Detailed Reviews
I normally try to review a hotel based upon its overall appeal and amenities rather than a single factor. Let me start with the positives:
1. Location. The hotel is only 1 mile/1.6 km from the airport, so getting to and from the hotel is quick. We stayed at this hotel because of this factor.
2. Quiet. Although it is near the airport, it was not a noisy place.
3. Food. Very good hot breakfast, good coffee.
4. Recreation opportunities. Close to river hiking trail and parks.
5. Grocery store. Woolworths was within easy walking distance.
6. Guest self-service laundry, $2 per machine.
Negatives:
1. Tiles in bathroom need Clorox and scrubbing to get rid of mold stains.
2. Wall color in hallway is a stark-white. The hotel would have a cozier ambience if it had some color added to it. I also think the white walls give the hallway a budget hotel feeling.
3. No elevator. We stayed on the second floor of the same building as the reception desk. They had rooms in the first floor, but they weren’t offered to us. Ask for a room in the first floor if you reserve a room at this hotel so you won’t have to bother with taking your luggage up two flights of steps.
4. No special amenities, such as gym or swimming pool. It’s a very basic hotel.

We recently booked three rooms at CKS the night prior to an international airport departure. The hotel is convenient by taxi or uber to the airport and to the Wolli Creek transit stop. We took ubers and it only cost $6-7 between Wolli Creek transit to hotel, and between hotel to airport. Also, the international terminal is very close, just a short 4-5 minute drive. The hotel was clean, sports some updates in areas like carpets and furnishings, tons of tv channels, and free wifi, while still looking a bit dated in the bathrooms, lobby, hallways, etc. We didn't try the hotel bar/restaurant, but I think breakfast was available for a fee. For the price, we had no major complaints. There isn't much to do around the hotel, seems to be pretty residential, but there was a lot of development and restaurants/retail under condos at the Wolli Creek transit stop a short drive away. Finally, we really commend the hotel and extend our appreciation for their flexibility in moving our non-changeable reservation to a new date to accommodate our earlier flight out of Australia during the covid crisis. It's nice to see businesses that are willing to work with people to adjust their travel plans during this unprecedented time.

My 10+ day stay there was pretty good for what I've paid. The staff were the most friendly service staff I've ever met, especially the Asian receptionists, they made sure I was comfortable from day 1 till I checked out.
I had 2 rooms for my entire stay and I will definitely recommend you to request a room in the main building (the one with the reception) especially for long term stays. The room on the second building were pretty small and felt a little cramped up for 2 people, however, I did not stay there for long and can't say much about it but you can read more about it from the other reviewers above.
The main building room on the other hand was big and spacious, it felt really clean and modern. They provided certain basic amenities like a kettle, a hairdryer and a mini fridge. They do provide toilet amenities except toothbrushes and toothpaste so do remember to bring them. The lobby sold drinks, snacks, instant noodles, RAT tests and masks so you don't have to worry when the stores are closed.
The location was excellent from the airport, it was a walkable distance. There is a Woolies and Dan Murphy's 5 minutes away from the hotel and 10 mins walk to the Wolli Creek Railway Station.
All was great however, there is a problem with the toilet, the tile grout was a little dirty on the side of the bathtub. It isn't a deal breaker, that is why I gave a 4/5 rating.
I highly recommend CKS and would be back if I'm ever in the city

2nd time staying at this hotel, before friends depart for the UK.
Rooms and bathroom very clean, no issue.
Showers had very hot water.
Rooms had a fridge and tea/coffee with fresh milk.
Beds were so comfortable, even better than my bed at home.
Service on the check in desk was quick, and friend booked an airport transfer for the next day think cost was $8.
Car was left for over 24 hours at a cost of $25
Train station was less than a 10 minute walk, and took us to Central, Town hall and Bondi. so great for sight seeing.
Would stay here again, and was planning too in a few weeks when more friends visited unfortunately due to border restriction now had to cancel.

Having seen some of the most basic and ill-equipped hotels around the world I thought I had seen it all, until our stay at the CKS Hotel near Sydney Airport.
Staff were extra-friendly, but that's where it stops. The rooms are the tiniest you'd encounter anywhere, and the bathroom plays that game too. You literally can't fit two people in the bathroom at the same time. Every doorway in the hotel is narrow, and the cleanliness of the carpets, etc. are a disgrace.
The entire hotel needs a major cleanup and refresh, and whomever is responsible for the breakfast setup needs a lesson in how to keep pre-cooked food warm.
I guess you get what you pay for, so my advice would be to pay a little extra and book at one of the many other options in the airport vicinity.
Note: I haven't bothered attaching any photos to this post, but if anyone would like to see them I'd be happy to share.

We had stayed here before and had no issues however this stay was incredibly disappointing.
I need to acknowledge that the ladies on reception were really lovely and helpful.
It was the room that was the issue.
I needed to do some paperwork so, being very covid aware, I took some antibacterial wipes to wipe down the desk area underneath the television. The state of the wipes after this was stomach churning. I have attached the photos.
I immediately sent the photos to the hotel via email and soon after went to reception to show them the photos firsthand. Yes I received a verbal apology but no offer of recompense and in hindsight I definitely should have insisted on a partial refund at least.
I had a lot of difficulty trying to sleep that night as I was convinced that everything was dirty.
The next morning when retrieving my softdrinks from the mini fridge I encountered two small cockroaches, and my son (who had a different room) and his friend are adamant that they saw a mouse running around the dining area during breakfast.
All of these issues were mentioned in the “how was your stay?” type email I received several days after checking out and whilst I informed the hotel via this survey that I would like to further discuss the issue, nobody has contacted me almost two months later.
Very disappointing as our previous stats have been pleasant.

Last night I checked into CKS Sydney Airport Hotel and was welcomed by the Manager Brett Saunders & his friendly front office staff. I felt welcomed & at home the moment I was greeted at reception.
The Manager Brett kindly assisted me to my room with my luggage & offered suggestions for my travel arrangements the following day. Extremely helpful & professional in his manner.
I had room service deliver a late night meal of the chicken satay and a beautiful raspberry creme brûlée. What a treat. The meal was fresh & so very delicious. The Manager of the restaurant delivered my meal & engaged in friendly conversations about my travel plans. So refreshing to have welcoming relaxed staff to ensure my every need was met.
If you’re travelling to Sydney & arriving at the airport, CKS Sydney Airport Hotel is definitely recommend as the next place you book when visiting Sydney. You’ll be greeted by professional, welcoming staff & feel at home the minute you arrive. Thanks Brett & staff for a delightful visit. I’ll be back next time I visit Sydney 😊

The foyer and room smelt of mould. Our clothes an hour later from being there only 15minutes still did. We asked for another room as not habitable. We were told there were none. We asked for our money back. 'Our manager needs to approve'... but you can have another room over in another section. I just want money back as we booked elsewhere after told none - to not miss out. Can we speak to manager. He's busy. Hotels.com saying we cant rebook as checked in- although we dont have our own access. Chat with them cutoff. Just want our money back and health inspection on property or alternatively do not book out as cheaper rooms as vulnerable people could be compromised.

This place is very simple and quite obviously only succeeds on location. I felt like I’d been ripped big time when I paid $400 for what was essentially a motel room. There was a big concert in town and they took advantage of the short hotel supply.
The old box style aircon rattled so loud that I couldn’t use it. I opened the window and the traffic noise was hideous. The walls in the halls look like they’ve not been cleaned in years.
Knowing what I do now I would’ve stayed 15 mins further out and paid half the price.
Their airport bus runs every 40 mins which is fine, but they charge for that too. Uber drivers cancel because it’s not worth their while picking you up and getting stuck in traffic at the airport.
In summary…. At a fair price this place would be ok. But it’s not worth what I paid and I’ll never stay again based on the fact they were more than greedy on this occasion.

I stayed here for work and found it comfortable and convenient.
It was expensive for what was on offer, but Sydney hotels are over priced in general and comparatively it was a reasonable price.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was a good size.
Bathroom was basic, but clean, although the toilet wasn’t flushing properly. Having said that, it did work and wasn’t a massive issue.
The staff were really lovely and the breakfast was simple but good value.
The only problem I had was the taxi from the airport who tried to charge me “off meter” because the hotel is so close. For travellers coming in, make sure you insist on the driver putting the meter on to avoid this.
The only issue I had was that the shampoo tube had a seal on the side and made it hard to open in the shower.
Good experience overall

Depending on the package/medium you have booked through. Generally speaking it is $20 per night.
Thank you
Brett
I usually grab a taxi, but parking looks to be no problem. There’s plenty of space.
Not recommended, walked to the nearest train station and it took me around 15-30 min? (depending on your walking style and speed)
Airport shuttle is NOT free $8/per person and it is NOT run by hotel. It's one that goes to a bunch of hotels. Was going to take 45 minutes for the next one to arrive so ended up taking a taxi.
The hotel is 10 or less mins walk to the station.
