This was the first visit here. The check in and drop off situation is a bit strange since the check in is on the top floor and there is no real space to drop luggage and passengers off. We had friends staying nearby at another hotel and we ended up giving them our car to park there. The rooms are modern. I personally like individual shampoo and shower gels instead of dispensers. The dispenser is in the way in the shower. The room temp was the worst part of the stay. It was 76 when we arrived. We turned it down to 68 and it went up to 78. The control is basically there for your amusement. Otherwise it was clean, quiet and a nice stay. The only reason for a 4 was the climate control or should I call it climate “not in control.”

This was the first time for a visit to this hotel. It's a Marriott Brand. The rooms were very modern, which means kind of sparsely furnished. But they were clean, comfortable and quiet. Cleaning is only every other day, which seems to be the norm these days. They offer breakfast for $15, but it was just ok. We ate there the first day and then went to other places for the rest o the trip. The road signs say it's in the Strip District, but it's several blocks to the heart of it. Its short walk to Market Square, a subway stop, the Warhol Museum and other sights. I would stay there again. The only real problem is parking. There is a lot across the street, but it's for the convention center. Parking was $15 because there was an event at the Convention Center, but there was no in and out. We ended up parking around the corner in a garage which was $5 per day on the weekends, also with no in and out, but it was lot cheaper. Uber and Lyft rides were easy to get. Pittsburgh streets are narrow and hard to navigate if you're not a local. Using ride share is better way to get around.

Have always wanted to stay here and we booked it in august. We booked a Corner Room which gives you a lot more space. I feel the room was quite pricey, don't know how it compares to other hotels in the area but definitely expensive. I would still want to pay the extra I I believe so it's more spacious, my husband however would disagree on that. I wish we had the Riverview, we had view of the train tracks and the City. Not a bad view but definitely not beautiful like the water view. The Train sound did not bother us unlike the reviews I read. The bathroom was also spacious enough. LOVE the fact that the floors were wooden and not carpet! My favorite feature in the hotel room! Love the large windows from floor to ceiling. The hotel room was very clean, I felt very comfortable with the cleanliness until we reached into the refrigerator to get a glass out of it and it was full of lipstick all around it. It was absolutely gross to find that and unlike a Marriott! We are Marriott members and stay very frequently all around in Marriott's and we have never experienced that before. Which means no one went in the refrigerator to swap out for new glasses. The hotel lobby was not on the first floor, never stayed at a hotel like that. Very unique. Friendly girl at front desk who checked us in. There's a nice Lounge area with a bar which we did not use but if we were to stay here again I would like to sit and have a drink there. Would probably stay here again, just a bit hesitant questioning the cleaning staff with the glass issue. Like I said, the rest of the room seemed spotless, but I am glad we found the glass incident on the day we checked out because I wouldn't have been as comfortable staying there overnight knowing that maybe it wasn't as clean as It appeared. Location was perfect, right close by within walking distance to the strip, and the new amazing area on smallman street with lots of shopping and restaurants and fitness facilities.

First time in an AC hotel. My wife and I loved it. NO carpet anywhere/more hygienic as a result. Great bathroom with multiple showerheads and the shower stall is double size. The shower drain is invisible. The toilet is square. There is a fridge and 2 complimentary bottles of water and chilled glasses in it. The in-room coffee is imported from Italy. 65" LG TV with lots of station choices. The FREE Wi-Fi was in excess of 200 Mbps. That is seriously fast. There is local craft beer at the bar. The valet parking gets your vehicle into the locked and covered hotel garage. The standard, king room had a couch and ottoman, as well as a desk and chair. Have to use your room key on the elevator for the elevator to stop at your floor. Nice security feature in my view. This hotel is very close to Pittsburgh's Strip District...not striptease, but a food district and nightclub area. Restaurants and specialty, ethnic grocers are there. Very unusual place. Speaking of food, we opted for the breakfast package. It was a good deal. Besides regular brewed coffee, they would make you Nespresso lattes and expresso. I loved that. They brought me a wonderful, small omelet in a prosciutto cup. There was a small buffet with upscale meats, cheese, fruit, etc. Very classy.

I should have known there was a noise issue when I saw the white noise machine in the room. A for effort, but it did not compensate for the extremely loud downtown traffic or the squeal of the train that passed overhead nearby. That was a first for me....freight trains going thru a downtown area.
Even with the white noise machine going at full tilt and the tv on, I still kept getting woken up by street and trainnoise.
Valet parking was convenient. Shower has a hand held component. Overall, it had a few extra amenities but it Was reminiscent of Marriott’s Springhill Suites.

Dear LuceDuce, I’m sorry to hear that noise pollution kept you from having a restful night’s sleep; please forgive us. Your comfort is our highest priority and I regret that we left you less than completely satisfied. When our hotel was built a sound engineer was used to study the sound levels and review material to ensure we mitigate the sound as much as possible. While we used double insulated windows that exceeded the recommendation of the sound engineer some guests are more susceptible to the outdoor sound than others. Your feedback is welcomed as it allows us to monitor the guest experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your review. Sincerely, Alisa Faulk General Manager

This is a relatively new Marriott in downtown Pittsburgh. The location is great and the aesthetic is as to be expected for an AC. Convenient to most necessities by foot including coffee, dining, and various waterfront and general amenities. Parking is available across the street, however it was unclear at check in whether there was underground parking so that’s what I aimed for first. As such, there was a bit of a traffic jam at the hotel entrance and no staff there to manage it. Cars behind cars blocking in the cars that got there first. A reception for the hotel on the ground floor had a desk but no human. Took a trip to the lobby and waited untended for a good 15 minutes while one of the front desk staff was arranging furniture for what looked like a next day meeting (it was 9 pm). Despite repeatedly looking over while I waited, he actually didn’t come over until a fourth person got in line. He checked me in and let me know that parking was across the street. It was pretty dark and even with decent (not great) parking lot lighting - I will be honest - I was not comfortable alone. I got into the hotel and headed for my room. I always take a cursory look first. My first room was facing a brick building in an alley. There was a dirty rag of some sort on one nightstand table and spilled coffee on the other. I called to mention it and got a relatively curt response that if I wanted a new room I needed to come up. I was then waited on by a different desk attendant and she changed my room. My second room had a toilet that runs. I did get it to stop but it surprised me to be changing rooms due to hygiene and tinkering with toilets. I heard train noise at one point - but only once and it didn’t ultimately interfere with my sleep. Overall the rating is reflective of the experience as much as the environment. I expect quiet. I never expect hygiene issues. The hotel is generally very nice. They appeared to be skeleton crew and I’m sure that played a role in all of the above. I might stay there on a Saturday night if I really wanted to be in this location but I don’t see myself volunteering to stay on a business night again. Definitely don’t see myself hosting a meeting there for overnight guests unless or until I have a better outcome. Not sure yet about this one.

This was our first AC property. Looked like a nice option near the convention center but the service was awful and amenities poor. No valet parking and no place to unload. Ice and water on our floor empty entire weekend. Bathroom in 7th floor lobby clogged. It looks like AC brought European service which you never want. Front desk was surly and unavailable, bartender was slow and made poor drinks despite few patrons. At breakfast, they ran out of croissants, coffee, creamer, and bread and there was only one poor staff person trying to clean and refill and do everything. Basically, a Courtyard with nicer finishes but worse service and amenities.

Second time in a year we've been to Pittsburgh and have used this hotel as our hub.
Love the location just between downtown and the Strip district.
Also, close to river walk and stadium access.
Parking was easy on our first multi night stay even though the valet and on site garage is not set up yet.
This trip we did get to use the garage for overnight storage of our bikes as we came in via the GAP trail.
Lobby is on top floor of hotel along with bar and restaurant.
Nice breakfast at reasonable price during the time of our second stay.
We have this as our first place to check for travel to Pittsburgh and would recommend to anyone we know that are heading that way.
It's a great stop at the end of the GAP bike trail as it's a short flat ride from the end at the Point State Park.

The hotel had much going for it. The design was sleek, modern and elegant. Several nice features including Netflix on your TV and higher end products in the bathroom. However, none of that could compensate for two MAJOR problems.
1. My room was very very hot - oven like. I turned on the AC, left the hotel to have lunch and when I came back, the temperature was still very very high in the room. I was told that the AC will NOT work if you are not in the room. That would be fine except it took an extraordinarily long time to begin to cool off. This meant every time you leave the room, you come back to an oven.
2. The hotel is in "no man's land". Next to the convention center, it is fine if you are there for a convention. It is surrounded by parking lots. Other than that, everything is a hike. Especially now, there is nothing in walking distance.

Ultimately, the only solution was to check out 2 hours after arriving and get to a hotel with working AC and coffee within reach. Perhaps we will reconsider this hotel in the winter when Covid is over.
