Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I would have given a 5 but the breakfast was not great.
Hotel was quiet, staff nice, room was HUGE, large vanity, microwave, mini refrigerator, couch, chair, desk, chest, plenty of parking, and nice shower. Bed was comfy and clean.
Hot breakfast was waffles and they were watery. I asked the staff and told to just stir the batter.
Cold breakfast options were 1 type cereal, white bread without a toaster, 1 danish, 1 mini blueberry muffin, boiled eggs, cold hot water for tea, plenty of apples, and lots of brown bananas.

Many thanks to Sylvia the manager, she was a legend and very overworked doing several jobs at once. She was helpful and friendly. We had no towels in our room but she appologised and said they were very understaffed. One person at desk, cleaning lobby and doing laundry is unacceptable, poor woman needs a pay rise. If you stay here atm there's no breakfast as it is a buffet, but there is a microwave and you can bring food in no problem.
Room clean and their beds are huge and so comfy. Air con works well too. Overall a great stay.

Stopped by for the night and had a great nights sleep. Good hotel. Clean room. Friendly and great staff checking us in. There is a lot of road construction and you may need to take a longer rout to get across the bride.

Zero rating. Arrived around 5:30 pm. Sketchy looking area and exterior (did not get a safe vibe walking in). We entered and the desk clerk was spraying a can of air freshener over the furniture and flooring, so much so that it triggered a migraine. The front desk area looked worn, dirty and unkempt. The desk clerk completely ignored us waiting at the desk and went into his office. No way were we staying there with our granddaughter. We walked out and immediately called the main office. Apparently our cancellation period had expired and after talking to three people at customer service: they refused to refund or give us a credit. I guess we will eat our loss this time....but we will not be using their hotel chain in the future.

After checking in, we went to our room - which was very clean and a perfect place to stay for the weekend. We were lucky to be given a room with a jacuzzi, which unfortunately we didn’t have time to use. The breakfast in the morning was great! Waffles, yogurt, boiled eggs, prepackaged croissant/English muffin sandwiches, juice and tea and coffee. It was excellent. The only downside was how small the eating area was, but it really wasn’t too bad. The woman who checked us in was very nice and the man (who I believe is the manager) was also very nice and helpful when we had questions. Only about a 15 minute drive to downtown Pittsburgh. Would certainly stay here again!

I booked a rm with Gosplitty on July 31 they had the reservation for Aug. 28 The Gm spoke to Gosplitty to confirm cancelation and refund. Gosplitty said the Gm refused to cancel on their end I payed for two reservations due to me believing I was dealing with a honesty person. I spend 10 yr in Hospitality, and very disappointed in my stay. I was charged 40 dollars for a upgrade. When dealing with 3rd party if we had the rm available we would accommodate the guest. I needed a double since I had my 16 yr old son with mr. Which I stated to the Gm. This is unacceptable I don't care who I have to contact to get this problem resolved. If you're in need of money that bad you need to start over with management to get your number up. Don't try to cheat a single mother of two.

Well, I was expected a much nicer place from the positive reviews and the pictures. This place is pretty much a dive hotel that you stay in for a night after a long drive. We checked in for a two-night stay. I immediately did not like the place. It was old and run down -- nothing like the pictures. Checking in in front of use were five guys who were clearly coming from a work site, each holding a six pack while drinking a beer, and the two women behind us reeked of weed. This was not a good first impression.

We checked into the room and were immediately overwhelmed by odors. First, someone was clearly smoking in the room. And if that wasn't bad enough, they tried to cover up the cigarette smell with a ton of air freshener. We weren't happy but sat on the bed to try to make the best of it for a night. Then the air conditioning unit started rattling to the point where there was no way I was staying.

I approached the guy at the front desk and asked for a refund. He clearly wasn't happy about it but agreed to refund or money. I then asked for a receipt. He said he could not give a receipt. I thought that was nonsense but figured when I did not get my refund, I would dispute the charge.

Although this hotel deserves only one star, we did get a full refund. The second star is for the they guy's honesty.

My fiance and I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Pittsburgh December 25-28, 2003. It is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in! Upon arrival I verified our reservation for a King non-smoking. The person at the front desk said that they were all out of those, so he would give us a suite. What a suite! It had two full size beds, so we couldn't even sleep together. Neither the safe or the alarm clock worked, it smelled like cigarette smoke, and the outlet for the television didn't work (we were able to stretch to a different outlet). We also took our two miniature pinchers with us. When I made the reservation, the person on the phone bragged about how pet friendly they were, so obviously we were excited. When I asked the location of the designated pet area outside so that I could take my dogs there, I found that it was a 5'x5' section of mulch. Not only that, but there were broken beer bottles everywhere! I immediately notified the person at the front desk, and he said that he would have it cleaned up right away. Every single piece of the mess was still there when we left. The fire alarms went off several times during our stay due to a "malfunction," and every single person that worked at the hotel was rude to us. You could not pay me enough money to stay there one more night! Had it not been for visiting family, we would have left there and taken the time to find another place to stay.

I actually tried to stay at another Comfort Inn closer to Pittsburgh, this place was horrid. I had them call Comfort Inn at Steubenville and switch my arrangements. The Comfort Inn at Steubenville was great! They fully accomodated all of my needs and got me a great room. The town was really booked that weekend and they still got me in. I got a large suite that was newly furnished, well cleaned, and a great price. I am actually booking another stay there soon. I would recommend this place to anyone that is going to stay for a couple days. Great place...

Review would have been better but the front desk staff when I arrived (01/03/06) seemed to be interested in watching Judge Joe and text messaging on cell phone.

Hotel room was very small and I requested two double beds but received single bed room. Since it was for one night I didn't feel like fixing this problem.

The workout room had a treadmill, step machine, bicycle and television in the workout room. I used the treadmill one night.

Morning breakfast was decent - had the essentials.

No meeting rooms so the training I conducted was done in the lobby area.

Rate seemed a bit high for the facilities $84.83.
