Don’t get me wrong. it’s a very well presented venue. Staff were lovely, however the issues were:
We were quite kindly upgraded to a Pool side room, however it did smell slightly of vomit. I’m not sure if there was an ill previous guest or it was a chemical smell, but was slightly unpleasant, however we left the balcony doors open and that helped.
Breakfast was a bit disorganised and they were clearly understaffed. One chef in kitchen
However, our real bug was the loud music. I get this is attached to a pub but I really don’t understand why the dance music has to be played at an incredible volume through the poolside speakers. Thump thump thump from roughly midday to midnight. I really don’t get it. I mentioned it to the staff at about four and they turned it down slightly but it was still very audible. We really couldn’t relax during the day.
After two nights we’re glad to get home.
It’s a beautiful venue if you like the Ibiza vibe, however the loud music really spoilt it.
Sorry

Family of 4. Nice and modern resort. Friendly staff, good food and vibe.
The rooms are nice and modern, however the only downfall is the fridge, if you’re looking to stock your own drinks and food, you won’t fit much as it is smaller than a mini.
Continental breakfast at $33 per head is pricey for what it is, considering the only fruit they had was strawberries and no fresh cheeses or other options other than packaged cereal & fried breakfast.
Location is great and we would stay here again.

What a beautiful place to meet friends for lunch - everything was perfect location wise. Service was good too and food was reasonably priced. It could be a 5 star if only the food was better - oysters mornay were just way over cooked. My chicken (in a soft taco wrap) was over cooked to the point of being dry & tough,. Someone else had pizza - this too was scorched to a crisp! So all up, very mediocre food which is a great shame.

What a fabulous resort! We had a king lake view room. King bed was super comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. Hotel facilities made our stay perfect. The view of the lake was calming and beautiful. It's worth upgrading to the lake view room. Staff were friendly and made our stay 5 star. A big kudos to the chef's. The restaurant food was delicious and not overly expensive. Breakfast was plentiful and eggs cooked any way you wanted. The pool was next to the lake & a great place to soak up the sun. Happy hour between 4pm and 6pm was the best. My next holiday in this area will be at the Beachcomber for sure. Truly a 5 star resort without the 5 star price.

Sadly the delightful ambience of the casual restaurant did not reflect the service or the quality of the meals served. Request for a diet coke at the bar repeated three times & finally gave up when given a straight coke. Seafood platter ordered & received without salmon ... a very small piece was brought to the table on a small plate with a little serve of lettuce. Never have we received such a small basic meal, especially for the price. We are certainly not fussy people but do expect to receive some value for money & an appetising looking meal. I should add we have never complained about a meal but this experience deserved a negative review.

Upon approaching the bar to order drinks, I was not greeted by the server, I got a blank look in which I asked, "Hi how are you going?" the response was "Hey mate". The Server looked uninterested & lacked any type of basic customer service skills. I requested 4 meals & an Entree to come out first & was told "we are sold out of wedges". I decided to order a bowel of chips to come out first, this did not happen, as apparently "we do not do Entrees" as stated by your staff, as well as having to correct the Server as she entered the incorrect pasta into the register (lucky I checked the screen'). The batter on the Fish Tacos was thick & chewy, the fish was bland & overall the meal was not enjoyable. This was not crispy battered fish, as stated on the menu, it tasked like frozen supermarket fish from a packet. $120 spent on the drinks & food was definitely not value for money, this was a massive disappointment & an unenjoyable experience.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our menu consists of a 'To Share' section, which although may appear to be Entrees, are not intended as such. Our Bar/Bistro operates on a buzzer system, therefore, we are unable to organise for certain food items to be made before others. We appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and exceed your expectations. Warm regards, The Beachcomber Hotel Team

I organised a weekend away for my 27th wedding anniversary. We arrived fairly late in the evening but could already tell the view we were given was shocking. It’s of the car park and Main Street. This would be fine if we were charged $100 a night or so but we paid $407 for this awful view, tiny bedroom and shower room (no bath). Only decent thing was the tv size and that it appears clean. Not the romantic break I was hoping for at the price paid.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review regarding your recent stay at The Beachcomber. It would appear that you booked our Urban King room type; this room does feature a view overlooking the street and parking lot. However, we do have plenty of stunning Waterview and Poolside King room types available, although they do sell at a higher rate, we strongly suggest booking one of these rooms for your next stay. Regarding the room size and facilities, the majority of our rooms are a standard 18 sqm, only our Deluxe room types are larger and they are also the only rooms to have a bathtub. Once again, these do sell at a higher rate, but they are most definitely worth the price if the formentioned is what you are looking for. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in one of our Waterview Deluxe King rooms and improve your expectations. Warm regards, The Beachcomber Hotel Team

We loved staying at the Beachcomber, what a gem in the middle of the Central Coast. The first impression was how welcoming the staff were in every part of the hotel experience. We felt like we had arrived at an old friend's home. The ambience of the hotel with the 70's/80's music and vibe to the elegant renovations made us very relaxed. The lake view and sunset from the outdoor deck was so relaxing, we could have been anywhere in the world. Dinner of fish and chips and chilli prawn linguini was tasty. As we were arriving late and only staying 1 night we didn't pay the extra for a lake view, but our room was comfortable and roomy. We will certainly make the most of lake view option next visit. Breakfast was a treat with many options including eggs cooked to order. Again, the breakfast team were so kind and chatty which made us feel we were actually welcomed and part of a family. I mentioned to the waiter clearing our plates that whatever was happening at the beachcomber keep it going. That waiter turned out to be a senior manager, imagine that! Although Toukley is a little village, it is a great staging point for visiting the area. Thankyou again to all the wonderful staff making a difference for a travellers experience at the Beachcomber. You are all GOLD.

Totally disappointed on check in we were advised the pool was closed for a couple of hours due to high winds and would be opened later in the afternoon. When asking that afternoon we were told it would now be opening the next day definitely. The next day still closed and apparently now the council has shut the pool area as it is unsafe and a tree branch has almost hit someone and would be inspected that day. Why were they not upfront before check in if the council has closed the pool area due to it being unsafe. The last day the pool was still closed whilst a tree was being removed but still the other branches from other trees were still Not removed so I doubt still safe.
So a 3 day stay and the pool are was shut our entire stay and we were given the run around. The manager Ken on check out advised we should report to luxury escapes as our luxury weekend getaway for $579 wasn’t satisfactory and he would follow up for a compensation. Disappointing now the beachcomber will not respond to luxury escapes and are giving the run around so we cannot get any compensation. Terrible service and a disappointing stay away, where’s the accountability

Stayed two nights over a weekend with family. The Poolside King room is big enough to accommodate us (2 adults, 1 pre-teen). The room was beautifully renovated, with comfy large bed and spacious balcony overlooking the pool and the lake. The shower had good water pressure which is very important for a comfortable stay. The balcony door is amazingly sound proof. Music went on all night at the Beachie but we didn't hear a thing as soon as the door is shut. The only thing didn't work well was the spa in the pool (it wasn't hot for most of the time). Read all the the comments before coming so we didn't bother going to the restaurant for meals. There are plenty cafes and restaurants just a short walk/drive from the hotel. All the staff were very friendly. Check-in was done in seconds as I completed it online before arriving. Plenty parking. We'd love to come back again.
