My husband and I were in the area for stargazing at Cherry Springs and chose this Inn hoping for some luxury. We requested two beds and were booked in the apt over the garage which has three bedrooms. Seeing the porch where our door to our apt was, we were struck that it was just a jumble of random furniture, a ladder, cords, and tools. Not exactly inviting...The stairs leading up to our apt. were dirty and the decor is super dated. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfy and the water pressure in the shower is stellar! There was a big basket of snacks in the kitchen but 95% of them were past the expiration date. Our nights were relatively quiet with the window A/C humming along. Only the bedrooms have A/C so the hallway, kitchen and bathroom will be much warmer. The owners provided a very nice sit down breakfast at 8:30 a.m. - no cell phones allowed at the table. There are lots of choices - muffins, yogurt, cereal, a fruit cup, and a main course. There is no choice when it comes to the main course - one day it was a cup of rather dry scrambled eggs and the next day it was french toast with sausage. I don't care for french toast or sausage so my husband ate as much of mine as he could. It would be nice if they offered a choice for breakfast to prevent waste. We highly enjoyed our conversations with other guests over breakfast! We did get to check out other rooms in the actual Inn and those were much cheerier than the apt. we were in. Jay, the owner, seems to always be in the middle of a renovation project so signs of that are visible, as was a motorcycle that was always parked on the sidewalk leading to our apt. Jay is VERY knowledgeable on the area and we were able to enjoy many of his suggestions. If it is summer, he will give guests a pass to the local swimming pool. The town of Port Allegany is a snooze - not much to do or see, and limited choice of restaurants. But there are many interesting things to do and see within an hour's drive. This is a very comfortable place and Jay is very personable and makes you feel like family. I would steer clear of the apt. over the garage unless you want a kitchen and/or you have kids.

This was a wonderful place to stay! This was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast, as we normally stay in hotels when we travel. However, we needed to be in town for a funeral, and we are so pleased that we stayed here.

We stayed in the Hazelnut Room and the adjacent Pine Nut Room located in the Annex, a separate house very close to the main house. A shared bathroom joined the two rooms. This was a perfect arrangement for us, allowing us plenty of space and privacy for all members of the family. The rooms were cozy and nicely appointed. The beds featured plush mattresses with luxuriously soft sheets, which made for a great night's sleep. Having bathrobes in each room was a nice touch, as were the assorted toiletries in the bathroom. Both rooms had televisions, and our room had a mini fridge. The entire area felt safe and secure with ample parking. We liked that we could lock our rooms and also the house if and when we left. The Annex had a spacious living room/common area complete with a TV and plenty of seating, but also board games, drinks, and snacks.

The breakfast in the morning was superb. The owners were so kind, considerate, and courteous. They were fantastic cooks, too! Our breakfast was delicious and filling, and we even had a few muffins packed to go.

Staying here reminded me of staying with good friends or family. The owners were warm and welcoming, our rooms were homey and charming, and they made us a hearty breakfast before we left. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Jay and Sharon are excellent hosts and shared much of the local history and points of interest in the nearby area. The maple suite above the garage provided a clean and comfortable oasis, and we spent most of our down time while on the premises out on the porch grilling and visiting with family and friends. They were very accommodating with gluten free options at breakfast for our kids with celiac, and everything was tasty. Highly receommend staying here if you are in the Port Allegany region.

If you are visiting the nearby Kinzua Bridge, the trails of Allegheny National Forest, or touring the US along historic Route 6, this inn offers a quiet and comfortable stopping location a block off of Port Allegany's main street. Upon our arrival, owner Jay offered us a free upgrade to the facility's suite, with its full kitchen and plenty of room to spread out. Next morning, Sharon prepared us a fabulous baked egg breakfast entree. On learning that she and I were from the same hometown in New Jersey, we instantly connected. Jay and Sharon have been welcoming guests to their Victorian home for 24 years and take great pride in their duties as innkeepers and hosts. This has been said many times before but was again true: We arrived as strangers and left as friends.

This is our second trip to Port Allegheny and second stay at the Inn in Maple B&B. Our first stay here last year was our first stay in a B&B. We were impressed with the rooms; how cozy, how cute, they have their own bathroom, kitchenette with amicrowave and snacks with more snacks and drinks in the main living room with books, games, a larger TV, firm pillows, and privacy away from the main house/ office. We came back to stay again during our fall leaf tour. The innkeeper was so nice last year and his wife a fabulous cook. They asked about allergies and intolerances. They remembered mine from last year and I informed them that only the raw onions are a problem, yay. Really enjoyed our stay both times. HOWEVER, if you plan on coming during off season, you might want to plan your dinner elsewhere. Last year and this year we had a hard time finding a place that was open past 4pm that wasn't a bar. I know it's not the innkeepers fault, just word of advice. You'll have a full and filing breakfast at the start of your day, though.

Jay & Sharen are the epitome of top-notch innkeepers with their expertise in hospitality, local events & history, and culinary skills. The Inn is beautifully appointed, with themed sleeping rooms, complete with one LEGO room for children in the Annex! Every morning, a 3 course breakfast complete with fruit cup, home-made( & baked from scratch) muffins, and entree of the day. Coffeepot and tea water are always available, as are snacks, cold water and sodas. Family gatherings are fun and encouraged; the more the merrier!

Beautiful home with a lot of original charm. Personalized experience and attention to detail. Toiletries were in the bathroom in case we forgot something, snacks and drinks provided around the clock. Delicious breakfast. We appreciated the engagement from the owners at the time of our check-in, as we came and went, and at breakfast. We appreciated the gift of a coffee mug to bring home with us. We highly recommend taking advantage of this experience.

I called a month before the trip, and Jay said there was one room available for us. Perfect, as the Oak is our favorite room! Upon arrival, he said he was moving us to the suite to the side of the house for no extra charge! This had 3 rooms, 4 beds, a living space, full kitchen and even washer/dryer. A whole family could’ve stayed here, and we were lucky enough to get it for just us two! Jay and Sharon have hosted us several years and every trip outdoes the previous one. They are lovely hosts and the Victorian home is beautiful. I always suggest this B&B to anyone who is going to this area.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this lovely inn for one night traveling from Kinzua to the Poconos. I don’t have enough great things to say about our experience. Jay and his wife were warm and welcoming even in the late evening when we arrived for our check in. It’s always a concern traveling into small towns on whether or not we would feel welcome being part of the LGBT community as well as being a multiracial couple. Neither of those things were a concern when we were greeted at the front doors of this delightfully quaint inn. We stayed in the Butternut room complete with an en-suite bath and kitchenette that was perfect for our late night snacking needs. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. If you forgot your toiletries they were readily available. Wifi and television are provided which was handy for getting our following morning mapped out while we watched She Hulk. Plenty of snacks were provided and our lovely hosts made a wonderful home cooked breakfast in the morning. Jay was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on routes to take to see interesting sites on our way to our destination. If and when I travel through this way again I would definitely stay here in the future.

On the way to the B&B we checked out the town of Kane, visited the Kinzua Bridge area, and looked around Smethport. At the B&B, We stayed in the Magnolia Room! Great bed and we loved the gas fireplace. This room has the hardest mattress out of the rooms in the house which I prefer. We spent time talking with owners, playing with the dog, looking at the wood work and archetecture of the house, visiting the glass park, walking around town, and enjoying Moes Pub. This was my second time at this B&B. Thye owners are incredible people. I wish they were my neighbors. This B&B and the owners are military and veteran supportive and friendly and participate in B&B for Vets on Veteran's Day. I low supporting buisinesses that support our past and present military. Everything in our romm worked as expected. We had hot water, great water pressure and the room and bathroom were 100% clean. They have beautiful robes to wear too!. After a great night's sleep, I went down stairs, got some coffee, and sat on the giant front porch while the sun burned off the fog, and the towns' people started to stir. Breakfast was delicious. Local maple syurp for the french toast and some really great suasage. After some more great conversation with the owners and other guests, we were on are way. As we made our back home, we traveled south though Benezette to see the elk.We hightly recommend this B&B!
