This hotel is so gorgeous! Attention to detail is shown everywhere from the lobby to the restaurant/bar to the rooms. The gorgeous marble was kept throughout and I loved the little details like the mail chute spanning at 18 floors. Our room was cozy and had every feature you'd expect. The design was stunning and the materials used added such an industrial look and feel to the historic charm. Breakfast was delicious in the Rebel Room and so were late night drinks and the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had.

The Setting, This hotel is set in a historical building in downtown Pittsburgh. My wife and I live in the suburbs about 20 miles outside of town. We were in The city for a nice dinner then an evening away from our normal hustle and bustle.
The Good, as I stated before this Hotel is set in a beautiful historical building in downtown. We were pleased to be able to pull up the front of the building and take advantage of valet parking. After checking in and arranging our valet parking they also called for a bell man to take our bags up to our room. This Hotel is beautiful in it’s turn of the 20th century styling, including the original all marble foyer and staircase. Our room was spacious and themed around the bygone steel industry ear of Pittsburgh. We each had a pre dinner drink in the hotel bar before heading out. The building and rooms were very clean, and every member of the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The Bad, I may be nitpicking here but our room was very noisy. The heater kicked on about ever 20-30 minutes and sounded like an airplane was flying through our room. And there was a lot more street noise than I thought there would be on the 9th floor. Somebody on the street at 3:00am sounded like a drill instructor giving cadences. So if you are looking for a good nights sleep this may not be your best option. The shades on the windows are electric and controlled by a switch on the wall, they functioned well but we’re out of sync so it was impossible to close all three all the way. Also our shower although clean a stylish was a European style with no set basin or tub. The water just went all over the bathroom floor even with the curtain closed, quaint but not practical.
The Last Word, overall we enjoyed our stay and can’t say enough about the friendliness of the staff which unfortunately is a rare thing anymore. But the noise volume and lack of a good nights sleep would probably keep us from going back.

We so enjoyed our four night stay at the Industrialist Hotel in July. The Industrialist opened only a few months ago and it is a perfect addition to the Marriott Collection. As a Lifetime Titanium Member, we received two $10 vouchers for breakfast (this amount covered most of the cost) and we were upgraded to a larger room on the 12th floor (there are 18 floors) that overlooked the river. The Room was had a fabulous bathroom that took up about 1/3 the size of the room. There was ample closet space too. The lobby was on the second floor and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the lobby bar was not open. Instead we spent out drinking/eating time at the first floor restaurant/bar named Rebel. The service and atmosphere there was great. A special thank you to Justin and Sophia for there excellent service and conversation. Overall, the hotel is the perfect place to stay when exploring downtown. If you’re looking for a hip, new, and boutique hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, look no further. ❤️

Beautiful hotel, very moody and on theme with dark walls, and industrial lights with dimmers. The bathroom is really nice and the pillows are perfect, obviously not the cheap flat pillows many hotels have, the thermostat works quick and the room came with any streaming service you can think of at no charge. The room service was delicious and fast! Also, Jordan at the front desk was super nice to my husband and I, he also made check in very smooth. Overall, a great clean hotel with lovely staff and amenities.

Gorgeous hotel conveniently located downtown. We were there for my husbands graduation from point park university and it was right next to campus. The staff was attentive, the rooms are tastefully designed, and well stocked with bottles of water and keurig. My only two complaints are there’s noise level and Rebel Room restaurant/bar. There is no barrier to city noise so despite being on one of the top floors we heard the roads all night. This was solved with ear plugs. The on-site restaurant and bar is good but they need more staff as every time we were there the bartenders doubled as servers and service suffered. Overall, a lovely stay and a great contemporary hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh.

Had the pleasure (and it was truly a pleasurable experience) to stay the newest hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, The Industrialist. The hotel is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection so you not only have the opportunity to gain or redeem Bonvoy points but stay at a unique and historic hotel. The transformation is spectacular and is evident in every part of the hotel. The hotel has many unique guest room types and might recommend buying up to one of the studio or one or two bedroom suites. However, even the "standard" King or Double Queen rooms are not standard by any means. All rooms are furnished with very contemporary furnishings, high end bath and toiletries and plush bedding. The gym is quite large and well equipped. The hotel restaurant, The Rebel Room, offers all 3 meals and the food offerings and unique and delicious. The team members are extremely friendly and accommodating and if you need to hold a meeting the hotel even has a couple of great rooms (boardroom and larger meeting room). The hotel is centrally located in downtown Pittsburgh and short walking distance to major corporations and tourist attractions. Knowing the other hotels in the area, none come even close to this new gem and would only consider staying at this hotels when travels bring me to Pittsburgh. A must visit.

The Industrialist Hotel in Pittsburgh is centrally located in Downtown Pittsburgh. It is close to many great restaurants and venues, and being a historic building makes it even more enticing. We had the chance to stay here in September for a Steelers game, and there are advantages and disadvantages.
Regarding room requests, the front desk staff considered our requests and got rooms on the highest floor possible, even during a busy weekend. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are a bit small, but overall, the room, provides a certain level of comfort. As part of our stay, we had a guest celebrating his birthday. Unfortunately, no special touch or attention to detail was given to the guest, but customer service by the front desk made up for it.
One turn-off for me was the situation about the elite status and breakfast options provided to guests. With other Marriott Bonvoy hotels, such as Platinum or above, you get complimentary breakfast included for two guests. I got a percentage off or possibly a continental breakfast during this stay. Still, one of the waitresses in the bar denied having continental breakfast available for one morning. Also, there was a disconnect between the front desk and restaurant employees on what benefits Marriott Bonvoy elite members get. It would be great if this situation could be solved.
Finally, I would recommend self-parking in the garage next door, where the price per day is half what you pay in the hotel. It is safe and worth the price in the long run. It is not a bad hotel, but a few things can be improved to assist guests properly, especially loyal members of the brand.

This hotel is only 5 months old, built in a renovated old office building from the early 1900’s. The physical plant of the building is gorgeous, especially the first floor entryway. Our room was a bit tight, but I liked the way the bathroom was tucked around the corner. The fixtures were modern. The decor was very interesting: bold without being over bearing.
Check in was a bit tedious, but the gentleman at the desk got us in to our room early (1 PM) and got us a river view. You could clearly see Station Square and the Monongahela Incline from our room.
Disappointments were a lot of little things, but I believe they could easily be rectified. Our room had no soap and our tissue box was empty after pulling one tissue out. They did bring us more after calling, but this kind of thing just shouldn’t happen in an upscale hotel.
The “Rebel Room” restaurant on the 1st floor was a bit of disappointment. We ate lunch and a breakfast here. Both times the place was quite busy, but only one server was really working the tables. Service was slow and the food was pretty average and a bit pricey. Again, with adequate staffing I believe this could be a much better experience.
We will definitely return as we love the location. My guess is that Marriott is struggling with competent manpower the way almost everyone else is at this point.

Dear DJohn12402, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. It is through guest feedback that we are able to improve upon the dining experience provided to our guests. You brought to my attention that during your recent stay, we fell short of meeting your expectations while dining in The rebel Room. Your feedback of an unsatisfied experience has been shared with the Restaurant Manager who joins me in offering not only our sincere apologies for the team’s shortcomings, but our commitment to resolving these issues in order to improve the dining experience in the future. Although we fell short of meeting your expectations during your stay, I hope you will consider our hotel on your next visit to the area so that we can deliver on the guest experience you deserve.

I really wanted to like this hotel. The location was good if you want to stay in downtown Pittsburgh, the remodel and design was really nice. The room was small, but had everything we were looking for and the bed was comfortable.
The problem we experienced was that our HVAC fan was extremely loud and problematic. It would turn off and on constantly, but it would sound like a jet engine revving up once it turned off. It just kept going and going, until finally the air would turn on, which at that point, it would return to a low droning sound (which was annoying in it's own rights). At 2 am I finally called the front desk and the guy was able to get us a new room in about 15 minutes time.
When we went down to get our new keys, he admitted that room had an issue and he knew exactly what we were talking about. So I don't understand why they would put us in a room with a known issue. He only apologized and gave us a new room. We were finally able to get to sleep after 3 am and upon checkout the next morning, we reiterated the problem that we experienced. Unfortunately, there was no offer to give a discount or credit and there was only an apology issued.
It's unfortunate since is was a nice hotel, but due to this poor customer service I couldn't recommend this hotel.

To start - this is a beautiful new hotel. The entryway, lobby, rooms are fantastic. In a lovely old building that couldn’t have a better location in downtown Pittsburgh. One block to a lot of attractions and almost everything you’d want to see is walkable. With some service improvements, this hotel would be an easy five stars and my favorite for returns to Pittsburgh.
Check in process was the first hint at lackluster service. The person checking me in did not recognize my platinum status, did not offer the free breakfast (or points option), no welcome arrival gift (or points) and no mention of a possible upgrade. They did make sure to mention that there is no housekeeping unless you come down in the morning and request it.
The day of check out, they could not honor my GUARANTEED 4pm late check out because they had guests coming (fail to see how that’s my problem when I have a guaranteed late check out).
For those reasons, I cannot recommend this hotel for Marriott members. With service improvements, I would return, but until then - staying elsewhere.
