I stay here for two nights in early September. Room 705. When checking in, it's good to know that you may pull up in front and park in an area marked by white diagonal lines. This is for checking in, unloading and loading only. Parking is $24/day off site two blocks away (with in and out privileges). Large two-story atrium with TV, seating, a mini market and a glass enclosed conference room at one end. Friendly, helpful staff. Socially distance markings on the floor and large pump hand sanitizers available. Two luggage carts with triangular bases are available in this area. Breakfast was provided as takeaway: yogurt, breakfast sandwich to microwave, fruit cup, and orange juice or water. The room is an accessible room which I requested as (when available) I prefer the walk in shower and raised toilet. Room was very comfortable and (mostly) very clean.* Closet with iron and board, microwave, small fridge, one-cup coffee maker. Desk area. Plenty of towels, very comfortable bed and pillows. Plenty of good lighting as well. *Regarding cleanliness: I discovered when looking for the TV remote, that the area behind the console under the TV had not been cleaned in some time. Though this was a bit of a shocking discovery, the district manager happened to be on-site that day and handled the situation purposefully and properly. This situation aside, I believe this was an anomaly as the rest of the room and the property in general was clean and well kept elsewhere. I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is one of the more reasonably priced in the downtown area and is close in and a very walkable area.

I preface this by saying it was a sad and teen daughter making a stop on a road trip. The hotel is really great and I highly recommend it. Rod was the front desk worker and he was amazingly personable and more than helpful. There is free parking behind the hotel so you can feel safe leaving your car. The room was clean and air conditioned. We had a quiet night. The shower was great too! There is no safe in the room, however we felt safe leaving our goods. One interesting thing in the room was a light shade to pull over the window which had tree tops on it, creating a nice vibe. The location is great and we recommend walking across the bridge and taking the tram up the mountain. Overall, it was a great stay and we highly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here 3 times since 2020 ... the first stay during covid the staff were a little rude however since then i have had a great experience with every other aspect of each stay. on the other occasions staff were welcoming and friendly rooms are clean and very quiet with free strong wifi and most feature a nice view of mount Washington ,station square and the incline. the free breakfast is great and has a very large selection of food and drink as well as a comfortable seating area if you choose to eat there. if you are a guest the hotel will hold your luggage before/ after check out if you need a place to store them. and all public transit is walking distance A incidental fee of 20/30 is taken off your credit or debit card which is very reasonable compared to other hotels of this quality. will return again for sure

The hotel is located next to a blighted property and a parking lot that cannot be used. Despite the hotel's location in front of the water, it is doubtful that any room would have a water view due to the position of the building.

Our room was fine. Not bad, not good, just fine. No housekeeping because of "COVID." We had what was supposed to be a larger, more expensive room with a king sized bed and sofa bed/separate living area and it was very small in size.

Breakfast was grab and go because of "COVID" and consisted of a cold prewrapped muffin, yogurt, and a cold Jimmy Dean sandwich that needed heated. I suppose guests are supposed to go up to their room to heat the sandwich and eat the breakfast.

I can live with all of the above even though it is not ideal. The issue I have is that the hotel claims to offer "Valet Parking," and I was, in fact, charged $24 per night for "valet parking" in a self park garage that is about 3 blocks from the hotel. Additionally, the weekend rates at the garage were half of what the hotel charged me on. the weekend that I stayed there.

I did not feel safe walking to the hotel from the garage at night and certainly would AVOID at all costs during the winter.

I called Marriott about this issue and never got any resolution.

There are much better, safer, larger options for the same price.

I can overlook all of that

If you're considering this hotel its probably due to the cost vs the other hotels in pittsburgh. We stayed here for a steelers game and it was very average. The room didnt have a safe, someone had left their food in the room fridge that hadnt been cleaned out and the a/c didnt turn off and was pretty loud all night.
Had we been here for longer than 2 nights I would have probably cancelled and gone somewhere else but it was too much hassle. The hotel is located in a good location to get the funicular but apart from that theres very little walking distance from the hotel and the downtown area in general is pretty run down, in hindsight I would have stayed in north shore which seemed to have a lot more going on.

The Hotel is perfectly located right on the Riverfront, which makes it accessible to all of downtown, as well as being ideal for walking, biking, etc., along the river. The hotel is spotless, and extremely comfortable, with a tremendous view. Although the Hotel doesn't have it's own parking available, the Parking couldn't be easier, as there's a large parking garage directly behind the hotel, and the hotel provides the parking pass, and adds the charge to your bill. Again, Parking couldn't be easier! Most impressive, is the Hotel Staff....We were immediately greeted by Christina at the the Front Desk, who's beautiful smile and winsome personality can't be contained by today's ubiquitous facemask. We were also greeted by the hotel manager, Ron, who, along with Christina, went above and beyond to truly make us feel very welcome. And that's the true meaning of Hospitality! This is THE HOTEL to stay at in Downtown Pittsburgh!!!

We stayed here this past weekend when we were in Pittsburgh to visit the U of Pitt and Carnegie Mellon U. The location of this hotel is right on the water (I can't remember which river it was as there are 3...

Rooms are a little small but are fine. The second floor mezzanine serves breakfast and turned out to be a great place for my kids to study in the afternoons in between college visits. The hotel staff are fantastic- professional, friendly, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Parking is a few blocks away from the hotel and runs like $24/night. There's not much to do for food or drink within a block or two of the hotel, but most of downtown is walkable from here.

Overall excellent property, very well managed and clean. I'd definitely recommend it and I'd stay here again for sure.

My family and I just stayed at the Fairfield Inn for 6 nights. The hotel was OK. Other reviews are accurate about lack of amenities - breakfast, coffee, room cleaning, poor (unsafe) parking location, etc. A huge bright star to our stay was Christina at the front desk. She made sure our room was extra clean upon arrival - as I called that I and my kids have pet allergies. She gave great advice on sight seeing (without being asked) and offered water upon return from a long run. As an Marriott Ambassador member who has stayed hundreds of nights at various Marriott hotels, Christina is one of the best Marriott employees I've come across. It's amazing how someone who is super helpful and friendly can change the whole complexion of your stay.

The hotel is clean and seems newly renovated. The rooms are on the small side but very well designed, the space is small but does not feel small. I'd stay here again on business but would avoid with a family. The neighborhood feels a bit seedy and I would not suggest walking around alone at night. There is not a ton of walkable options for meals. The hotel breakfast is standard hotel fare, not great, not bad. However, the big drawback here is parking, it's valet only, and $38 per night plus tip, so make sure you factor that into your budget.

We stayed 5 nights, it was nice quiet accommodation. Front office staff always helpful with directions for us Aussie tourists. Breakfast had a great selection of food/ drinks which was good. We would definitely stay here again. This place isn't far from Public Transport aswell. I loved that they have a washing machine and dryer that you can use on floor - M which accepts card. Free washing powder and dryer sheets from the front desk.
