Here for March Madness at PPG arena. Easy access from freeway. There are bridges and traffic all around it, so subsequent noise. Parking on site for $27., a bit pricey, could be worse (LV resort fees).....Seemed safe, lighted, gated, pass required. Front desk staff? Rooms good size. Could be a bit cleaner in bathroom. The only real concern, comes with the water. Had to run long time to get warm, then changes hot to cold and back while showering! Extremely difficult to regulate. Breakfast area nice and good options. The staff member that was there, overseeing and assisting visitors...did great job! The location is great, for access to casino, restaraunts and free tram/subway that takes you to the arena. Stayed there for last tournament and will stay again!

This hotel was booked for a 3-night stay in Pittsburgh for the location to PNC park and access to other areas of Pittsburgh.
Upon arrival it was noted that parking is in an open lot, there wasn't really anything secure about it and able to access it off the street by foot.
The reception area was busy and always had people in the area for many reasons, the front desk was always pleasurable and helpful although at times overwhelmed.
The BEST part of the hotel room was the shower, probably the best shower of our 3 week vacation, fantastic pressure and heat.
Room was spacious and clean, comfortable room, great AC. Overall for a Studio King w/sofa, this was reasonably priced for what we needed. Would not hesitate to book again if in North End Pittsburgh.

Stayed at Residence Inn to attend a Steelers game.
ALL staff we encountered were professional and courteous . Annaleia at the front desk was friendly and courteous, and her attitude coveyed that we were valued as customers. She responded promptly to all of our requests. The same can be said for Margaret at the front desk who quickly resolved a minor parking issue. The breakfast staff also were polite and friendly. When told that the coffee urn needed refilling, they quickly responded. Likewise, housekeeping staff rsponded to our requests for additional towels promptly and in a friendly manner.
I will stay here again and recommend this hotel because of the quality of the staff employed there.

I was really hoping to send out a better review because in the past my experience with Marriott properties have been predominantly positive. What the hotel has going for it is location. PNC People’s Gate across the street and the T station steps from the building. When the Hop on/Hop off bus is operating, which it was not during my stay, there is a stop close by. I had a two-bedroom suite; the amount of space was very good. We had a view of PNC Park, the Allegheny, city skyline and Mount Washington. If you have a car there is a Giant Eagle a few blocks away to stock your fridge. Though surrounded by highways we did not find the sound a problem. Staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly. A problem with our safe promptly fixed as was the charge for parking after we no longer had the car on site. I have stayed in other Residence Inns. They were more comfortable than North Shore. The furniture here is worn. The rug is near the end of its useful life. The sofa uncomfortable and the cushions stained, the pillows misshapen. The bed ok. There were fingerprint smudges along the edges of the door. Taking a paper towel dampened with water removed most of the dirt on my bedroom door. Corners on the tile in the bathroom were dirty. The closet doors were off their tracks and I could not adjust them. The vents in the common area dusty as was the detailing on my bedroom and bathroom doors. The kitchen was clean when we checked in, as well as the bathroom surfaces – counter, sink, tub, toilet. A laundry was listed with amenities, however, the one machine supposedly available was broken. Given the number of families with children I saw during my stay, if a laundry is promoted, even one machine is inadequate. The breakfast offered was mediocre at best and inferior to other Residence Inn’s I have stayed at. The coffee was good, but other items limited and inferior. Cereal was only available on Sundays (I was there ten days). The hotel’s pantry of purchasable snacks was out of water for three days. Having a full kitchen was a real plus. Since we went to the baseball games the location could not have been more perfect. If attending games, I would stay here again.

The only positive things to say about this hotel are the location and size of the rooms. Everything else was extremely disappointing for the money that was spent. We brought my 9 and 13 year old nieces down for their first concert and liked that it was near the stadium for safety reasons and convenience. We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite which was just shy of $1500 for 2 nights. When we first got to our room, one of the kids found a pair of men's shorts on the bedroom floor. That was the first indicator that the cleaning was either rushed or not done at all. The shower curtain had mold on it and the shower itself drained very slowly. By the time you finished your shower, you were standing in 3 inches of water. One of the lights in the kitchen didn't work. Dishes and side of garbage can were disgustingly dirty. The paper towel holder was also broken. The fridge made a loud humming noise the entire stay and the ice maker was not working. This hotel doesn't have ice machines so we had to go back downstairs with the ice box from the freezer so that a staff person could put ice into it from the kitchen. The fitness center was closed our entire stay and the pool was very small and damaged. On our receipt at checkout, it shows that parking was included in our room rates but we were still charged $54 extra for the 2 days of parking. So, even though we liked being close to PNC Park, the filthy room was not worth the convenience. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you don't mind staying somewhere dirty.

We came in to town to watch the Phillies play the Pirates and the location cannot be beat.
Pros: Location, location, location to PNC park Free breakfast Pool and gym Easy Uber ride from airport Front desk staff were helpful Common areas are bright and cheerful
Cons: The hotel rooms are very worn. Our suite had crud on the faucets, worn away patching in the bathroom and caked on dirt in various corners. It wasn’t an issue with housekeeping. The room was surfaced clean but needed to be, at the very least, deep cleaned. The rooms could definitely benefit from a refurbishing. We had a view of PNC park from our room but it was clouded by the dirty windows.
It’s obvious that you pay for the location but was really disappointed in the condition of the rooms for a Marriott hotel.

I've stayed at many Residence Inns, and our experience here was not up to the brand standard. However, the location was extremely convenient and accessible. We were in town for a small event, just staying one night. This was really just a place to shower and sleep. The room was in a bit of disrepair. It didn't seem dated, but basic maintenance issues had not been addressed. Closet door was off its track and didn't want to go back on. Towel Hangers fell off the wall. Mattress on fold out couch was badly stained. Bedclothes for the fold out was missing a pillow case. Mattress on main bed had a strange crunch spot that could be felt through the sheets. Toilet seat was wobbly. TV Remote was non-responsive. The breakfast buffet had waffle irons, but no waffle batter in the dispensers. There was no milk for the cereal. Breakfast bar attendant was entirely focused on their phone to the exclusion of anything guests might ask. There had been a snowstorm this weekend, so the parking lot was messy, but even if things had been ideal, the lot was very small for the size of the hotel.

I've stayed for work several times.. Staff nice. Cleanliness and upkeep have declined significantly. Three requests needed to fix a leaking kitchen faucet shortly after arrival on my last stay that ruined food on the counter. Housekeeping miss your room frequently or don't complete it properly per policy. Debris unvacuumed in corridor 3 days from a broken ceiling tile. Fixtures, carpets, kitchen items somewhat worn but functional.

I have been a loyal Marriot customer for over 20 years but I am really rethinking this.
I needed to cancel my reservation due to a serious family emergency. The reservation rules were to cancel by 1159p two days prior. I called as soon as I found out I needed to cancel which was the next morning at 8am. I was told by the person answering that she would cancel my reservation with NO penalty or charges. She was very kind.
The hotel charged my credit card. I called the hotel and spoke with someone at the desk and she said she would ask the manager and see what they could do. A few days later the charge was still there. So I called the hotel and left a VM for the hotel manager and explained the situation and how I was told they would cancel me with no charges and never received a call back and the charge is still there.
I know that the hotel can choose NOT to charge my card and I understand this is a policy but the fact an employee gave a promise and didn't follow through is NOT ok with me.

This place is perfect, one would think, for a stay including a ball game as it is very convenient to PNC Park and Acrisure Stadium. Unfortunately the room we stayed in - an upgraded executive suite - had furnishings that were soiled and ripped. We didn’t want to sit on all that extra furniture. The staff was helpful although our room had no hair dryer and none could be located after a half hour search. Location is really all it has going for it.
