Detailed Reviews
This was our 6th year going to The Lodge in July. Our rooms have always been beautiful but this year even more so as our room opened directly in front of the waterfall with a bird feeder so we could watch the birds. The staff, as usual, were welcoming, helpful and cheerful. While there were slight differences due to the pandemic, for the most part we didn't feel the difference. We saw constant wiping down of high tough areas - railings, door handles, etc. We loved the new patio with the added fire pit, although we didn't eat there. We enjoyed some classes in the gym, some art classes, massages, pool time and lots of outdoor activities, as we have in past years. I'm already looking forward to next year. And just an added review..the last day we always spend at their sister resort, Woodloch Pines. It was wonderful this year with less people but still the same amount of fun.

+1
My family and I have vacationed at Woodloch Pines for many years. This was the first time my boyfriend and I have stayed at the Lodge at Woodloch. We absolutely loved our time there, even with some restrictions in place due to COVID-19. I loved the hiking trails and visiting the Sanctuary - so tranquil! Even with the COVID-19 restrictions in place, there were so many outdoor activities to partake in, including kayaking and paddle boarding. The food was delicious and Mitch was a fantastic, attentive waiter. We were able to have our meals outdoor on the terrace or we enjoyed our meals inside our room on our balcony. We also spent a majority of our visit at the pool and hot tub. Lastly, the resort was EXTREMELY clean. The employees were constantly cleaning and there are hand sanitizing stations all over the property. The staff at the Lodge at Woodloch has done a fantastic job and I am excited to revisit in the future!

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We recently returned from a three night stay and a much needed getaway.
Highlights:
* The garden dinner was outstanding. The food was delicious and we loved the wine pairings.
* I enjoyed the spa. I was hesitant at first given covid, but the Woodloch team did a great job with precautions. The Rosemary Awakening treatment with Holly was AMAZING.
* We enjoyed the outdoor activities and found the staff at each location very helpful and kind
* The take-out food offering works well. If you don't want to eat inside, you can either pick up or have meals delivered to your room.
* There is live music inside every night and outside on Sundays.
Lowlights:
* The construction is much more disturbing than the description lead us to believe. It is right by the main part of the building which means that you hear the construction EVERYWHERE. The trucks are constantly beeping as they move around, sawing starts early in the morning, etc. There is no peace and quiet whether you are sitting on the porch of your room, at the fire pit or one of the hammocks.
* There is no housekeeping offered which is inconsistent with many other hotels and resorts that have returned to providing the service, or at least the option to have the service.
* The pillows are not good, I recommend bringing your own.
* The dock is small and there is limited lake-side seating or room to fish.
* Class numbers are restricted due to covid which means they fill up quickly.

kjanthony13 - Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts about your recent stay with us! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your garden dinner experience and spa treatments, and we will be sure to pass along your compliments to Holly and our Outdoor Experiences team. We would like to apologize for the construction noises you experienced during your time here. This light construction will be wrapped up in just a few short weeks, and we can't wait to share our new expansion with you during your next visit! In addition, regarding your housekeeping service and pillows - in an effort to create as safe of an environment as possible for both our guests and our team, we have paused in-room housekeeping service, and replaced that with fresh sheet and towel delivery to each room every morning of your stay. Also due to Covid restrictions, we have needed to pause our popular Pillow Menu program, which would have been a great way for an alternate pillow style to be delivered to your room. In spite of the new policies we are having to operate under, we truly hope you enjoyed your time here and will be able to join us again soon!

Relax, enjoy and feel safe at the Lodge. I was very hesitant to travel during this pandemic, and both my husband and I were extremely happy with all the precautions taken by the staff. They have a great protocol for dining, room service, handling of guests and we felt relaxed and comfortable. There are hand sanitizing stations everywhere, the guests all wore masks and adhered to social distancing guidelines. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The food is fabulous and there is something for every diet. The staff is incredibly nice and you can tell the effort they put in to keep the guests happy and the facilities pristine. When my glasses broke, Kelly at the front desk called engineering to come fix them!. We hiked, fished, kayaked, swam, lounged in the many hot baths, took a yoga class, had a couples massage - a must do! and enjoyed the Garden Dinner. This is a fabulous experience, and you must sign up for this in advance. Overall, we felt relaxed, pampered and peaceful. It was the perfect get-away.

if you're thinking about booking this just do it. we had the best most relaxing weekend and it was absolutely freezing outside so we didn't even get to do any of the outdoor activities, i cant imagine if we had. the activities were taking place though, we just didnt want to freeze. everything was very covid safe and they already only have like 55 rooms and are booking 75% so it was really uncrowded. i never felt unsafe.
next time i'm going to go during the week though. on friday it was like we owned the spa but Saturday people not staying at the lodge were coming in for appointments so it didnt feel as private. but still amazing. we're def going to be back!

The Lodge is a beautiful property in the Poconos. The surroundings are rustic, with woods, wildlife, lakes, and rivers abound. The amenities are great - whether you want to kayak on the water, go for guided walks, bike ride around, take painting classes, get a round of golf in, or any slew of other activities... The Lodge has you covered. The pools and hot tubs especially are beautiful and relaxing. The facility is built for relaxation and restorative time in nature.
What left a bad taste in our mouths, no pun intended, was repeated poor dining experiences. The staff just seems to be very poorly trained. On multiple occasions, our entrees were brought out within 10 minutes of starting our first course. When we looked confused while the staff stood there, on one occasion she rudely asked us to clear space on our table to find somewhere to place the plate. On another occasion, we were brought a tea cup with a lipstick stain on it. At any time this should not be acceptable; during Covid it is abhorrent and left us wondering how well the rest of the dishes were being washed. On two other occasions, staff came and asked if they could take our plates while our spoons were literally still in our mouths. This is a level of service that shouldn't be seen at any establishment. At a place the quality of The Lodge, it is completely unacceptable. The poor service distracted from what were otherwise delicious meals.
It should be noted that, dirty cup aside, the rest of the facility was extremely cognizant of all Covid precautions. There were hand sanitizing stations EVERYWHERE, and all protocols were very well designed.

mksheikh - Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience here at The Lodge at Woodloch. What a fantastic time of year to be able to get outside and enjoy our beautiful natural surroundings! We were very disappointed to hear of the challenges that arose during meal times in our dining room. Our team does go through a rigorous training process and the service you experienced is certainly not reflective of that. We will be using your comments to learn and grow upon our current policies and procedures to ensure all of our guests are receiving the unparalled level of hospitality we are so proud to offer. You are absolutely correct regarding the lipstick on the cup. Part of our training includes reviewing glassware to ensure there are no stains remaining after the dishwashing process (which exceeds the requirement of 160-180 degree temperatures and steaming to ensure full sanitization). Despite this process, this cup must have slipped through the cracks. While fully sanitized, at times, certain lipstick stains seem to live up to cosmetic promises (and then some). We appreciate you bringing this to our attention in order to refresh our training with our teams. As you mentioned in your feedback, our full team (including in the dining room), are sincerely dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and hospitable experience- especially during this time. Rest-assured we have heard you and will address this matter directly. Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back soon!

We have stayed there in the past and had such lovely experiences. All our travel plans have been cancelled due to Covid. We needed to get out of the city & be able to walk around in nature. They followed all the CDC recommendations and are observing all the precautions for Covid. It was a different experience this time having to wear masks in the building and for the treatments they do offer now.
Housecleaning does not enter the room once you arrived. They have taken out the touches they normally leave in the room for special occasions for safety reasons.
With that said, the meals are always so amazing. It was so nice to "dine out" for the first time in over 3 months. The farm to table food does was fabulous:) We did a few classes again different due to social distancing and took a walk on the trails which was a pleasure. It was a very nice weekend away from the city and relaxing as well.
We look froward to returning sometime in the near future.

You know that a stay is successful when you are yearning (almost pleading) to stay longer. That was me. I was thinking of all sorts of ways to extend our stay by one more night! We stayed 4 nights/5 days, but it did not seem enough. I wanted one more afternoon in the hammock. One more opportunity for meditation. One more opportunity to try something off the dinner menu. But alas, they were booked through the weekend and couldn't accommodate us. Sigh.
We booked using the mid-week magic package. Quite a good deal, I thought. For the cost of one small hotel room centrally located in NYC, we got three delicious meals, myriad classes and activities, a fabulous spa facility and beautiful grounds to explore. When we visited in early September (the week after Labor Day), we hadn't yet indulged in indoor dining, though the hotel offered it in its main dining room and seemed like a popular options for guests, and weren't comfortable being in closed quarters given COVID. We took all of our meals to go outdoor on our little private balcony. This mostly worked, but I would suggest that the hotel invest in citronella candles to help guest keep away the bees. I would also recommend that guests pick up their meals rather than opt for delivery; there were less complications with the pick up options.
Two things you must do: sip wine (bring bottles for your room!) by the fire pit late into the night; and do the chef's dinner in the garden (what an amazing foodie experience).

We just spent our third visit to the Lodge at Woodloch.
The rooms are adequate and certainly not over the top. Our view was in the back with woods and waterfall plus a small balcony. The bathrooms are lovely and have separate areas for washing, toilet and shower. Supplies and robes are provided along with umbrella, safe and a walking stick in each closet. Flat screen TV in the room. The remote was in a changeable case. Towels were placed at the door each day and any other incidentals needed required a call to the front desk. Daily room service did not exist due to covid.
The lodge is a really special place for moms and daughters, lovers, etc. There is a very clean indoor pool with two hot tubs with running waterfalls--really beautiful. The wet sauna was eucalyptus infused and just fabulous. The entire women's retreat area was immaculate and the staff most helpful. Water shoes are provided along with lockers for your personal items.
A full menu of spa services is available at the facility and online. In addition, there are many other activities which involve walks, hikes, yoga, stretching, meditation, arts/crafts etc. There is no end to what is available with most included in your room rate charge.
The food is more than plentiful and good with three meals provided per day per person. .
The entire staff, stores, spa, activities center were and are wonderfully cheerful and accommodating. I highly recommend the Lodge at Woodloch and do intent to return.

I had the most amazing stay at the lodge at woodloch. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I had scheduled my visit with my boyfriend, and then broke up with him. So I went on my own. Good choice! I highly recommend it. Solo time can be so important, and this place is where to do it!
From my drive up the gate to stepping into the lobby, I was immediately welcomed to my private oasis.
I felt like I stepped into heaven. Everyone was in robes and slippers (with masks which was petty funny to see ). The robes were so plush, and everything was so calming and comfortable. I immediately felt at ease somehow, like I stepped into another energy zone, where suddenly everything slows down.
The spa was incredible. Everything was pristine. If you are worried about COVID I can tell you that I’ve never felt more safe from any virus or disease in my life. Everyone is screened prior to arrival, and temperature is checked immediately. There were hand sanitizers every 2 feet , and all
Surfaces were constantly being wiped down.
The food...omg. I’ve never had such amazing food in my life. Seriously, how do you go back to regular eating after that?
The grounds are stunning. Deer just walk around like it’s perfectly normal to be around humans. I swear I thought they were fake until they moved. I highly recommend going for a walk around the grounds taking in the peaceful silence. It really speaks to the soul let me tell you.
I went to a chef cooking demo and learned a lot. I’m actually inspired now to cook more often.
The massage .... I would go back just for that. He was seriously amazing.
Great way to end my stay there. I’m trying to maintain my zen now at home and wishing I could go back.
