparagus. Super flavor.

This was an exceptional lodging and dining experience for us and the Laurel Highlands is a piece of paradise in PA. You will not be disappointed in any way.

Thanks so much to the property owners, managers, chef, and staff for a wonderful experience. We will be back in the spring.

Don’t let the price of this lodge trick you in to thinking this is a luxury hotel. We stayed the first weekend of December 2019, paid $589 for 2 nights in the Master Suite. The room is pretty, the fireplace is awesome. We found the bed to be lumpy. There is no housekeeping service and there is no staff on property after 7 pm. There is a phone number for emergencies. The TV channels did not work. We were able to access our own Amazon account to watch a movie on it though.
The cafe was a walk-up counter to order beer or wine (2 red wine selections, both lower-end, not sure white) with a blackboard food menu. You could sit at porch tables or inside the event venue, which was banquet rounds with Chivari chairs. The food was very good. Breakfast was also served in the banquet room, which was a set menu offered for one hour, 8:30-9:30am. Chef John was very personable.
The lodge is a group of buildings. So we stayed at the Main Lodge, thinking it would have the liveliest ambiance. But we were the only ones there. You check in at a separate building, the pool/hot tub is a separate building. So walking to/from hot tub gets a little chilly. But the hot tub was great.
As far as activities, the location is rural, but there are things to do close by. On the lodge website I read about horseback riding. But the two suggested places were over 4 hours away. I sent an email inquiring about that a few days prior to our arrival, but as of today, have not received a reply.
We did not meet the manager, Matt. Maybe because we were only there for the weekend.
In summary, in my opinion, this is a pretty lodge and probably a great place for a wedding, or if you are looking for a secluded getaway. But it was a little quiet for us, and lacked some of the services we were expecting, like TV channels and housekeeping.

My husband I just spent 3 splendid nights in Cabin 6 ay Oak Lodge.
The cabin was spice and span, cozy and had all the amenities a person could want for a time of relaxation and comfort.
I used the whirlpool which was high end and the heated floor in the bathroom was also a nice touch.
We were so pleasantly surprised by the breakfast we enjoyed each morning, especially in the Covid time. We fully expected a pretty-packaged, self serve deal, but oh no! The delicious chocolate chocolate chip cookies that were in our welcome bag in the cabin should have hinted at what was to come, but Chef John’s breakfast menus each day surprised and delighted us. The menus vary between sweet and savory, and each meal started with a yogurt parfait with home made granola (pumpkin spice, maple spice) and fresh berries. Chef John greets each guest warmly, serving up his deliciousness and sharing his wealth of knowledge on the property.

Chef John also suggested we try the property Cafe for our last dinner, and it too was excellent.

What a great experience we had. We highly recommend the Oak Lodge.

Oak Lodge is a hidden gem in the Laurel Highlands
We stayed here for New Years weekend, and it was the
perfect getaway. The cabins are beautifully
maintained and spotlessly clean. Oak Lodge staff pay
attention to the smallest, yet most important details.
We arrived to the room and enjoyed the most
delicious cookies. From the heated floors and
immaculate soaking tub to the robe and slippers and
Modern Apothecary soaps, the experience has been
absolutely remarkable.
The grounds and property are very well maintained.
The chapel is breathtaking. The Cafe and the outside
fire pit are wonderful places to relax and enjoy a glass
of wine. The music and ambience is very relaxing and
laid back.
The food is amazing in every way. Chef John makes an
amazing breakfast, and the high end ingredients used
are from local farms and suppliers. We had the Charcuterie board as an appetizer and the beer cheese burger for dinner. Food was above and beyond all other places in the area.
We will definitely visit Oak Lodge again! Already booking our second stay!

Doubt we ever go back. There were 9 of us and some kids. If you are trying to eat healthy, this is not the place. Waffles, french toast, pancakes. 1 salad choice and it was the size of a salad you get with your meal at most restaurants. Those that got the french toast said it was good but expensive for a few slices of bread dipped in eggs. Plated nice but not worth the price. Some were half way done before others got their food. If you are Keto, Mediterranean, Paleo, or just trying to eat healthy, not worth the trip.

Stayed in cabin #13 which was spacious , well appointed , with a comfortable bed, the panorama of windows brought nature in, the fireplace kept us toasty on the cold mornings & evenings. Heated floor in the bathroom was a bonus. The microwave & fridge came in handy. Traveling during covid the check in & check out were remote. Both staff & visitors were masked @ appropriate times. Breakfast on the indoor-outdoor patio was delicious & varied by Chef Jon. The view of the authentic lodge buildings added to the natural beauty. Thank you to the staff Connie ,Alyssa and owner Matt for making our stay excellent and personal.

Amidst Covid, my husband and I still wanted to celebrate our anniversary, this time we decided to stay in state. Pennsylvania has so much beauty to see and experience and Oak Lodge did not disappoint. We stayed in the Master Suite in the Main Lodge and it was spectacular. The property is so well maintained and has every amenity you could ask for. The pool house and hot tub were very nice. The Cafe on the property has delicious food with beer and wine only and was a great spot to unwind after a day of hiking. My memorable take away from Oak Lodge would be the staff. Matt was kind, informative and very friendly. A big shout out to Chef John, the Bed and Breakfast chef, his talent and passion shows through in each of his delicious offerings, BUT hands down the salted caramel cookies were my best bites all weekend. We felt very safe on the property given masks were required , the tables at the cafe were social distanced and check in and out were contactless. My husband and I will be definitely be back. Thanks to all of you for the opportunity to forget about the world around us for a weekend.

We went to the Laurel Highlands last week to finally see the Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece Fallingwater, and decided after much research to stay at Oak Lodge. We are very glad we did. The cabins exceeded expectations: bigger than we thought, private, and quiet. Everything was spotless. and clean. The breakfasts prepared by Chef John were delicious, and he was remarkable because he cooked the food, served it, cleaned up afterwards, and still had time to share his recommendations about things to see and do in the area - a great ambassador for the Lodge and the area. The only thing I would improve are the hiking trails - the maps are not great and the signs leave something to be desired. But overall - this is a great place to stay if you're planning a trip to the Laurel Highlands.
