Detailed Reviews
To level set you, this was a $120 room with $20 parking so $150 per night.
The hotel is very clean, and new. The location on the south side is fantastic.
But, don’t expect your room to be cleaned each day, the front desk staff, basically decides to lie, and give excuse after excuse, all of which were down right lies as to why the room did not get cleaned, If they just maned up and told the truth one could understand. Again its $150 a night so no big deal on missing the room cleaning, just be honest with people.
The free breakfast is interesting, they have a automatic pancake making machine, and the pancakes are actually eatable, the cold portion has lots of selections. The other hot portions are not really with even trying to eat. Again it;s. $150 per night with breakfast.
If you want a 5 star experience go some place that is actually a 5 star. If your money is important to you, staying here is well worth it, have staked at lots of 300-400 per night places not as nice.

I was pretty scared by a lot of these reviews stating the property was in disrepair and the rooms were falling apart. After my recent stay I can say the hotel is currently in mid-renovation and I experienced some pros and cons, but hopefully the cons are getting upgraded.
Pros: The public areas of the hotel were very clean, updated from the website's photos, and pleasant. The employees I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The hotel does offer a free breakfast which was pretty good. It included cold items like cinnamon rolls, bagels, and bread, cereal, and yogurt. They also had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and a neat machine that made decent, but not amazing pancakes for you. To drink there was milk, waler, juices, coffee, and tea. Regarding the rooms, the beds were very comfortable and seemed newer. A firm and soft pillow were provided and were very nice. The room size was fairly standard for a hotel and the ac was very quiet.
Cons: It was definitely obvious that the hotel was going through updates. Parts of the room had clearly been upgraded, but the carpet felt old and just seemed kind of permanently dirty. The tv was small and was not a smart tv like a lot of hotels now. The bathroom was clean, but needed a lot of help, having peeling paper around the mirror and cracks in the shower tile and generally looking out of date. Out in-room Keurig was also broken. For whatever reason, the room was incredibly humid although the ac was working fine. This made everything kind of moist and gross.
A note on location: The location itself is pretty convenient, but the area is busy day and night. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, tattoo parlors, and entertainment around the area. We did hear a lot of car noise and hallway noise overnight and I would not plan on strolling about by yourself after dark depending on who you are. That being said, the area didn't cause a problem and I wasn't concerned about it.

We stayed here for a few days due to the location. Overall a good stay the title says it all. It is aging and needs a reno and the hotel was quiet. The front desk was helpful, housekeeping skipped our room even though we were out of the room early. The indoor pool was extremely cold for being a heated indoor style. We would stay again since it is a good deal and the location is great. Just remember parking not included.

This Holiday Inn Express is a dump, every other Holiday Inn Express has been great except this one and apparently management oversight doesn't care as this is another very similar review from others that did not care much for this hotel.
Filthy, had to change rooms due to the mold and mildew in the bathroom shower and the sewer odor on the floor. New room on a different floor was slightly cleaner until you see all the hair on the bathroom floor and no fan, after a 1 hot shower, the ceiling is dripping with water. Bought clorex wipes to clean the area. Found a dirty shirt from a previous guest on the floor underneath an ottoman.
$22/night for parking is a ripoff and the gate to get into the lot is broke. The entry door in the back near the parking lot, that is supposed to open with your room card, is propped open night and day, must be broke and can be a security issue. Stairwell had trash in it. Couldn't wait to be out of the room.

I booked two rooms and usually don’t write reviews but I think it is important to let people know what to expect.
The room was smelly dirty , floors sticky and sofa all stained (Sofa and carpet picture with stains).
The heating system was broken (HVAC control missing knobs) blown out bulbs.
When went to the front desk, their response was “all rooms have the same stained sofas and cant we do anything about it”. If you want, just transfer to another hotel but this was midnight. It seems that the staff is so used to complaints that they didn’t even bother apologizing and basically said “it is what it is”
Another thing I didn’t take reviews seriously before I booked but noticed at midnight in the front entrance, elevators and room corridors we came across inappropriately dressed single females. Not a place for families.

Hi asc7799, Thank you for looping us into your experience about the room smell and cleanliness, carpet, floor, sofa, HVAC control knob, staff service, the front entrance, elevators, and room corridor. What you described certainly is not the kind of experience we want any of our guests to have. We strive to offer the type of hospitality our guests value most where the essentials are done exceptionally well, but that did not happen on your visit. I am sorry to miss out on this area. I've communicated your sentiments with our management team for review and I've also sent you a private message to discuss this further. I hope to get another chance to host your next visit as we promise to make the value of your experience worth it for all the right reasons. Yours in hospitality, Jeraldine R. Case Manager IHG Service

I stayed at the hotel 5 night from 19-23 Sept. I had to change my room three time during the stay due to various deficiencies in the each room: the window shutter falling down, the air condition not working, etc. The worst however was that there was no hot water for 3 days of my stay so I had to shower with cold water. I was however not informed of this when I checked in and when I informed the front desk I received a response that made me assume that this was a recurring problem norm. The carpet in my room was filthy and I had to specifically ask for it to be vacuumed cleaned. My room was never cleaned even when I specifically asked for it. The breakfast was very basic and not worth the money paid for it. When I tried to speak to the manager to discuss the challenges I had I was informed she would only be available 2 days after I left.

Stayed here on Sunday night (8/14/22) after the Metallica concert at PNC Park. After fighting with the exterior keyed entry, then it taking multiple more attempts to get the lock on the door to the room to work, to the point I was about to give up and go back to the desk, I came in to find the ceiling covered in mold. Everything in the room felt damp. My socks got damp walking on the carpet. Not cool. Add in the limited parking, sketchy neighborhood, 5 minute waits for an elevator, empty soap dispensers in shower, etc. Then to top it off, someone trying to gain access to the room Monday morning after lightly tapping on the door then slamming it multiple times against the bar slide lock which I had fortunately put in place after returning from the mediocre breakfast with hateful employees. There was no “do not disturb” sign in the room for me to use. I looked everywhere. Was it housekeeping? No idea, they didn’t announce themselves if it was, but someone had a key that opened the door better than mine. No one was there when I looked. I’d find someplace else to stay if I were you…

We booked 8 rooms with Jesse for our family trip to a Pirates game. He told us we could have free parking and we could take their shuttle to the game, only to find out they haven't had the shuttle since covid and we all have to pay $22 a day for parking. I'm not sure how someone can just lie to you just to make a sale....and to get all these benefits, we had to agree to a no cancellation agreement. Will NOT be staying here again!

Currently staying at this hotel. The hotel seems OK with an exception to hotel security. This exterior door that requires key access to enter the hotel is missing part of the door. Seems like any person off the street can walk in. When asked about another room on a different floor, all they could tell me is that all the rooms are booked.

Just want everybody to look at the photos I attached. This room was never ever cleaned. Bathtub is full with long dark hair (no one in our family has one), toilet is peed all over it. We had to use toilet paper and cover it to try to use it. Mirror in the bathroom, carpet in the room, walls, dirty towels. And this was going on during the COVID times.
