My husband, 2 adult sons and I came to Pittsburgh for the Sunday Steelers game. An annual event but my 1st time, at a cost of $2,000.00 for tickets. Our kennel was full, but hotel was advertised as pet friendly, unfortunately absolutely not. After being threatened with expulsion by housekeeping after paying $150. fee for pets and calling back to please apologize to the other guests, explaining I'm hearing impaired and did not hear the first phone call from the hotel, which was unpleasant and apparently not satisfactory to the staff. I stayed in Saturday night to babysit our dogs and ate take out, while my family went out, thank you. I received a call that we would need to leave if we were going to the game. I explained we had already agreed that the dogs would be in the car, in the garage, while we were out, that seemed to mollify you. As we were about to check out, housekeeping calls and tells me to keep my pets on a leash while leaving? Wholly unnecessary. They were never off leash in the common areas at any time, they were nothing but pleasant-we make it a point to be good dog owners. My dogs have been trained to ignore people and other pets they encounter. I had one housekeeper jump back as we exited the elevator-he's a black lab,10 years old and partial blind, he never even saw her, let alone acknowledged her. The dogs never misbehaved at all except, when we left for 3 hours to go shopping, at 1pm on Saturday. (They have stayed in hotels before and we've never encountered any problems, so this situation was a surprise to say the least) I had told housekeeping we were leaving as we left and that the dogs were in the room. Apparently, housekeeping took this as an opportunity to immediately started cleaning and vacuuming in front of our room, upsetting our dogs and causing neighbors to complain. Was housekeeping trying to start problems? It's seems your hotel relies on bullying guests, instead of trying to reasonably trying to work with them; not a good public relations policy. The man at the hotel desk was outwardly hostile from the beginning, not quite sure why. Additionally; your tv's don't work except for streaming, your maintenance knows this, but you simply don't care-that's not what you advertise. Wifi was difficult to connect to. Could be great place, but need to get your act together. And yes, will be posting my experience to the internet.

I wanted more than just a regular hotel for a getaway few days in downtown Pittsburgh. The Etage was perfect. As a fully furnished “executive apartment” it was spacious and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable. With 1,2 or 3 bedroom options, this place would be great for a large family or a few couples.

If you need a gym while on the road, then this is the place. A full service health club in the building is included with your room.

Parking: EVERY hotel in the heart of town will charge $30 or more for parking so just accept it. At Etage, the $30/day is billed to your room and you have unlimited in/out privileges to the garage which is the 3rd thru 6th floor of the building. -Note- I don’t think a large SUV or pickup truck would fit.

Paul at the front desk was extremely helpful. The whole experience was excellent. Worth the price.

While the decor of the rooms and the views were overall excellent, we did have multiple problems when we booked for my son's wedding. We had reservation issues and the condition of the room we ended up having to upgrade to because of these issues was less than desirable. The initial email was responded to promptly by the Asst. G.M., Hannah, with an offer (in writing) of a solution, which she said she had already taken care of. However, she did not follow through on that, and then proceeded to ghost me when I followed up via phone messages and emails. The front desk has been instructed that they cannot give out any contact information for anyone in a higher position. The management company, Aimbridge Hospitality, corporate phone goes straight to a voicemail and their website lists no email contact information.
I don't even know, nor can I locate, who owns this property.
So if you do encounter a problem, don't expect a resolution!

If you are thinking about booking the room they advertise on their website with the panoramic windows, that particular penthouse has been occupied for the last 2 years and is not available as if this review. We only booked due to that photo and specifically asked for that room type and was told that is what we booked and when we arrived it was not the same unit. Bed linen was dirty and we were forced to change ourselves because housekeeping never showed. No instructions on how to roll the window to ceiling shade so we were forced to not have a window view in the bedroom for 2 days. Front desk service was horrible by 2 female workers who never smiled and had attitudes as if they literally hated their jobs. Not worth the price for the cleanliness and customer service issue we experienced and was very disappointed. Dealing with lost baggage and flight delays, after checking out our flight was canceled again and we booked at the Hyatt Place in Pittsburgh and it cost 3/4 of what we paid to stay at Etage and was a far better experience and we literally could have stayed there initially with free breakfast!

I came in from LA. My flight landed late. I was looking for a luxury hotel that I would be comfortable staying in. It was 2:30am when I was referred to come to Etage, its right in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh Pa. Kinou the gentleman at the front desk was very professional and polite - he let me know all about the hotel and helped me book a room for a few nights stay. Also anything that was needed he made sure that he was on top of it getting it done and making sure my hotel stay would be one to remember- I am really grateful for his customer service and attentiveness. People like him creates returning customers. Every time I come here to pittsburgh I will be surely to stay here at the Etage. Thank you for everything Kinou!!!!!!!!

Great place. Was very surprised at the size of the rooms. I’ve had apartments smaller than this. The hotel is setup for extended stays and families. There is a full kitchen, washer/dryer and large bathroom. The attached parking garage is tight. What I mean is it’s small and can be a tight fit if you have a large truck or SUV. Standard cars are ok. Just take it slow in the garage.

One thing to note is there is a $250 damage deposit charged when you check in. You’ll get it back after check out. I wasn’t aware of that and it’s not an issue for me but was a surprise none the less. I booked on Expedia and don’t reminder seeing that but on another booking site, it was in the fine print.

There is our go to place when going to Pittsburgh now.

Words cannot describe the level of uncleanliness that we entered into when we stepped foot into our room.

Crumbs, dirt, and mud covered the floors. They were a nice addition to what could only be assumed to be champagne splattered floor to ceiling all over every surface of the room.
Something stuck in your tooth? That’s okay, we found a used, green tooth flosser on the couch for those hard-to-get pieces of food.
Also, if you hate your kids, our room came with a pre-broken granite island countertop. All it needed was a little lean and it would have done the trick.

We complained and were moved to a penthouse room. Thought it would be spotless and were excited for the upgrade, but it too was pretty disgusting. Not on first look (meaning no broken countertops or champagne splatters) but the dirt, crumbs, and overall yuckiness was still there.

Also, if you love hearing your neighbors conversations, this is the place for you.

We were hoping to reserve a hotel block for a wedding next year, now we’re warning everyone away!

Location: Fantastic and convenient

Pros: spacious suites, nice and quiet, overall good vibe

Cons: Trash can was broken, sofa was filthy and had chips from prior guests, toilet base was gross and seems uncleaned for years, shower had hair in it, toilet paper is worse than 1 ply

The worst part? My towel accidently knocked over the toilet brush and brown water was all in the container. Clearly the brushes have never been cleaned or sanitized. I've actually never been more happy to come home and take a shower after being here, despite how beautiful the suites are. As well you can tell the handles in the kitchen were not wiped down. Maybe if we stay here again I will bring my own TP and cleaning products.

If they can do 3 simple things: clean and sanitize the toilets and shower, clean the sofa and fix the broken trash cans, this place would be amazing. I guess because of location they really don't care to improve on cleanliness.

This hotel is very stunning. Very high tech, the whole time I was thinking that my parents would have a difficult time navigating around the hotel and the amenities. If you like to sleep in a cool room at night this is your fair warning....we had the air on full blast as cold as it could go and I still didn't even have the sheet on me at night that's how warm it was. My main concern about this place is their customer service. I booked on their website and got a package deal with Five Iron Golf. Long story short, when we go over to Five Iron to do our "1 hour free rental" the manager at the front desk looks at me and says, "oh I don't even know why we have that package with them, but we run specials on the weekends and it's only $1 for 2 hours." So we did that. When I try to talk to the front desk person about getting my money back, since that's a rip off to charge people $30-$40 more for a "package deal" not only can no one help me, no one who is working has any idea what this package even is. I called a day later after our stay and the lady at the front desk tells me that I was also overcharged for parking and that she would refund me the difference since the person who checked me out did it incorrectly, no big deal. She also told me that someone from sales would contact me about the package since she didn't have any idea about it and the sales people apparently take care of that. 48 hours go by, I hear nothing. So I call again, I get the General Manager, Ashley. I think that I am being highly kind and reasonable, I work in the service industry for a living so I get it. But when every time I voice my concern and I'm met with a dismissive, "I understand how you feel that way." and no offer of a solution, I get somewhat frustrated. The "answer" that Ashley offers is "those packages are set in stone and so the best I can tell you is that if you choose to stay with us again, don't pay for one of the packages." Of course she sugarcoats it in fancy customer service language but I'm not exaggerating this is literally the only suggestion she makes to me. And when I tell her okay, well you guys might want to stop offering those packages because you're ripping people off, she says that the sales team meets hasn't updated that package in a year if not 2. Makes sense...If you stay here and have a concern, do not expect to be compensated in any way shape or form. All I was asking was to be charged the normal room rate. Not asking a lot

Traveled to spend time with family, reserved a standard 3 bedroom which according to the website included a large dining table; pictures showed it would seat 8. Arrived to find out I had been "upgraded" to a different 3 bedroom. Had previously confirmed (twice) with front desk personnel that I had reserved a standard. Asst. GM told me none of the apartments have a large dining room table and I should in future be sure what I was reserving. She also told me she was doing me a favor to be speaking with me during her time off. Front desk person told me there was only one standard 3 bed and it was occupied by a long term guest. Had I known ahead of time I certainly would have reserved elsewhere; not possible at last minute as this was a home football weekend for the Steelers. Total lack of integrity in Asst. GM and at least one front desk person.
