Mr. Carter was pleasant, professional, and accommodating from the onset of our interaction, through booking a room, and to the completion of my stay. It was late, I was very tired and not in a pleasant mood but his positive attitude rubbed off on me and really helped me put a positive outlook on a very stressful day. He was very informative about the room, food and snack options, hotel amenities, and what to expect at breakfast. I rested very well and Mr. Carter was a major influence to the enjoyment of my stay at the Cambria Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh.
Thank you so much !!

We were pleased with the hotel, its location, the staff and its amenities. The BIG downfall was the cost to park. $32USD per night is steep. We inquired about parking at the PPG parking lot directly across the street and we were advised that overnight parking there is not permitted and the front desk alluded to it being an unsafe place to park. We paid for one night of parking at the hotel and then did some research and found that the PPG lot is absolutely fine and a fraction of the cost. There were several very nice cars parked there along with ours and the cars were fine. No issues at all. $10USD for 24 hours, you book through ParkWhiz and it took less than a minute. We wish the front desk had been more open about street parking being optional.

The shuttle driver John went above and beyond to make sure we knew how to get where we needed to go. Nice little trip with him on our way to the T and lots of laughs along the way.
The hotel was definitely understaffed (who isn't), but the check-in process was extremely delayed (it should be 4:00, my room wasn't available until 5:30pm, but I was hearing for some rooms it wouldn't be until after 7pm).
I was in a queen suite (2 queen beds and a pullout couch). The rooms are definitely dated, but clean and functional (minus carpet stains, but I hear sometimes the parties get rowdy depending on what events are going on nearby). Need to bring charger blocks for charging devices as the furniture/outlets are not USB plug adaptable.
Definitely a great location for anything happening at PPG. Parking fee per night was $20, plus additional $5.45 of parking taxes.

The room was large for my husband, teenage daughter, and I. We travel to Pittsburgh at least 3 times a year for our daughter. We were in town for 3 nights to move our daughter into her apt for her 2nd year at PITT. After a 6 1/2 hour drive our first hotel was crappy so we found this hotel last minute with one room left. It was double the cost of our stay but since it was closer to her apt and offered better amenities (such as a fridge in room and microwave, along with an indoor pool and whirlpool) we thought it was worth it. Nonetheless, in small print there was a $32 per night cost for parking...we had two cars:( We ended up working with our daughter and on campus staff to park our cars overnight on campus to avoid the fees. Our TV didn't work the entire stay, we called maintenance several times and they couldn't fix it. Each time they showed up with an attitude, replaced the remotes, tighten the wires, and then said something was wrong with the connection. Hotel wifi was in and out. There was an onsite restaurant that didn't offer room service and changed its hours frequently. We had to call for replacement of soap which was brought up 1 day later! When I called for towels housekeeping brought up only one set at a time for a room with 3 persons. We asked for a late check out of one hour and we were not granted such. We needed to book an additional day and I asked to extend our stay and I was offered to do so at the rate of $200 without consideration to all of the inconveniences caused. It appeared the staff was more concerned with money than our experience. I declined and decided to drive home early. Breakfast was not included in our stay, which most hotels we have stayed at in the past have included. For a cost of over $650 in Pittsburgh this stay was not worth it. We have stayed at other hotels for way less and have had a much more enjoyable experience. I will not stay here again or recommend to others. We are planning to come back in Nov for family weekend and we were hoping to stay here, but now we will look for another hotel.

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. It’s disheartening to hear that your stay did not meet expectations, especially after a long drive and during such an important time for your family. We apologize that the value of your stay fell short, particularly given the cost. Your experience is not reflective of the standards we strive to maintain, and your feedback will be shared with our Management Team to address these concerns. We understand your decision to look elsewhere for future visits, but we do hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future. Safe travels, and best wishes to your daughter in her second year at PITT.

On Friday July 28th, my wife and I traveled from Rochester New York to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania for a weekend getaway. We stayed at the Cambria Hotel Pittsburgh for two nights. Upon check in, we walked into our room which was room 204, and were immediately disgusted by the room. The carpets had stains all over the place. My wife goes to plug in her phone beside the bed and finds what appeared to be throw up on the walls. There were stains on the curtains, bed sheets. The room was so gross that my wife and I would not walk without shoes in the room. My wife received a text asking about how our room was and she complained stating the above complaints. They asked if we would like housekeeping to come up and she said yes that we would and that we also would like more towels. They responded that they would send housekeeping up, they did they bring the towels up, but did not clean the room. Saturday night we went to out and got back to the hotel at 1130 at night to be welcomed backed by one of the worst customer service employees ever Kevin. The door was locked for security reasons, so he was pointing at something through the glass and finally opened the door for us. He response was, “Can I help you? And I go “I am walking into the hotel that I am staying at.” He goes “Well I pointed to the sign, that's why the sign is there.” With attitude along with other statements. Other guests were sitting in the lobby and voiced their concerns about how rude this gentleman was. When you stay at a hotel and spend hundreds of dollars, you expect to feel welcomed at the hotel EVERY time you walk in and Kevin, did not at all to any of the guest. We voiced our concerns again to the hotel, and they said we should have asked for housekeeping to come up, which we did. They also told us that they only clean the rooms every three days which is completing disgusting, and they should be cleaned every time a new guest arrives, which are room was clearly not.

We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you dealt with and will be speaking further with our team to ensure our guest rooms are thoroughly attended to by housekeeping and to reinforce the warmth and respect that should be shown to each of our valued guests. The room was and felt very dirty. There were stains everywhere. The carpet, the ironing board, the curtains, the couch and there were food crumbs (m&ms & cereal) at the end of the couch on the floor. We were told that they were working on getting the carpet replaced but the curtains, couch, broken refrigerator, ironing board cover and cleaning could’ve all been fixed. The location and onsite parking is why we picked this hotel but the overall cleanliness of the room will lead us to look for a different hotel in the future.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Carrie. It's deeply concerning to hear about the cleanliness issues you encountered during your stay. The areas you highlighted are far from the standard we aim to provide. While it's good to know that carpet replacement is in progress, it's clear that immediate improvements are needed in other areas. We appreciate your feedback, as it points out the urgent need for better upkeep and attention to detail. Your comments will be addressed with our team to ensure a much-improved experience for future guests. We regret that we fell short this time and hope to have the opportunity to provide a cleaner, more comfortable stay in the future.

The hotel is at great location, great rooms with a great view right next to the PPG Paints Arena, but for this price we expect the rooms to be made every day.
No room service doesn't fit compared to less expensive hotels where this is always done without a question!
Due to this we cannot recommend this hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is its convenient location next to PPG Paints Arena. The arena is literally spitting distance from the hotel.
That being said, I’m not sure I would bother staying here again unless I’m going to an event at the arena.
We first arrived around 4:30pm to check in and were informed that our room wasn’t ready. They had 4 members of the housekeeping staff out sick and so room cleaning was behind schedule.
I don’t know if those 4 people were out sick with Covid, but it was a thought that immediately called into question the cleanliness of the place.
Anyway, we were told the room would be ready in 45 mins. We came back at 6pm (so 45 min x 2) and were informed the room STILL wasn’t ready. We witnessed plenty of other guests aggravated by the same news.
So we lugged our bags back to the car again and went out to dinner. Came back at 8pm and were finally able to check in! Yay!
When we got to our room, it seemed as if the housekeeping was rushed, likely due to the staffing issues. There were handprints all over the window. There was a clump of hair matted into the carpet. A few basic amenities were missing (like cups and restaurant/bar information that you get at even the cheapest hotels).
But the bed was made (hopefully with clean sheets) and there was no trash in the room, so there’s at least that! Still concerned about the cleanliness of the place, as I mentioned before.
Then I noticed I got overcharged.
My reservation said my total price (tax included) was $254.80. I was charged $330.26.
I went down to the front desk to ask if there was a security deposit or something that would be refunded down to what my reservation said, provided I didn’t damage anything. A fairly normal practice, but I would have preferred to be informed up front.
The guy at the front desk said there was a $50 security deposit that would drop my charge down to $280.26.
Given that $280.26 doesn’t match what my reservation said, I think he was making it up on the spot and that I was getting ripped off.
They had the nerve to send me a “thank you” email that showed the original $254.80 price again, even though they charged me more than that.
My wife thought they should be giving people free drinks or discounting the rooms to make up for the inconvenience of having to wait so long to check in, but no, they overcharged us instead lol
To top it all off, the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything going on in the room next to us—ALL night—and they were NOT quiet.
One thing I will say though… Some of the other reviews say the drinks at the bar are overpriced. I actually don’t think that’s true. Maybe everyone else is ordering drinks different than what we did, but I found the prices to be in line with what we pay at most other bars. And the drinks were good!

My husband and I stayed here two years ago and enjoyed it. We saw it was on Hotwire as a hot deal for our 2 day trip to Pittsburgh so we booked it. The hotel itself definitely needs a refresh. The carpet and fixtures are shabby.
Our first room did not have a working deadbolt lock and we asked to get that taken care of. We were moved to another room a few hours after check in, and they told us they would refund our parking for the inconvenience. The rest of the stay was uneventful—the second room was functional and seemed clean. The bed was very hard and the a/c made annoying noises all night.
There is apparently no restaurant here any more, just the bar, and it is randomly open. When I inquired the bartender about food she handed me a menu for a pizza place down the street. However, I saw people eating breakfast at the tables the morning we checked out.. but they could have went and got the food from somewhere.
There are restaurants in the city but it is a long walk, especially in the rain. This hotel is convenient for events at PPG Arena, but if you are looking to do more in the city you’re going to have to drive and pay for more parking. They have a shuttle, but it says it didn’t run on Sundays and I can’t imagine they have enough employees working to operate it, being that we saw like one person working at a time anytime we came to the lobby. Sometimes just the bartender was there when the bar was randomly open.
They do not give you maid service, so you need to ask the front desk if you need extra towels, toilet paper, etc. All employees that we encountered were friendly and helpful.
The parking situation is really stupid and it is why I won’t stay here again. They charge you $20 a night plus a 6 dollar city tax to park in an unsecured lot. On our previously stay you needed your room key to get into the parking lot, but that system is broken and in disrepair so literally anyone could come park here or be In the lot, which means random people could come into the hotel as well. Didn’t like that at all. There’s no way they check the lot either, because they can’t have enough employees working to do that.
After being told we would get our parking refunded for our room issue, we were still charged for it upon checking our. My husband made a phone call to the front desk (after 3 attempts because no one would answer the phone) and they told us that they will process the refund and didn’t give us a hard time about it.
To sum it up, unless you are going to the PPG arena for an event, there are better places to try in Pittsburgh!

Hello- I stayed at the Cambria Pittsburgh downtown (Centre Ave) last night (April 9 2022). We arrived at 1pm and were happy that we got in room right away (we did not ask for this). We went to get lunch and then to the hockey game so we didn't look at our room closely until much later (after dinner). Dirty (I am attaching shower stall picture, we didn't want to use it), dusty, looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. No kleenex, no hair dryer, only 2 cups (next to the coffee machine), none in bathroom. Then in the morning I went downstairs to get coffee (was a little afraid of coffee machine in our room considering how dirty everything else was) and first pot I picked up was tea (unmarked), then I got coffee, looked for cream, only saw trash (at 8am). A bunch of employees were listening to the boss so I asked and cream was obtained. Then the boss asked if I was having breakfast, I said probably later (thinking it was complimentary like every other choice hotel I've stayed in. He said coffee was $3 unless I was planning to pay for breakfast. At this point I just put the coffee down and walked away, then he said I could have it. We of course went elsewhere for breakfast but did notice that when we went downstairs there were signs that breakfast was $18 (I did not notice these before). The only reason this hotel has a halfway decent rating is because of the location but rest of reviews kind of stink (wish I had noticed before). I thought you should know this, thank you very much (sent to choice customer complaints email, no reply)

the shuttle will take you close, a better option is the subway, which has a stop at heinz field and is free.
as long as the dvd player has an hdmi cord the tv can be connected.
The charge for parking is $20.00 plus tax.
