Detailed Reviews
This is a large conference facility, with lovely views. It has a 20th century modern look, very angular Danish feel, which some people like, some don’t. It’s not a full service hotel, and some reviewers are troubled by that. It’s really best suited for business meetings or a large group. My room was fine, large and bright, nice bathroom. The property is sprawling and not well suited for people with disabilities or walking issues (Many stairs, few elevators). Staff are nice. Food was OK, not great. Fitness center tiny, very inadequate for a business facility these days. Overall, it was an adequate conference center, not great, not terrible. I would not advise staying here if you’re looking for typical hotel amenities like room service. And management, please update the fitness center.

We stayed one night for an event. The setting is lovely, and right near the Morris Arboretum, which was wonderful. However, you do need a car to see anything. The hotel is clean, common spaces especially nice. The setting in the golf course is pretty, but again, can't really walk around there.

I recently had a 4-day stay at ACE for a group meeting. The website gave me the impression that this was a very upscale conference center. However, while ok it didn't stand out as anything exceptional. As with everything there are pros and cons. So here are just a few of my thoughts:
Pros: Unique small setting areas for breakout groups, great wi-fi, beautiful surrounding view, good customer service (the manager was great)
Cons: My main gripe was the food situation. If your group doesn't pay for meals you're out of luck. I was told it was $75/pp for the dinner buffet however when it came time for dinner we were advised that unless we had a group package then they couldn't accommodate us (not that I would want to pay $75). Also, there's absolutely no where to walk in the area and if you're in from out of town without a car then you're basically left ordering take-out. They should be transparent about this on their website so that people can plan in advance.
The bed was somewhat hard so this may be a problem for some. The rooms were standard so no real complaints. And they do have a small fitness center but difficult to run in the area if that's your thing.
Overall I gave this a 3 star rating because it was overpriced ($3 for half a glass of soda), and to not have food service outside of group packages is a tough sell.

Had lunch and previewed the facility for future business meeting. The food was very good and the staff very accommodating and were willing to help as part of your team for hospitality. Minutes from Center City Philadlephia with free parking and WiFi and the outdoor views are a beautiful setting sitting atop Lafayette Hill

I recently stayed at this facility for an event and my accommodations were made by event coordinator. This facility is lacking in every way. The decor for all spaces - room, lounge, restaurant - are cold and sterile. The same is true for the staff. Rooms need much care as evidenced by the absence of grouting around bathtub and worn fixtures on balcony doors. The facility is a huge maze of twisting and turning halls. There was no ice available on my floor but I was advised I could find it somewhere on another floor - no specifics - just another floor. The facility grounds are lovely but it is truly in the middle of nowhere. No close dining options - or anything else for that matter. My last morning there I had no hot water so showered in barely lukewarm water. The worst moments were trying to dine. I had to stay an extra night due to transportation issues but was assured I could eat in the dining room. When I arrived at the dining room I was told I was not permitted to eat in the dining room but food from the buffet could be boxed for me to take to my room. There were perhaps 16 people dining in a room that could easily hold 150 people. This was not a good option so I went to the lounge which offered a limited menu. There was a group of 4 eating and drinking there. I watched the bartender come to their table at least 3 times asking what they needed, refills, etc. I sat 15 minutes being completely ignored. I finally went to the bar and asked to be served where I was sitting. The bartender looked at me and said, "I'm the bartender". I pointed out she was serving the other people in the lounge - she rolled her eyes and said she'd be over to take my drink order so I had to tell her I wanted a menu too. Ten minutes later she finally arrived to take my order. I had a pathetic charcuterie and was never approached again. Never asked if I wanted a refill on my beverage or how my meal was. This was while I watched the bartender standing at the bar doing absolutely nothing. I have experienced this type of behavior before traveling as a single woman and it is simply unacceptable. And rude. And discriminatory. I will be attending future events at the hotel and conference center - but I will find other lodging, no matter how far away, rather than stay at this facility. I recommend other travelers do the same.

The rooms are average and the management is built to run a conference center, not a hotel. If you want to use this for an event, it might work, but as a hotel, you are better off going to a facility with professional management.
We booked a room at the facility for 2 days from December 11th-13th with very little expectations. We were staying here because of the location and our wish to have a good nights sleep.
Upon returning to the hotel after a dinner with our daughter, we stopped to pick up a glass of wine at the lobby bar on the way to our bedroom. We were verbally abused and threatened by a group that had rented out the lobby for a holiday party. The management of the hotel( Daniel) was unable and unwilling to maintain control. In my 30 years of travel, I have never had a situation where hotel guests were allowed to be bullied out of a hotel lobby. As we were unwilling to fight, we returned to our room and the management did their best to ignore our requests for an explanation or a credit.
The staff was diligent, but it was clear that management prioritized their events over hotel guests.

This place is more for either a large wedding party or business group and conference but I would take the hotel out of the name. No complaints about the grounds or cleanliness of the rooms both were great but we felt like we were at a strange religious compound or meeting center, apparently it used to be an old pharmaceutical training place with boarding rooms. It's a giant old 1970's brown condo looking place but with neat landscaping, We parked a good walk from our actual room and walked through very hot long hallways. We made the mistake of assuming we'd get a drink at the hotel, there were no soda or ice machines anywhere near us, we would have to walk through many hallways and up 1-2 flights to find it so we didn't bother. We called room service to find out that there is no room service -huh? We turned on the tv to find no pay per view or movie channels so if nothing on you're out of luck.
Breakfast was even stranger. We were stopped on our way in asking us if we paid for it already and had a number-nope no one asked when we checked in, then they went to check our credit card I guess before we were allowed to use the buffet. I guess if you're not with a wedding party it's strange that you would eat there. The breakfast was okay, nothing fancy.
Just a strange place to stay, not a warm welcoming hotel that's ready to serve you and make you feel comfortable. At minimum, should have ice and beverage machines on either end of the hotel. On a good note the sunset was spectacular. The grounds and windows aren't designed to capture the view (another oddity) so just walk outside and stand near the groundskeeper garage, you get a nice view.

I recently attended a three day conference at the Chubb Hotel and Conference Center. Great venue! It's not far from Philadelphia but feels like you are out in the country. The views are amazing. The rooms are well appointed and meets or exceeds the large chains. Beds are comfortable. The conference and hotel staff are very attentive. There is always someone accessible if you need anything. Food was delicious. Lots of choices on the buffet and made to order omelettes for breakfast. During the conference there was a hefty supply of snacks in the general refreshment area. All in all - a great experience. Looking forward to returning for another meeting.
