Location is awesome, walking distance to the village for small kids (very handy for dinner), and bus stop in front of hotel that takes to ski stations. There is also (paid) parking available on premises, very convinient to get car in and out for skiing, as we preferred to drive in and out for skiing everyday (more convinient with small kids I would say).
Room and bed were comfortable. Breakfast and the living room with kids games were the best part of the hotel.
Would highly recommend the hotel and would love to visit Thredbo again (maybe wait till restaurants sort their staff shortage issues…). Thanks Greg, Patricia and Tim for your hospitality and kindness!
The common area at the lodge is comfortable, with bbq facilities that have the most amazing view of the mountain and village. We had a family room which was spacious and very clean with our own bathroom.
Don’t worry about the stairs to get up to the lodge - it is all part of the charm!
Clean and tidy rooms, awesome daily hot breakfast to help fuel us for the day and wonderful views from the accommodation.
The local free bus helps get to and from the snow in under 5 mins and you never wait longer than 10 mins to get picked up.
Walking distance to everything you need too!
Wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay here again!
I usually head there for the better part of a week with a mate and we use the place to sleep and other than that either spend the time on the mountain or at one of the bars/restaurants around.
If you want something economical that does the job then I recommend this place. The staff are all friendly (especially the caretaker) and breakfast is pretty good. It beats staying in nearby Jindy as at least its within Thredbo village - although the walk back to the hotel can be tiring after a day out. BUT all you need to do is wait for one of the free shuttle buses - easy.
In terms of what you pay for, this place delivers. If you expect luxury then this is not the place for you.
The only unfortunate thing is that it is owned by a west coast eagle fan... that's why it loses one star..
Warm and cosy. Heated slate floors. Great comfortable bedding and breakfast thrown in.
Thredbo is hilly but easy to get to restaurants, pubs and all amenities.
A well run place, lots of fun with great views. We had a little balcony, and the common room with the open fire is magic!!
Yes the rooms are small but the views are amazing and include a balcony (room 6).
There are a few stairs to get up to the hotel but they really arent too bad and you get to the centre before you know it on the way down.
Ill be staying here again soon for some more mountain biking!
