Check-in at this property was seamless, with the front desk staff displaying efficiency and professionalism. Notably, they acknowledged my Bonvoy status—a small but appreciated gesture that underscores the hotel’s commitment to loyalty members.
The guest room is spacious and well-equipped, featuring essential amenities such as a mini fridge. However, the lighting is noticeably dim, even at full capacity, which may be a drawback for those who prefer a well-lit environment.
Comfort is a strong suit here—the bed and pillows provide adequate support, and the heating and air conditioning functioned without issue. The bathroom, while of standard size, was let down by weak shower pressure, which may be disappointing for guests who value a strong, refreshing rinse.
Breakfast is included in the stay, and a small Starbucks outlet on the ground floor offers added convenience. Dining options in the area are plentiful, with excellent restaurants within a half-mile radius, making this an ideal location for business travelers looking to step out for a quick meal.
Overall, this hotel delivers on efficiency, comfort, and location, making it a solid choice for business stays. However, improvements in lighting and water pressure would enhance the experience significantly.

A great experience in this city center hotel. Front desk staff was welcoming and fortunately for me, allowed early access to my room on my stay of one night in advance of our bicycle ride on the GAP rail trail. They allow bike storage in the hotel, so that’s very convenient. I left my kindle reader in my room when I checked out, and when I called the next day, they had found it and kept it for me. I never expected it to be returned, so I’m very pleased with this integrity. Rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet- what I expected in a Marriott, but not always what a guest gets. I would happily stay here again to enjoy more time in this surprisingly lovely city

We arrived Thursday June 18th, and received quick and friendly check-in. Pleasantly suprised to be upgraded to a suite! We did have to walk down a few steps to get there, but well worth it.
We had a super spacious living room area with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Sliding barn door into sink area, with tub/toilet in room to left and large king bedroom on right.
Now it was on the courtyard, and you do hear noise for those smooking outside or sitting at firepit, and Fri. night they had a singer/guitar player which was pretty loud(but he was good).
The restaurant is closed due to staffing issues, but you can get breakfast next door (not included, and in my opinion you can do better elsewhere).
Location was great, lots of restaurants on the same street. Some have very limited menus, but all were good. Scarpino's was yummy Italian, we also enjoyed tacos across the street at a Mexican place. but I don’t remember the name. Make sure to go to the rooftop bar across the street - great people watching.
Valet parking was easy, and if you call down ahead of time we always had the car waiting. All in all, this was a great stay fir our Anniversary and we would recommend this place for sure!

Room was absolutely filthy. Toilet has not been cleaned in quite some time, sink dirty and clogged, shower covered in mold, floor filthy.
Clearly, the hotel/rooms need a facelift, but thats not to be used as an excuse for not cleaning properly.
Onsite restaurant is closed.
Looking back at previous reviews, they mimiced mine and were all answered with a canned Msg stating they would look into it. Clearly they are not.

We checked into room 528 for three nights. It was a basic king room facing the courtyard. The air conditioning worked well and there was good water pressure.
Our bed was comfortable but I didn’t sleep well. There was a very funny chemical smell in our room throughout the three nights. We heard conversations through our vent. At 7 o’clock in the morning door slammed and there was loud talking in the hall. Then the screaming & smoking started in the courtyard. We had a smallish window, the room felt dark, we had to put on 6 lights.
We had a bottle of soap, shampoo, conditioner in the bathroom. There were no other toiletries. Without housekeeping we had to keep going down for clean towels, laundry bags, toilet paper, tissues….
There was no complimentary water or coffee. We had an outdated, small drip machine. We purchased our own water & coffee. Surprised at how unfriendly the staff was, nobody looked up and acknowledged us when we left in the morning or came home in the evening.
We chose this hotel because it appeared to be in a central location in the Cultural District near restaurants and theaters. We walked almost a mile to the Strip District, Heinz History Museum & Andy Warhol Museum.

Good Morning Andrea, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. We have shared your feedback with the leadership staff at the Courtyard Pittsburgh Downtown to ensure your concerns are addressed. We hope you will consider trying the hotel again in the future. We recommend one of our upgrade room types that includes a city view. The hotel does have complimentary coffee service between the hours of 6-7am before our restaurant opens at The Standard Market where breakfast and coffee are available for purchase. And there is always an unlimited supply of in room coffee pods that we are happy to provide upon request. We are happy to deliver those items to your room at any time, as well as new towels or linens if needed. Typically, our staff service and location are usually of our highest graded categories in our customer reviews. We are sorry it seems like those things missed the mark your stay. We are all working diligently to provide a safe and satisfactory experience for all of our guests and will take your feedback back to our team. While we are centrally located in the heart of the Cultural District, and just two blocks from the start of the Strip District, the Strip does span a 2 mile distance, so it can be a far walk if you're looking to hit up specific parts of the district that aren't on the closest end to our hotel. The Andy Warhol Museum is definitely a must see attraction in Pittsburgh, and is actually located on the North Shore 1/2 mile from our hotel, but the opposite direction of the Strip District. Feel free to contact the hotel team directly if you'd like to review your concerns in further detail. We hope for the opportunity to have you back and earn a five star review from you next time.

We stayed two nights for a baseball game. Prices for all hotels downtown were through the roof for this weekend due to the Phillies being in town, so this ended up being one of the more affordable options. Front desk did their job at check in but was not very friendly. Room was nice and spacious with high ceiling. However, the floor is very noisy under the carpet both in the room and hallways which was very odd and distracting. The bathroom was clean but I found the previous occupant's coffee pod in the machine when I went to make coffee. We did not get housekeeping so not sure if we had to request it or they missed our room. We had breakfast both days at the Standard next door which was good but added $30 each day. When we got home, we discovered we were charged for parking even though we self-parked in the nearby garage. The charge is apparently going to be removed but just annoying to have to make the phone call. Overall decent hotel in a convenient location but not up to the Marriott standard of service and amenities.

Very poor experience staying here. The first room we were assigned wasn’t even cleaned properly. They switched us to a different room after we said something. The second room was better, but not by much. Entire hotel is rundown and old looking. We tried the breakfast which was awful. A breakfast burrito, a store bought toasted bagel with watery, lukewarm cream cheese, and two drinks cost over $40. To top things off there was a youth hockey tournament in town. Kids running through the halls talking at the top of their lungs, pounding on doors well into the night (it’s almost midnight as I write this and they’re still at it). Called down to the front desk to tell them and nothing was done even though they said they would say something.

Dear Valued Guest, I recognize your time is valuable and appreciate the feedback you have taken the time to provide. Maintaining a clean atmosphere within our guest rooms and common areas is important and I apologize that we did not fulfill that expectation during your visit. Details from your stay have been shared with our housekeeping leaders to ensure this is an isolated incident. With regard to the noise issues that you experienced during your stay, please be advised that your call to the front desk was received and acted upon with a sense of urgency. Whenever a noise complaint is logged with the front desk, our team members are immediately dispatched to determine the source and resolve the issue. When the source has been discovered, generally those individuals had been unaware that they had been causing noise complaints and immediately comply with our requests. In situations where the source has been determined to be coming from groups of 6 - 8 year old athletes, we seek assistance from tournament organizers, parents and coaches to assist with resolving the noise issues. In most instances, the group leaders (adults) are effective in resolving the issue. My hope is the next time you are in the area, you will give us another chance to provide the guest experience we strive to deliver.

I had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this location.
Check in was an absolute breeze the folks at the front desk were and total dream to deal with. I can't remember names, but everyone I spoke to went well above and beyond. Even remembering and using our names. Even the valet staff were attentive and great to deal with.
The hotel is in a great location, we were in town to watch the Toronto Blue Jays play and the walk over to PNC park was about 10-15 minutes. We valeted our car, which was a very cheap cost per day. They even went got our car for us, then re-parked it after we had grabbed some things out of it and put it back. Absolutely amazing.
The rooms are great, we had a room that faced the courtyard, which yeah doesn't have the best view. But get a life if you're going to complain about it. How much time do you plan to spend in the room? The room was perfect for us, high ceilings, great AC, good size TV and bathroom.
I'd be back at this place in a heartbeat and I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
Big thanks to Lisa as well, she gave me a ton of great recommendations and REALLY went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great!!

First off, overpriced by about a 100. Second; the "alternate" cheaper parking option was closed and the charter school a few buildings down was letting out upon our arrival. Kids were running around everywhere and the handful of valet parking spots were being taken by very rude, ignorant folks picking up kids. The hotel, and the valets didn't seem to care that paying customers were left out having to drive around the block 5-6 times waiting for the insanity to end. The parents parking in the valet spots were feral and not to be messed with. All that for a $38 valet spot finally. Even tough they seemed to not care the spots were being taken by non-paying hotel customers, they were pleasant and easy to deal with once we got a spot. One out of three hotel employees we encountered were professional and seemed to appreciate their job. The rooms were ok, a little outdated. The shower was in bad shape. Sadly we were too afraid to use the shower because of the stained tub and large amount of mold and mildew. Aside from being close to many areas of interest, this hotel isnt a good choice - never again for us anyway. Zoom in on the pics.

First experience is always the front desk. This guy tonight definitely didn’t like his job. He was smarmy and rude to the guy in front of me who asked about the road closure, then to me when I asked about local restaurants. Me: “Any good mid-price restaurants close by?” Him: “How would I know, I’m poor. Mid price to me is a couple bucks.” No further comment. Ok. I empathize with the workload of these staffers, and the stress, but jeez, no need to be rude to everyone. Maybe just a bad night? As for the room, there are no convenient outlets near the work desk in the room, the floors are weirdly squeaky in the halls and room above me, so I could hear the guests walking around until late at night. I am a Marriott Platinum member, but won’t likely stay here again.
